Chapter 7. Can we be friends?

“Hey! Get your hands off her!” Adrian growled as he approached them with furrowed brows. He glared at Jade whose hands were still fisted in Amanda's blonde hair. She let go immediately, while Adrian stepped in with a stern expression on his face. Her eyes widened since she had no idea Adrian had been watching her bully Amanda.

Jade's heart thrummed frantically against her ribcage and she pondered on how long he’s been watching her bully Amanda.

“Don't you dare touch her!” He warned, pointing a finger at Jade, whose eyes were full of hate for Amanda. Jade scowled, attempting to appear innocent, but Adrian was not fooled. He knew they were attacking her, and he's positive it was because of a male.

Bitches like these can only fight and attack a lady when their lover has made moves on her. Perhaps Carl had his eyes on Amanda, which made them upset and convinced them that they could show their hostility against her by bullying her.

“Are you alright?” Adrian asked as he turned to face Amanda, his voice etched with concern. She nodded and he held her chin and raised her head so she would have eye contact with him. “I'm fine. Thanks for saving me,” she replies shyly, her eyes stinged with tears.

Jade was speechless; she hadn't expected Adrian to catch her in the act. When she looked forward, embarrassment washed over her features as she realized she had been bullying Amanda in front of the Asphalt Warriors motorcycle clubhouse. She didn't notice, and now she's embarrassed that Adrian spotted her bullying someone.

"Can't you be kind for once?! Why are you like this?" Adrian inquired, turning to face Jade. Taylor, the mouthy one, rolled her eyes and tried to confront Adrian, but Jade stopped her. She didn't want her to make Adrian furious because she adores him.

“It isn't what you think, Adrian. She showed up at our club and nearly created mayhem. Besides, I was only trying to ask her some questions, but she was being so unpleasant and stubborn!" Jade lied, but Adrian still does not believe her. He could see the pretension in her eyes, and he was no fool to believe her statements.

He knew she was bullying her since she kissed Carl while she was drunk at the party. Everyone knows that Jade poses as Carl's fiancée, but Carl is only interested in maintaining her as a fuck mate. He does not have genuine feelings for her, and she is well aware of this.

She's also a cheat; a two timing asshole who dates a guy and sleeps with his best friend. Adrian had seen her engage in an intimate act with Mason, Carl's best friend.

He only chose to ignore them since he wasn't a part of their team and it's obviously not his business to interfere as well..

The only thing he hated was the fact that she was trying to woo him as well.

“I won't buy all of what you're saying. It's obvious you're bullying her.” Adrian said, his voice cold.

Jade shook her head and protested, “---But you don't understand, Adrian. She's,”

“I won't listen to any of your words. This should be the last time you'll lay your finger on her, Jade. I f**g mean it!” Adrian warned before taking Amanda with him. Amanda was speechless as they strolled away from Jade and her crew. Jade's jaw dropped when she witnessed how Adrian stood up for Amanda. A pang of jealousy filled her and she clenched her fists tightly.

Amanda felt a profound sense of relief washing over her but she wouldn't deny that she was surprised seeing Adrian come to save her. Just like Carl, she had been keeping an eye on Adrian as well..

Both guys are cool and she still can't imagine that she's starting to cross paths with them.

“Thanks for standing up for me.” Amanda whispered, fiddling with her fingers. Adrian halted his movements and stopped to stand in front of her. He tucked her hair behind her ears and she could feel heat creeping up her cheeks.

“I can't stand to watch a pretty girl get bullied by bitches,” He whispered as he leaned towards her, his breath coming in contact with her skin. A blush appeared on Amanda's cheeks and she tried hard to push them back but he had already seen it.

Her breath snagged at the intensity of his gaze, whatever she wanted to say melted in the heat of his hands on her face. His thumb slowly stroked her bottom lips, his touch burning yet soft and sensual, causing her to shudder.

There was something about his touch that sparked a fire within her. ..

“Tha—” He placed her finger on her lips to cut her off across her words.

“You don't have to thank me. My name is Adrian. You're Amanda right?”

“Yes.” Amanda replied, not preparing her mind for his next question.

“Can we be friends?” Adrian asked and her eyes went wide a little as his words registered in her brain.
