A weird encounter

Pamela:

Charles put me in his car then he got into the driver's seat, and he drove off immediately.

After a while of driving, we stopped in front of a restaurant. He got down, and pulled the door open for me.

"Are you still tired from walking?" He asked, and I shook my head.

I didn't want him to carry me on his shoulder in front of everyone. I would be too embarrassed, even though a lot of people might see it as romantic.

I came down from the car, and he shut the door then he took my hand in his. The warmth that radiated from it made me want to remain this way. I felt really secure being around him. It felt like the good old days, and the feeling that everything was gradually going back to normal kicked in, but my paranoia shook it off.

The restaurant was a fancy one. It had a lot of round tables with people finely dressed sitting on them. Most people here were couples.

"Do you want to eat here, or…"

"I'll eat here," I said.

I wanted to get some air, and being out here for at least
