“Not for less! After all you’ve been through, it’s understandable,” Brandon insists.

“But wouldn’t it be better to go to the hospital to take a look?” he insists.

“No. I’m fine. I swear if I feel anything different, I’ll go.”

“Okay,” he doesn’t seem satisfied with my answer, but agrees.

The ambulance is the first to arrive, and paramedics begin to attend to a shocked Leanne. Brandon talks to them, briefly explaining what happened.

The police didn’t take long to arrive. Again, he takes the lead, explaining the situation and pointing the gun on the counter. One of them, wearing latex gloves, collects the object and puts it in a plastic bag. Then he approaches me and asks me some questions. At the end of half an hour, the officer informs us.

“Well, I’ll need you to accompany me to the station for the detective to take your statements.”

“Okay,” I agree, standing up.
