Four

Chad walked back to us and look worried when he noticed my expression.

"What happened? You look scared" He instantly started scanning for a threat.

"I just became Carolyn's main target. From now on she will do everything in her power to make my school life a living hell"

"No, she won't. I am in all of your classes with you. I will protect you at all costs" hadst tone was final and gave no room for debate.

I was speechless. he pulled me into a hug and kissed my forehead. "I promise that I will always protect you" He whispered into my ear.

I smiled as I hugged him back. "Ok, so what do we have to do? I am feeling competitive and want to kick some arse" Chad smiled at me as he told us the first task. We had to make a human triangle. We had to wait till the coach told us to go. The first group to form a triangle and keep it standing for one minute won.

"Ok, so boys on the bottom, me and Megan on the next level, and Victoria since you are the lightest you can go on top," I asked. It made the most sense"

"Smart and beautiful" Commented Chad

As soon as the coach said to go the boys got on all fours with Chad in the middle, Megan and I climbed up and I had one leg on Steve and the other on Chad, Megan had one leg on Chad and the other on James, We helped Victoria to climb up and she has one leg on me and the other on Megan. we were the first ones to make a triangle. The coach came over and set his timer. Carolyn and her group were next, Carolyn being the smallest was on the top. she did not kneel like is though. She had sat like a queen. The downside of that for her team was that the weight was not even. She even sat and started to wave like she was a queen, this movement caused the whole tower to collapse. By the time they got back up again, they were the last ones up and they lost the round. We on the other hand won. We all high-fived our victory. For the next task, the coach placed a hula-hoop down in front of all the teams.

"Your next task is to get everyone in your group within the hoop"

We all looked at the hoop

"Ok boys stan in the hoop arms linked back to back. We should be able to stand in the hoop. Girls you need to climb on our shoulders"

His plan sounded like it might work. All three of the boys bent down for us to climb up. Once we were on they all walked to the hoop turned so they had their backs against each other and linked up their arms. This made them more stable. I looked down and we had done it. All six of us were within the hoop. I looked around and we were the only ones to have done it so far. As soon as people saw us they started to copy, but the boys made it look easier than it was so they all struggled.

"Well done team, another victory" The coach was very impressed.

The boys stepped out of the hoop and set us back down on our feet. Chad spun me around so that I slid down the front of his body. As soon as my face was level with his he kissed me. Just a small peck but it still made my knees feel weak. I blushed and loomed down when my feet touched the ground.

'You are so cute when you blush' He spoke into my mind so that no one else could hear us. 'Your innocence is a real turn on'

I gasped at his comment and punched him in the arm.

'I am proud to be innocent. I don't want to throw myself to just anyone it has to be the right someone'

'I really hope that I can be that someone for you, but no pressure, as long as I get to steal a kiss or two'

I noticed that everyone was watching us.

"Dude it's so rude to mind link and leave the rest of us out" James pouted

"It was something private that I didn't want everyone else to hear" Stated Chad

"Wait what mind linking?" Victoria asked

"Its where werewolves can talk into each other's minds. It's a must when we are in wolf form as obviously we can't talk" Chad answered

"Makes sense, do you have to be close or does it work when you are far away?"

"Depends on the strength of the wolf. An Alpha can be a few towns away and still communicate with someone close to them" James replied

"So if Jill is getting Bullied she could just call to your mind and you could come running?" Megan asked

"If on the odd chance, I am not by her side then yes I would drop everything and protect her" Chad pulled me into his arms as he spoke.

"That is so cool and makes me feel a lot better since she is not a flashing beacon on Bitch Carolyn's radar" Megan smiled

"Attention teams, Now we are on to the last task. Follow me" The coach led us to an obstacle course. "The first team who gets everyone passed the finish line wins, this will test your team skills, strength, and smarts. Everyone to the starting line"

I started stretching as I knew that this would involve a lot more muscle use.

"Can I just jump on your back and you can carry me?" Megan asked James "I hate getting sweaty"

"Cast a spell to keep you cool" I laughed

"As long as we all work as a team and don't leave anyone behind then we should be fine" Victoria commented "The boys can climb up and help us, weak humans and witches, weak humans, and witches up. I am excluding Jill as she can do this course easily"

I smiled at Victoria, she was right I could do the course. out of all of us, it would be her and Megan who needed the help. We all agreed that the boys and I would go first and then help Megan and Victoria. We stood at the start line waiting for the coach to say we could go.

As soon as the coast said go James and Steve scouped up Megan and Victoria and threw them over their shoulders and ran with them. I glared at Chad

"Do not even think about it" I yelled as I ran past him, James and Steve. Chad had only seen me run as a wolf, not as a human. I was fast, I was strong and I was light. I easily climbed the rope wall and leaned over to grab Victoria from Steve, as soon as I had her he climbed up and Chad was already lifting Megan for James. I jumped down the other side at the same time as Chad. James and Steve jumped down while holding the girls. The next obstacle was crawling under the mesh. I quickly dived on my stomach and commando crawled through. I was shocked at how much quicker I was than the boys. I sat and pretended to blow on my nails when Chad made it through.

"What took you so long" I teased.

"You're like a little GI Jane" He laughed.

I smiled at him as we worked together to pull everyone else out.

The last obstacle was running through tires which was fine. Chad and I raced while poor Victoria and Megan were once again thrown over Steve and James's shoulders. I was the first one past the finish line and I could not help but be childish and stick out my tongue at Chad. As soon as I did he pulled me against him and put his tongue in my mouth. I did not realise how amazing kissing like this would be. I automatically dug my fingers into his hair and pulled him closed. We only pulled away when the couch came up to us and cleared his throat to get our attention.

"Sorry coach" I apologized. I was so embarrassed

Chad on the other hand was not bothered at all and happily wrapped his hand around my waist.

"Well team congratulations, you won all of the challenges with ease. I was very impressed with your teamwork. As your reward you all get next period off. Go and annoy your hour of freedom before lunch.

"Yay freedom, see you boys after we get changed" I squealed as I dragged Megan and Victoria to the changing rooms. We were changed and back with the boys before the next team even finished.

"So girls what would you like to do? We could make it a nice extended lunch break?" Asked James

"Why don't we go bowling?" I asked

"Are you still feeling competitive?" Chad laughed

"I must admit that I did enjoy beating you" I laughed

"Be careful little she-wolf. The future Alpha does not like being beaten" James chuckled

"Isn't an Alpha the leader of the pack?" I asked

Chad gave James an angry look and sighed "Yes when my father steps down I will take over the role. But that's all a long way off, let's go bowling"

I nodded as we all walk towards the parking lot. We could not all fit in one car so we had to take both. The girls went in one and the boys went in the other.

As soon as the boys got in their car they skidded out of the carpark.

"What hooligans" Victoria grumbled

"You still like Steve though" Megan Laughed

"Yes he was in the back, it was that James you like that did the burnout"

"I know it's so hot"

I sat in the back listening to the two of them bicker. It made me feel happy to have a nice normal atmosphere. None of us had dated before so this was all new to us. I had always felt like we were missing out on something. Now I realised that it was just not our time. Since the boys had sped out of the carpark like a bat out of hell they had arrived before us. By the time we had made it to the counter, they had already booked and paid for the lanes and also ordered us all some food and drinks to share.
