Chapter 5

Valerie pov

I woke up with my vision a little blurry, I still can’t believe what happened last night. I tried to get up from the bed but my head was hurting badly. So I didn’t bother getting up from the bed again.

Tears welled down my eyes when I realized what Lorenzo forced me to do, I realized that no matter how hard I tried to end my horrible fate I’m going to always be pushed around all my life not caring about my future or what I really want for myself.

While I was reminiscing on my horrible fate Lorenzo walked into the ward. He walked in with a bright smile on his face which disgusted me the most. “I can’t believe he’s smiling after what he has done to me.” I said to myself and wiped my tears, as much as he had his way already, I’m not going to let him see a teardrop from my eyes.

“You have nothing to worry about, the implant went successfully, once you’re feeling better we will head back to the house.” Lorenzo said to me with a bright smile on his face.

“Why me?” I asked in a very soft and sad tone. Lorenzo was about to leave the ward when he heard the question that I asked him.

“What do you mean?”

“There are ladies flicking themselves around you, and they would be very willing to do what you want them to do, so why did you choose me?” I asked him feeling heart broken by what he had just done to me.

“That’s what makes you special.”

“What?”

“Don’t you get it yet? You are very different from the girls that I have met in the past, your type is rare.” I turned to look at him when I heard what he said to me, because he was not making sense at all.

“So what next? What happens to me after you get the baby that you desire?”

“What are you talking about?” He sounded like he didn’t understand what I was talking about which made it obvious that there’s nothing in it for me, he just wants the baby and after that he is going to abandon me.

“Never mind.”

Lorenzo walked out of the ward without insisting on knowing what I wanted to tell him.

“Go away, I want to be alone.” I said to the person that walked into the ward without checking who it was first.

“It’s Giovanni ma’am, I’d be outside just in case you need anything.” He said before stepping out of the ward, they all disgust me, their sight annoys me too, I can’t believe I will be stuck with them for up to nine months. The only good thing about it is that I’m going to be away from Matteo for a long period of time, this is the best way to escape from him and start my life alone.

While I was in deep thought I heard the sound of the door open. “Didn’t I tell you not to come in?” I scolded angrily.

“Val.” I heard a familiar voice call my name.

“Allesia.” I turned to the door and sighted her standing in front of me. “It’s really you, oh my goodness.” I said as tears welled down my eyes. I sat up on the bed gently and Allesia hugged me really tight.

“What happened? I mean why are you here?” Allesia asked to check on me properly, she looked really worried as she wiped her tears away.

“Stop l, you have nothing to worry about, I’m fine now.” I said to her and she stopped asking so many questions at the same time.

“If there’s nothing to worry about then why are you here?”

“It’s a long story.”

“I have enough time.” Allesia said ajd sat on the chair beside the bed. She looked around the room and I could tell she was curious to know how I ended up in the VIP room.

“Dad lost it again, and almost killed me, I survived by luck.”

“I have told you several times to leave that house but you’re just too stubborn, what if he had succeeded in killing you, we wouldn’t be here having this conversation right now.”

“Well, good thing he didn’t.” I concluded immediately because I knew very well that she was very upset and if I didn’t end it she would say more horrible things about Matteo.

“Val, this time he failed. What if there’s no one there the next time he tries to hurt you?”

“There will be no next time.” Allesia was surprised to hear what I Said. This is the first time that I gave her such a reply.

“What are you trying to say? Did you finally decide to leave the house? I’m confused, tell me what’s going on?”

Allesia looked around the room and she felt it was time to ask all the questions that she was curious to get answers to.

“Tell me what’s going on Val, why are you in a VIP room, both of us know too well that you can’t afford this, and who is that hot looking man that brought me here?” Her last line caught my attention immediately.

“Hot looking man?” I asked her, trying to think of who it might be, because Lorenzo, who was here a few hours ago, would never get her best friend to come see her in the hospital.

“He drove down to the club and surprisingly Clara didn’t hesitate to let me leave with him, I’m sure he’s a very important person in the club, he said you need me and then brought me here.”

“Lorenzo brought you here?”

“Is that his name? Babe talk to me, for you hit a big fish?” Allesia asked looking excited.

“His men saved me from my dad’s abuse.”

“Is he sone kind of thug or what?”

“I don’t know him very well but I know he is wealthy.” I said while thinking about the kind of person Lorenzo is. He’s so hard to figure out because why did he bring her when he was being very brutal to me a few hours ago. “I really don’t know what kind of person he is?” I said a little above a whisper.

“What is your relationship within him? Did he promise you get you a house? Or are you two…”

“Allesia please don’t go there, he’s not the kind of man I would want to spend the rest of my life with.”

“Oops.”

“Girl I’m serious, trust me you don’t want to know the kind of person that man is, don’t be deceived by his good looks.” I said to her because she was obviously tripping.

“So, what’s the plan? Where are you going to live because you obviously aren’t going back to your dad’s house.” I turned to look at Allesia when I heard what she said. I didn’t know how to tell her about what had just happened and how I’m going to be a mother very soon.

“There is no plan.”

“I really don’t get you Val, you’ve been acting strange since I got here, I know you too well to know that you’re keeping something from me.” Tears suddenly welled down my eyes the moment I heard what Allesia said to me.

“Talk to me Val, what’s really going on?” Allesia held my hand warmly as she was struggling not to cry while she watched tears well down my eyes.

“I’m going to be a surrogate mother.” Allesia dropped my hands in shock. I could tell from the way she looked at my face that she was disappointed and unhappy.

“What?”

“I didn’t want it too, I was forced, that young hot man that picked you up from the club was the same man that forced me into being a surrogate mother, offering me fifteen million dollars!” Allesia opened her eyes the moment she heard the amount that I mentioned.

“Did he speak to you earlier about it?”

“Yes, but I constantly refused.”

“Why?” I was shocked to hear the question that she asked me.

“What do you mean? Can’t you see that my career is over? I can’t continue as a stripper even after giving birth, I can't do anything that I want!”

“But he offered you fifteen million dollars Val.”

From the way Allesia sounded it seemed like she was not on my side but I didn’t want to believe such a thing.

“That doesn’t matter anymore because he forced me to do what I didn’t want to do.”

Just then Lorenzo walked into the ward and immediately Allesia stood up and walked up to him. I felt relieved when I saw her do that because I knew she was definitely going to put him in his place for doing such a thing to me.

“Thank you very much.” I opened my eyes wider than normal in disbelief. Allesia was thanking him instead of punching him on the face.

“Allesia what are you doing?” I asked her angrily.
