However, as the days wore on, the stress was beginning to take its toll on her. It was no easy for her, as Carmen was still unconscious, it bothered her and she silently wished that Raze would get back, not just because she missed him, the duties were taking a toll on her and it almkstbfelt like she was losing her sanity.

Just as she finished signing a stack of documents, a maid appeared in the doorway. "Excuse me, Luna," she said with a curtsey, "but the elders have requested your presence in the council room."

Amber's heart rate skyrocketed. She had been dreading this moment. As the newest member of the council, she knew that the elders didn't take kindly to outsiders. She stood up from her desk, but

Carmen walked through the woods, the leaves crunching beneath her feet as she tried to clear her head. She knew the truth about what had happened to her, and she knew that Brenda was the one responsible. But what she didn't know was how to tell Amber. She didn't want to cause any more trouble for her friend, especially now that she was finally happy with Alpha Raze. She wasn't a newbie to the fact that Amber was keeping her identity and she didn't blame her, it was the only she could protect herself. As Carmen walked, lost in thought, she heard a twig snap behind her. She turned to see Alpha Reece approaching her with a cold expression on his face. She recognized him immediately as Amber's ex-mate."Well, well, well. If it isn't Carmen," Alpha Reece said sarcastically. "What brings you to the woods?"Carmen tried to hide her anxiety as she replied, "Just taking a walk, Alpha Reece. Is there a problem?"Alpha Reece's expression darkened. He stepped closer to her, his eyes boring into h

Alpha Reece stood in his study, his right hand man, Andrew, by his side as they discussed their next move."I want you to keep watch on Amber," Reece said, his voice low and commanding. "She's the key to taking over Aloha Reagan's pack."Andrew raised an eyebrow, clearly sensing something devious in Reece's plan."What do you plan to do?" he asked cautiously.Reece grinned, a wicked glint in his eye. "I have other plans for her, but for now, I need to keep her close. By winning her over, I can get closer to her father and take over his pack without a fight."Andrew nodded, understanding Reece's cunning strategy. "I'll keep an eye on her. But what about the others in the pack? Won't they suspect something if we suddenly become close with one of their own?"Reece waved a dismissive hand. "We'll take things slowly. I have a reputation for being charming. I'll work my way into their graces one by one."With that, Reece dismissed Andrew and set off to meet Carmelia, his girlfriend and the

Alpha Reece emerged from the conference meeting with a scowl etched upon his face. The deal he had proposed to Liam, the alpha of Blackwood's pack, had been vehemently refused. It irked him to no end that someone would dare challenge his authority and reject his offer. Every step he took towards his office only intensified the fury boiling within him.As Reece stormed into his office, his beta, Felix, cautiously entered behind him. "Alpha Reece, I understand your frustration with Liam's refusal," Felix said, his voice laced with caution. "But perhaps we could morph a plan to turn the situation in our favor."Reece turned to face Felix, his eyes narrowed. He knew the risks of going against Liam - a vicious and ruthless alpha, but he also despised being denied. He rubbed his temples, considering the idea. "What kind of plan are you suggesting, Felix? We must tread carefully. Liam is not one to be underestimated."Felix raised an eyebrow, leaning against the wall. "I propose we gather in

Amber and Carmen made their way back to the pack, both feeling a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration after a night of revelry at the bar. The moon hung high in the night sky, casting an ethereal glow on their figures as they approached the borders of their territory.Their steps were light and carefree until a low growl reverberated through the trees. The two women halted abruptly and turned to face their attackers, their eyes narrowing with determination. A group of rogues, their eyes wild with feral hunger, had emerged from the shadows, surrounding Amber and Carmen.Without hesitation, they shifted effortlessly into their werewolf forms, their bodies elongating and muscles bulging under their fur-covered skin. Their growls turned into snarls, as their sharper teeth and claws served as lethal weapons against their enemies. The fight began with a ferocity that echoed through the night air. Growls and snarls filled the darkness as Amber and Carmen tore through their opponents, their mov

AMBER'S POVTHE DAY SHE WENT MISSING To say I was hurt was the understatement of the year. Carmen was much more to me than just a friend and to think that she had dealings with someone like Reece after all he had done, all that I did not hide for her hurt me badly. I needed Raze now more than ever, everyone was turning against me, no one was trustworthy and to think that I was being threatened by Reece everytime I see him. Scratch that not every time I saw him, even when I didn't see him, it was quite obvious that the threats I had been receiving were from him. I stood up and walked towards the bathroom to take a shower. I was uncomfortable with my argument with Carmen.Yes she hurt me , but like I said she meant so much that even though it was her fault I wasn't okay being at odds with her. I stripped as I got lost in thought and I got into the shower stall subconsciously and so out of it, must be because I was so used to it. Starting from my hair I washed my body and suddenly C

