I could feel the tension from my end as the clicking of forks and knives were all that echoed in the dining room.

I had my fork in my mouth taking a bite of whatever was on my plate.

I turned to my side, to find Jess busy with her meal and then had my eyes over to Damon who had a straight face as he munched on his meal.

And then I had my focus on Ryder, Damon’s surprising distant brother.

His perfume in the air made his existence even worse.

The silence that filled the table made dinner surprisingly different from what it used to be.

I looked over my end to the other board members as they munched on their meal as well.

“So tell me Damon!” Ryder finally spoke up smiling at Damon like they were all on good terms.

Jess stared at Damon and then had her focus back on her meal.
