Angelica’s POV

“It’s just a scratch.” I argued with the pack doctor, as I tried to stand from the bed, but instantly reached for something for support.

“It’s not a scratch. You have a bump on your head with a deep gash.” Joffrey explains to me, as he makes me take a seat back on the bed.

“Then stitch me up, so that I can get back out there. My family needs me.” I told the pack doctor, knowing that the heir’s plan was to destroy my family.

“Angelica, you are not in any shape to be using your powers right now. Plus, the heir has disappeared and for all we know your powers disintegrated him.” Joffrey says to me, trying to convince me that everything was okay at the moment, but I knew better.

The heir was still very much alive, as I could still feel his powers close by, telling me that he was regrouping after he had seen that I had the power of the sunstone. I was just about to make my argument with Joffrey, when the door to my

Joffrey’s POV By the look in Angelica’s eyes, I could tell that she was concerned with me leaving the estate with her father, but retrieving the book was our only hope. The heir had grown far too strong with the telus, and even with the power of the sunstone, I didn’t know if Angelica was strong enough to take him on. She had successfully stopped the heir from getting through her father’s gates, but she had paid a price by doing so, a price I wasn’t willing to let her take again. If the book truly held the reversal spell within it, then it would save us all, and it would give Angelica the advantage she needs to take the heir down. As the witches prepared the portal, Angelica hung onto me like glue, as it was clear that she was worried this was the last time she was going to see me, but I had news for her, I wasn’t going to leave this world knowing that her life was in danger. Just like my greatest grandfather, I was in love with a Goddess,

Joffrey’s POV The familiar face slowly nodded his head to me, as to give me a sign that he was on our side, and that he was ready to help us. Alpha Jaxson at that moment let out a growl, and without warning he leaped towards the nearest vampire taking him to the ground. Realizing that was our green light, I sprang into action, gunning for the two vampires closest to me, taking them both by surprise in my human form with my vampire abilities. I wish I could have prolonged their deaths for what they had said, but there were a dozen other vampires that needed dealt with, and I had to take satisfaction in snapping the one’s neck, as I ripped the other one’s heart from his chest. Turning, I saw Frank taking down the vampire that was standing to his right, while another vampire to his left stood there in shock that he was betraying them. My eyes then moved to Alpha Jaxson’s wolf that was ripping the head off another vampire on the ground beneath

Joffrey’s POV Frank remained by the front window, as I moved around the cabin peering out all the other windows, especially the window out the back door, where I could see the grown-up trail that Alpha Jaxson had been talking about. I knew that it would probably be the way that Luna Tonya would be coming from, and I just hoped that she would make it here unscathed, as I had no clue how many more vampires the heir had within these woods. As the minutes ticked by, I felt myself on edge, knowing that it was just a matter of time before the heir’s men would be arriving back to track us. Frank had given up his cover to help us, and I prayed that it wasn’t going to affect our mission in finding my aunt and Angelica’s uncle. While I stood there peering out the back window, I heard Alpha Jaxson ask Frank, “So, how is it that you were one of them, but you fought on our side?” “I was never one of them. I was placed undercover by my Pri

Angelica’s POV Too much time was passing, and I feared the worst, as I stood outside beside my mother and Selena, watching the gate for any sign of the heir’s return. Daylight was beginning to fade, as the moon began to show itself, telling me that my father and Joffrey should have returned by now. I couldn’t just stand there, waiting on them to return a moment longer, as I knew it should have been me who retrieved the book, but instead, two people that I care deeply about were outside these gates, risking their lives for my mistake. Turning, I looked back towards the house, knowing that I had to do something, but I couldn’t allow Selena or my mother to know what I was about to do. “I’ll be right back.” I said to them, before I took off towards the house, without waiting to hear a response from them, because I knew if I turned back around my mother would know that I was up to something. Entering the house, just to make it loo

Angelica’s POV As I sat there, tears began to pour from my cheeks as the minutes began to pass, while my heart ached in my chest. All I wanted at this moment was to see Joffrey’s face once again, and to know that he was okay.A beam of light at that moment shined down on me, and I raised my head to look up to see the moon piercing through the opening in the trees surrounding me. The sunstone around my neck at that very moment began to softly glow, before I heard a faint sound of movement on the other side of the wall. Getting to my feet, my heart began to race, as my eyes focused on the wall in front of me, while fear began to consume me that the heir had sensed my presence alone within the forest, awakening the sunstone. As movement from the other side of the wall filled the air, I raised my hands in front of me, calling upon my powers, as I readied myself for whatever it was.Movement now could be seen at the top of the wall, as a hand reached over its edge, and I st

