Alpha Reon’s POV

People say I’m the most vicious Alpha to kill my father and usurp the throne from him. What they don’t know is what he did to me first.

He killed my fated mate.

Why?

She was a descendant of the family that committed treason.

Father wouldn’t hear my pleas to spare her. Moreso, she didn’t take part in the treason.

He believed she wanted me for the sole purpose of seeking revenge for her family.

Since the day he issued the command to have her beheaded, I have never been the same again. If my father could do something as callous as killing his woman, I’d continue to make people fear me and my sword.

When I lived under my father’s shadow, people saw me as a weak heir. One who can’t rule and be as brave as his father.

I was glad to have been given a chance to prove them wrong.

All the court officials have nothing on me.

Some have tried to get in my favour by suggesting I marry from their clan.

But I’d hear nothing of it.

I wasn’t in the mood to take on another woman.

Judith was the only woman for me.

And my father took her from me.

There was no other woman in the kingdom for me.

So, I buried myself in pack duties and dominating territories.

Once in a while, I sought the comfort of a woman. Not just any woman. But one that looked like Judith.

This fateful evening, there was a beautiful woman in my bed.

One as beautiful as Judith. She even resembled Judith. But she didn’t strike a chord with me.

Truth was, I was driving to town to meet with another woman.

Her wit and business tactics pulled me to her.

I don’t mix business with pleasure. Somehow, she got the wrong idea when I approached her for a partnership. She wanted to meet up with me for other reasons and made that very clear.

Tonight, I will make myself clearer to her at dinner.

“Are you sure you won’t be interested in Olivia anytime soon?” Beta Finn, my second Beta spoke as he opened the car door for me to get in.

I had two Betas serve me as Alpha King. They were both twins. Beta Jasper and Beta Finn. We have been childhood friends for as long as I can remember.

Now they were worried about my bachelor lifestyle.

“You two should keep your eyes glued on the road. Getting late for my meeting with Olivia.”

“Olivia doesn’t mind waiting as long as you are coming.” Beta Finn was responsible for driving. He ignited the key and started.

Beta Jasper simply kept me company at the back – though he could be annoying sometimes.

“It’s been five years already, man. It’s high time you settle down with a woman and get an heir. Judith would like to see you move on.”

“I still got a lot of years ahead of me. I will get a woman before I’m 45.” I tried to shut Jasper up.

Beta Jasper gave up and scrolled through his favourite book.

“What are you reading?” Beta Finn got curious, catching a glimpse of some lewd pictures from the book through the front mirror.

“It’s a book on sex positions.” Beta Jasper replied.

His twin burst into peals of laughter.

“Why are you reading a book on sex positions when you haven’t got a woman?”

“I’m preparing myself for her the right way.”

“Well, you can simply just ask me and I could show you some tricks.” Beta Finn teased.

“I don’t need your lame teachings. Just because you fuck around with all these women doesn’t make you good in bed.” Beta Jasper taunted back.

“They can all testify I’m good!”

“What did you expect them to tell you?” Beta Finn teased him.

“You are simply just jealous…”

“Look out!” I called his attention.

Beta Finn almost hit a lady running across the road.

But she wasn’t running alone.

She was in danger.

Some armed men were chasing after her.

“Holy shit! Why are they chasing after such an innocent girl?” Beta Finn asked no one in particular.

I got out of the car to check out the scene playing before me.

“She could be an assassin. Let me check things out there” Beta Jasper offered.

With the wave of my hand, I insisted.

“Be careful Alpha.” Beta Jasper was concerned for me.

“Are you going to allow him to go out there by himself?”

“We are here for him. At alert.” Beta Jasper replied to his brother.

By now, I caught up with the lady who had been running for her dear life.

“Let me go! They are almost catching up with me!”

She was right.

The heavily guarded men after life were drawing their bows to target her.

But when they saw me, they showed their respect by dropping their weapons.

Swords, arrows and bows alike.

“I can protect you. But I must be sure you are not an assassin or I promise to kill you myself.” I said to the frightened lady.
