Sally's POV

"How was your trip? Please tell me all about it."

I couldn't help but throw my grandfather a sharp look. "It's the only joy I've had in years,"

Pause for a moment before I continue. "Although, later on at the end of the trip, I was surprised to learn that I was a guardian." I saw how the old man flinched under my gaze as I turned my attention back to my dear grandmother. "But God knows what that means, me, a protector? I can't imagine myself protecting anything or anyone."

My grandmother, who stood right in front of me, had a pale face as if she had seen a ghost. Now, it's clear that there's something they're all hiding from me. I was feeling annoyed by every minute.

All the woman did was give me a nervous laugh. "You must be tired. Get some rest and we'll call you when dinner is ready."

She smiled as she turned my entire body towards my room and nudged me to move.

I paid attention to the request unquestioningly because I wanted to get a straight answer from both of them r

Sally's POVI wasn't sure if I wanted to eat something or just buy some snacks at the nearby grocery store. And I decided on the second option, which would then lead to me having dinner with the rest of the family.Meanwhile, I bought a tuna sandwich, fries, a can of soda, and a bottle of water to fill my empty stomach. My next destination will be the gazebo.I was feeling a little excited on my way because I hadn't been there in a long time. And on the journey, I decided to turn on my phone. The moment the widget works, the ping sound of the notification rings non-stop. What surprised me was the number of missed calls I received from Athena and a few unknown numbers. The unknown numbers upset me to the core, it was so suspicious. The only people who can contact me at this number are my grandparents Donne, grandparents on my mother's side, and Athena. No one else has access to contact me through this number but only the people I mentioned.Athena won't give my phone number to anyone b

Sally's POV"Exceeding?" I scoffed. “Wow. You're a hypocrite, you know it. Do you think you have the upper hand just because we're different on so many levels, and that makes you able to control me? You're wrong. You can never control me. But you were right about one thing, we are nothing. So stop whatever you are doing that has any connection between us, and mind your own business."He just smirked, looking smug. "Trust me, I want the same thing."My radiant eyes turned towards him without wavering. "Okay! Let's end this now."I was fuming, racking my brain for a solution. "What if I refuse?" The words easily left my lips. His slit murderous eyes suddenly narrowed at me, surprised. "How did you know about the rejection?""A little knowledge won't hurt anyone," I shrugged matter-of-factly. Now, I'm the one looking a little smug. His narrowed eyes turned curious. “What kind of rejection are you talking about?”He sounded like he knew something I didn't."Like..." I took a deep breath.

Sally's POVI don't know how long I was unconscious, but when I woke up, my whole body ached, as if I had been hit by a car, and my throat was dry as if I had been left in the desert for days without water.I opened my eyes to see Allen sitting in the chair to the right of the bed and a woman who looked to be in her forties sitting to my left. Both of them looked at me with a mixture of pity and admiration, and at the same time didn't understand why.I wanted to sit up and lean against the headboard, but the sharp pain from under my left rib made it almost impossible to move. Even when I tried to get up, the woman gently pushed me back down and spoke. “You need to rest to restore your health and lost blood. As a human being like you, it takes a lot of time for the wound to be completely healed and for you to be able to return to your daily work. So please rest."I shook my head violently in protest. “No, you don't understand. I can't stay here. I have to go."My voice sounded hoarse.

Sally's POV"I'm fine. I just need to go home." I was walking in front of her when I stopped walking again.“Do you need a ride?”I considered the idea, but I didn't want to risk exposing her, especially with Lucifer around, who was now dressed as my cousin. Uh, no thanks.“No, it's okay. Thank you. I'll see you at school tomorrow, okay?” I smiled. “Goodbye, Athena.”I turned around to continue my journey home but stopped one last time. “Hey, Athena,”Her eyes never left my retreating figure.“I have a lot to tell you about what happened during my two-week vacation.”Suddenly a beam of light hit her face. "I wanna listen. But, go home quickly before your grandfather sends a team to search for you.” We both laughed and I didn't waste any more time and headed home.-----------------------------"Where did you go?" Grandpa's voice echoed along the hallway of the house.I rolled my eyes, thank God I had my back turned to him, otherwise, he would have continued talking about how I needed t