Angelica’s POV I don’t know exactly what I was expecting when we returned to the house, but I knew that the look on Selena’s face, along with Talon’s expressions right now wasn’t it. It was clear that something was wrong, as the look of dread filled her eyes, as she stood there holding the book that Alatar had left for her. Moving quickly to Selena’s side, I asked her, “What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with the reversal spell?” “There’s nothing wrong with the reversal spell, it will work, but it calls for a drop of the heir’s blood.” She explains to me, and I shake my head as I realize that was never going to happen, especially with the shield that he keeps up around him, protecting him from anyone being able to lay a hand on him, let alone get a drop of his blood. “Damn it!” Joffrey says, as he runs his hands through his hair, obviously frustrated that even with the reversal spell there was no way to use it, but then h

Angelica’s POV Holding the sunstone in my hand, I tried to focus on the tiny little speck in the middle of it pulsating, but I was finding it hard to do so with all the chaos going on outside. “Focus Angelica.” Selena says to me, as she hovers over me, making it even harder for me to focus, with all the pressure that was now on my shoulders, and the thought of Joffrey out there on the frontlines. Leaving out a growl of frustration, I lowered the sunstone from my view, before I said, “I don’t know if I can do this.” While tears began to pool in my eyes, knowing that so many lives were counting on me, but here I was unable to pull myself together. For some reason, my mind was still stuck on Mrs. Thomas, and how I wasn’t strong enough to keep her safe. Angelica’s POV My body was frozen in place, as I continued to stare into the sunstone, realizing that the heir’s blood wasn’t the sole cause of the pulse that beat in the center of it, as it now looked like it had a heart of its own. At first, I felt fear, but that fear was slowly disappearing as I began to feel a source of energy from the sunstone entering my body. As that energy seeped from the sunstone into the tips of my fingers, making its way up my arms and to my heart, I began to feel an immense feeling of love washing through me like a tidal wave. Of course, I thought it was Selene’s love, making me close my eyes, as I began to welcome it into my heart, but as I welcomed the love into me, I realized it wasn’t her love I was welcoming. Tyler’s voice at that moment begins to echo in my head, as he says, “Only my blood shall release you, combined with the love of her soul.

Angelica’s POV Stepping outside the protective walls of my father’s house, I froze in shock at the chaos that was happening on the front lawn, as the heir’s army had made their way through my father’s gates. The witches and warlocks were holding their own against the vampires, and the wolves were in full blown battle mode, scattered out on the entirety of the front lawn, holding the vampires from making their way to the house. Joffrey nor my father were no where in sight, making me believe that they were on the frontlines with my Uncle Bishop, trying to hold off the heir from entering. I knew that I had to get to them, but there was no safe direct path to make it there. Taking a deep breath, I composed myself, knowing that I had to make it passed a battlefield if I was going to make it to the frontlines where they were. Calling upon my powers, I raised my hands in front of me, before I began to make my way down the steps, knowing that on

Angelica’s POV It didn’t take long for Talon to come walking in the room, as I stood beside Selena while she went over the spell with me, knowing that it was going to take all three of us to reverse the spell that Alatar had placed on the telus. I personally had never seen such a complex spell as the one we were about to perform, but I knew that Selena knew what she was doing and had faith in her to guide me through it. “Just in time.” Selena says to Talon, as she grabs the potion she had made, while she ushers for me to retrieve the candles placing them in a circle like she had told me to do. As I placed the candles in the circle, Talon moved to stand to the north, as Selena moved the potion to the center taking her place to the south, while I moved between the two of them to the east. When we were all in our places, Selena says, “Whatever happens, don’t break the circle.” She then turned to face me, before she says, “I

Joffrey’s POV “How is this even possible?” I asked, stepping away from Angelica, towards my greatest grandfather, now alive and well standing before me. “It seems the heir’s blood wasn’t the only thing trapped inside the sunstone.” Angelica confesses to me, making Ambrogio’s eyes move from my own to her. I had my suspicions that his soul was somehow bonded to the sunstone, but I never would have imagined that he was literally trapped inside of it.“The heir’s blood?” Ambrogio asks, as if he was confused, which he probably was, since it has been many moons since he was imprisoned, and so much has changed since then. “Tyler, the vampire that had imprisoned you is dead, by my mother’s hands, but he left behind a son, which is whose blood was trapped inside the sunstone with you.” Angelica explains to him, trying to get him up to date with what is going on here now at the present time. “Tyler’s dead.” He now said,
