Cameron POV:

The corridors of the vampire stronghold were a maze of shadows and echoes, a labyrinth where every step could be a misstep. We moved with the stealth of seasoned predators, but even the most cunning hunter can become the hunted.

The plan had been simple: infiltrate quietly, locate Lyla, and extract her without alerting Noah or his minions. However, the best-laid plans often go awry, especially when dealing with an enemy as cunning and prepared as the vampires.

Our presence did not go unnoticed for long. Despite our careful movements, a sudden ambush from a vampire patrol forced us to deviate from our original plan. The element of surprise was lost, and the only option left was to resort to plan B.