Sally's POV“I know you've seen right through me since we first met. But from the beginning, hating you was so sweet. I prefer to wish you death.”I stood tall in front of him, controlling my emotions. I still seemed fed up with his threats. He must have been very jealous of me to make him like that, but there was nothing to be jealous of.I knew he wanted to be the next in line to succeed our grandfather because he was the first grandchild of the Donne family in the seventh generation, and I was the last.He can take the throne any time he wants because I don't want that. It will only cause me more pain. But I guess getting his ass kicked, not once but multiple times by the same person every time they met must have rubbed salt into his wounds over and over again. It hurts, I know.I smirked, trying to suppress the laughter that was about to burst. “Hey! You don't have to be cranky with me."I deliberately patted his arm. “I understand, it hurts but I can bear it, boy. It only lasts f

Sally's POVI think he was there when I choked the life out of his Alpha, not Albert. He actually sounded so bored that I had to follow them immediately without asking any more questions. It would have been a misstep for me if I didn't know who they were, but since I knew they were Ryan's friends, I figured that was okay.Athena and I got into the backseat of Jackson's car and drove away from campus. He drove us further from the town center to the remote part of town, it was surrounded by absolute nature, trees everywhere, and it was green and quality fresh air Top.As a Donne assassin, I can say that it's perfect for whoever commits crimes here, bury them in the ground and no one will find out. I chuckled at my wild fantasies, no one needed to know what was going on in my head.“Are we still far from the actual location?” That was the first question I asked since we left school.“We're almost there, I promise.” Jackson is assured.I nodded and looked out at the woods, they were reall

Sally's POV“What do you want me to do if he falls asleep?” I asked, clearly annoyed.Albert's worried gaze never wavered for a second nor did it leave Ryan's sleeping figure. “Stay by his side, show him that you are the only one who can ease all his pain and that you are truly his life partner and you deserve it.” He speaks decisively.I sighed for the umpteenth time and closed the door behind me as Alberr left me. I took my time and walked around the room as quietly as possible to see what he was like. And from the outside, he's a simple, straightforward guy, to him everything is black and white. Like Allen once said, he's a person with dense emotions. I wonder how he acts around his girlfriend.I finally laid eyes on the injured man sleeping on the bed. I want to apologize in advance to his girlfriend for coming here instead of her.I know it's silly to think like that, but this guy is in a relationship. I don't want to ruin what they have together, that would be wrong.Sitting dow

Sally's POVI laughed contemptuously. “I wonder how my father lived with you all these years.” I knew that I had stabbed one or two veins in his body, causing him to become dizzy.“Don't talk about your father like that…”"What? Huh?" I interrupted his sentence. “What will you do when I get home? Beat me to death for not being able to finish what I started? Is that what you intend to do, dear grandfather?” Note the sarcasm.“Because I expected it with all those thoughts of you tearing me to pieces and burying me next to my parents. If that is your plan then I am on my way right now and I will die in your hands.”Next, I heard the phone rustling and my grandmother's voice was clearly on the end of the line.“Sally,” Her voice was full of regret. “It's okay, you don't have to go back now. Stay the night with a friend, okay? Stay safe, no matter what, call us if there's any trouble. I love you." She said and ended the call.My grandmother is probably lecturing the old man right now. Sally's POVThree months after the devastation, to say things are back to normal is an understatement. Everyone is still saddened by the loss of half of the pack, but they are our heroes, in our hearts and our memories.I returned the next day, with my enemy's head in a sack. I asked everyone in my family if they knew what he had done and was about to do. When I asked about his parents, everyone bowed their heads in respect.Arnav informed me that both of them committed suicide because of the old Donne's rule.I need to abolish that regulation and replace it with a more reasonable penalty. They were both innocent, they were just pawns in the game and they had to pay for his actions, may their souls rest in peace. That night we held a proper funeral for them. We all paid our respects. Our allies also came to pay their respects. The ceremony was over, everyone had gone home and I stayed at the burial site and stared at Oliver's portrait, thinking that maybe I hated him just because he w

"I like hearing you say my name." His voice was hoarse.Unintentionally, she hit his chest before apologizing. "I'm sorry. Oh my God!"“Is that any way to welcome a mate who has just returned from the dead?” He was joking.Sally stared at him and said. "That's not funny at all."Sally didn't waste a second as she threw herself into his arms, crying into the crook of his neck, all the while inhaling his sweet musk. “Please don't do that again.”Ryan wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her tighter, never wanting to let her go again. “I love you too,” Her breath hitched and she buried her face deeper into his neck. After a moment, they let go and looked at each other, looking for more casualties to fi