Ambers POVIt was exhausting to keep looking at Carmen and not tell her anything. It was just as painful as well. I told her I needed to rest just for the day and that I would like to be alone for a while. She told me to apologize for her wrong doings and to appreciate all I did for her at the hospital, she would bring me lunch and dinner. I argued with her for almost an hour before I finally gave in. I told her to bring my lunch by 3 and my dinner by 10. She objected telling me that was a late lunch and that I wouldn't be able to sleep if I had dinner that late as well. She was being too inquisitive so I told her I'd have lunch by 2 and dinner by 8 instead. She smiled at her success at swaying me. I have her a hug before she left and it oddly seemed like the last one I would give her. I took my mind off of it and fear, anger and uncertainty gnawed at me for the rest of the day. The time crawled closer and crawled slower and I don't why I felt angst at the fact the day was crawling

AMBER'S POVReece's was comical to me but I had to hold my laugh in, I couldn't break character at this point, I was already far too gone. He looked shocked at my words and at my tone. I watched as that shock turned into anger as he clenched his fists and grind his teeth. "You think he'll come save you? Is that it? No one knows where you are, except a handful of my men. Believe me when I say you're stuck here." He says and I roll my eyes in disgust. "Say something else. You don't scare me." I said and then to put a dent in his pride and ego I added, "Not anymore."Reece was a man who got excited or got pure happiness from the singular fact that they bring out fear in people. It was sickening to know, he was ruthless too. He loved people fearing him and all that, so me saying he doesn't scare me anymore must be a hit to his huge ass ego. He opens his mouth to talk or to possibly shout from the looks of it when someone, a male, coma out of the shadows. "You're needed now Alpha Reec

She forgot that she had to tell her something, twenty minutes after she just left her in her roomThere were no signs of struggle, the only thing missing was Amber, and her phone. The first person she went to was Matthew. She banged on his door after spending the last one hour fifteen minutes later. At first she thought it was a walk. But she found it strange because Amber said she was tired not restless. No reason why she would have gone a walk. Matthew opened the door and rubbed sleep out of his eyes. "Amber has been kidnapped" was the first thing that came out of Carmen's mouth. He looked dazed and she took that opportunity to enter into his room. "I went give her food by eight or so. She did not eat much or almost any at all. I left her when she said she was tired and needed to sleep. There was nothing out of the ordinary.” She stopped as she close in the space between them. “She seemed tired and st

FIVE DAYS AGOUNKNOWN'S POVI was pacing and boiling at the same time. Where the hell are they?Shouldn't they have been back with her body yet? What's taking these fools so long?I should have known that they weren't capable of doing anything! Incompetent idiots.I saw one of my men running in with sweat dripping down his face and he quickly fell to his knees.Bad news! I hate bad news!" What is it? Where are the assassins?" I growled at him and although he was scared shitless he didn't move back. Bold! That's how I like my men to be." The Intel we received was false sire! The assassins fell into their trap. A lot of them were killed and the rest that were injured were taking back to the castle." He spoke quickly.I yelled in anger and grabbed the soldier by his neck. Lifting him up and choking him." Who dared to do that?" I glared at him. Every nerve in me was burning with fiery rage. And I felt like I could wipe out an entire village just from my boiling rage." T-the Q…Q…Queen

I'm not taking any chances with my woman. An hour after speaking to the guard, they came rushing in. They had arrow wounds on their body and I quickly called the pack doctor to take care of them. But before they were taken to the hospital, they told me that the carriage was under attack and that it was a good thing I had dispatched the army warriors. What confused me now was that I never did that? BRYAN'S POV The hood fell off and revealed Sage with a bloodied nose and purple eyes. " What the hell happened to you?" I asked amusedly. " Warlock. He let me know just how he felt about my betrayal." He smiled but ended up wincing at the act stretched his lips, expanding the deep cut he had. I chuckled " I'm not surprised. Warlock is known for speaking with his fist and not his mouth. I would have apologized but I think you deserved it." I shrugged and stared into space. " And more. He promised to deal with me if the plan flopped. That's if, I'm still alive after this." I laughed but I could hear the sadness in his voice. " He wishes you dead?" I quirked an eyebrow. " By a million arrows. The dude doesn't know how to hide his hatred or anger " The Alpha is being they lost their generous and I'm very grateful for that but I don't think the people would be happy to have a traitor living amongst them when they eventually find out." AMBER'S POV" How's the construction going?" Raze asked as I munched on a boneless chicken." Great. The men are truly hardworking. They were digging up the ground when I got there." I answered, eating a tender chicken meat." That's good news. I hate to be this useless in a time like this." He sulked almost pouting, and I couldn't stop myself from pecking the cute lips " My lips are not cute." He glared at me." At this point, it is." I grinned from ear to ear " And don't ever call yourself useless. So what if your legs are working, note the sacarsm, it shouldn't make you feel less important. You are just as important, healthy or handicapped, to this pack." I ended, picking up another large of piece of chicken." You seem to love the chicken legs more than me now." He glowered." I love your legs too, so fat and thick." I subconsciously licked my lips " But I love the sausage between them more."His face paled " You are flirting shamelessly now?" I shrugged " Can't help it. You're not physically capable of going there yourself or monitoring the whole process, so I'm going on your behalf." " No!." " Bryan will be there. I promise I'll just watch from afar." " It's a construction site. So many things could go wrong, a lot of debris will be falling from Goddess knows where. It's not something you can predict, okay?" " I know that, Raze. That's why I won't really go close to the site. I'll be observing it from afar." I tried to explain to him but it's like sticking a boulder. He just won't budge.
