Chapter 2: What Have You Done

Night time....

Amelia sat beside her window staring at the full moon. The moment their parents went to bed, Jenner packed her little bag and left the house. She must have left the town with her so-called rich boyfriend already.

A lone tear slipped down Amelia's cheek, and she quickly wiped it off, tomorrow, she'll have to break the news to her parents about what Jenner has done, they'll be devastated, that's for sure, because Jenner was the apple of their eyes, the beautiful Jenner who the whole town admired because of her beauty, but what she didn't know was what they'll do her when she tells them, they'll probably want to kill her.

After all, she was nothing to them, she was literally the slave in their house.

She stood up from her chair, then she went to her little bed and lay down. She didn't feel like sleeping, but she had to force herself to get some sleep.

Tomorrow is the day Jenner is supposed to get married, and it was a huge wedding, Dylan Blackwood was a wealthy and powerful man who has a cold heart as well, the wedding will be done in a grand style, but what would happen when they find out that the bride eloped with her lover on the night before her wedding day, and not just that, her family also moved out on that same wedding day.

Amelia hopes her parents will agree to flee the town just as Jenner had said.

And with that thought in mind, she closed her eyes and gave in to the sleep that overcame her.

Next day...

Amelia woke up with a start, she heard someone banging on her door loudly.

"Open this door right now Amelia." She heard her mother yell.

Her heart skipped a beat, she thought her parents would have realized that Jenner was gone.

She hurriedly got down from the bed and she rushed to open the door, on opening the door, she was welcomed with Kim's hateful glares.

"G good morning mother." She stuttered.

And instead of replying to her greetings, Kim rewarded her with a slap.

"Are you forgetting today's your younger sister's wedding, she'll be getting married today, and instead of you to go wake her up and start getting her ready, you were busy sleeping." Kim yelled.

"Oh no, mother hasn't realized that Jenner is gone." Amelia thought.

"What do I do?" She panicked.

"Go prepare breakfast, then go to Jenner and help her get ready." Kim said, then she left.

"Oh no, I have no choice but to break the news to mother, I'll have to tell her, so we can all leave this morning." Amelia said, then she ran after Kim.

"Mother." She called when she got to her parents room.

"What is it you want huh? Haven't I told you what to do? Don't bother me right now, just go do the chores and help your sister, I have no time for you right now." Kim spat, her back was turned to Amelia.

Amelia almost felt like crying, but she managed to control herself, it's not like her mother has ever had time for her.

"Your mother is right, so leave here and go do the things you're supposed to do." Robert said.

"Good morning dad." Amelia greeted, but he ignored her greeting as always.

"I have something important to tell you mother." Amelia said, then she took in a deep breath.

Kim turned to face her, then she eyed her dangerously.

"Didn't I tell you this before, I have no time for you, whatever you have to say can wait, just get out already, your ugly face irritates me, had I known you would never have been as beautiful as your sister, I would have aborted you, it would have been better than giving birth to a disgrace like you." Kim cussed.

Amelia shut her eyes tightly, and when she reopened them, they were filled with unshed tears.

"I never asked to be born in the first place." She muttered.

"What did you say?" Kim asked as she didn't hear her the first time.

"It's nothing, mother."

"Good, then get lost." 

"I can't mother, I must tell you this, Jenner has eloped with her boyfriend." Amelia finally broke the news.

Kim and Robert both felt like a bucket of ice was poured on them.

"W w what?" Kim stuttered.

Robert stood up, then he went to stand beside his wife.

"Yes mother, what I'm saying is the truth, Jenner has eloped with her boyfriend, she doesn't want to get married to Dylan, and she says her boyfriend is rich too, she eloped with him last night."

"What rubbish is this, what nonsense are you saying Amelia." Robert's voice boomed.

He sounded so angry, and his voice sent cold Shivers down Amelia's spine.

"This is nonsense, you're talking rubbish, Jenner is in her room and I'll go prove it right now." Kim said, then she and Robert hurriedly went to Jenner's room.

Amelia sighed in frustration, then she went after them.

She got to Jenner's room and she saw her parents staring at the empty bed in shock, Jenner's bed was still neatly arranged, and that's because she didn't sleep on it.

Kim and Robert both turned to face her, and Amelia swallowed nothing, she just knew she was done for.

"Where's Jenner?" Kim asked softly.

Amelia went quiet, she couldn't find her voice.

"Answer me." Kim screamed. Amelia flinched.

"I'll tell you mother." Amelia said, then she explained everything that happened to them.

"W what?" Kim asked in shock.

"W what did you say?" She added.

"T that's the truth, mother."

"You helped your sister to elope with another man?" 

"I'm sorry mother, Jenner wasn't happy with this marriage." Amelia said.

Robert slowly walked up to her, and he slapped her hard, Kim rushed to her, and she gave her three responding slaps.

"What have you done?"