She felt everyone's eyes on her, rage filling her entire being. “Let's capture the rogues and find Oliver Donne. Now."Sally's orderly roar echoed throughout the area. She looked around. “Can you guys link up?”It looked as if they were trying to communicate with each other through their minds, and they looked frustrated by it.“No,” Linus said. She is upset.“There is magic here, blocking all of the swarm's mental links to each other.”Sally looked at something behind Allen. “Is that my sword?”The boy nodded with a slight smile. “My mom said you'd be here, so…” He handed the weapon to Sally.“Thank you, Allen. Sally's POVMy whole life has been a lie. I can't even handle this right now. Slowly, lowering myself to the mat, I sat and stared at the flashbacks of my life before and after everything that had happened.I remember my grandmother always saying that I was royalty in their eyes, supposed to rule the world with Ryan's pack. And she continued to emphasize the two nouns, King and queen. Also, every summer vacation when I was young, my grandfather would show me off to his guests, which made me feel very uncomfortable. And it got to the point where I remember my mother having to take me for a walk every time someone passed by."And I know you saw something in your dream, Sally. You looked pale when you walked in here." She was silent for a while. "Is that your mate? Did he call you?"My silence is the answer. Even though I tried to deny the fear that the dream brought me, I couldn't, it still lingered in my mind. The image of Ryan covered in blood and pain, stuck. At least I have to know

Sally's POVThought going to bed would be the best idea for me, but turns out, it was the worst idea. Because not long after I closed my eyes, my mind took me to a strangely familiar place."Sally, help." A whisper rang out around me.Standing in the middle of a barren field, 50 yards away from me, Ryan stood sullenly, his face pale, his right fist clutched tightly to his hip.I shivered as the cold wind whipped my skin but my eyes never left him. Is he okay? Why does he look so sick? When I looked closely at his deathly curled fists, they were covered in blood. Why? Whose blood is that? It can't be his, right? What happened?“Ryan,” I called, but no sound came out. I called again and again until I was tired and my throat became hoarse. He just stared at me with pain in his eyes.He may be standing but his eyes say otherwise. The light in his eyes was gone and I wondered if it was my fault.Looking closely at him, I felt like he was gone a long time ago and this was just an illusion.

Sally's POVWhen the room became silent, the shadow moved quite quickly, as if trying not to be caught.“Do you want something to drink or something to eat?” I said, pretending to chat while Jill wrote something on paper. It writes. “There is a spy. You should be careful."I nodded in response. Then he replied through my makeup chat. “I'd love to, but I'm going to apologize and spend the week preparing for what's to come. You are invited to my coronation.”“You should be careful too.” I wrote again. He gave me a quick nod with a forced smile and left the room with his men.Kingsley turned around just as the young leader went out, quickly rushing to my left and whispering. “Something has changed here, Luna Sally.”“I know, I can feel it too.” I looked at him from a very close distance. “I need you to find someone, if he's not here that means he knows I came looking for him.”He left me in the office to plan while he went looking for the given name. Sally's POVWe arrived at headquarters three hours later, I had to match Kingsley's pace because he was such a weak bird. So as soon as my feet touched the ground, I rushed to find Arnav. "What's going on?"“The Alexander clan attacked us.”“Ub, I understand that part, but what exactly happened?”Arnav sighed first. “Goray Alexander was murdered, and the Alexander family suspects us of being the culprit.”I frowned at the news. “Why am I just hearing this now? Why did the Alexander clan suspect it was us? Do you have any other sources to find out who killed Mr. Goray?"From a maid in the house, I slipped off my coat. “Find me something, Arnav. We need to clear our names as soon as possible before something unspeakable happens.” I gave the order and went straight to my office.I was startled to see Kingsley behind me, I forgot that he was also with me. “Let's make you feel at home while I deal with all this.”He remained silent while panting from the flight and the energy he had to put

I followed a beautiful floating white orb that led me to what felt like a 5-minute walk to an abandoned warehouse.I hesitated to enter the building, but the ball went straight through the wall. Sighing, I followed it through a small entrance. As soon as I stepped inside, a shrill scream echoed throughout the space of the warehouse. The screams of a man and a woman rang out again, sending chills down my spine.Approaching the noise, I hid behind pieces of plywood. My heart stopped beating for a split second when I saw my parents in the middle of the room.My mother was stripped of her clothes and every ounce of dignity, tears streaming down her pale and bloody face.I wanted to scream and help her, but I couldn't move and not even a whisper came out. I could only cry and suppress the anger welling up inside me.My dad, on the other hand, looked completely devastated. I held my breath as I watched him cry, pleading with the men around them who look
