DREADFUL MISTAKE
I’m sorry but, Carl Adams gave up the ......

Diana gasped and jumped out of bed, there was bids of sweat all over her forehead and down to her neck. It was the same nightmare again, she hadn’t dreamt in awhile and now it was back.
It felt so so real, more realistic than the previous ones she had been having, she had to do something about these nightmares before she goes crazy.
Diana held her face with both hands, tears trickled down her cheekbones, she still couldn’t get everything that happened out of head; she could easily continue the dream in reality as she knew exactly what happened when the doctor came in.
It been four months, and Carl and died of a heart disease; a sickness he didn’t tell anyone about, not even his own mother. Diana had cried her eyes out that day at the hospital, she had created a scene when she started rolling on the floor with her wedding gown.
However, things got really complicated when Carl’s father brought out a nine millimeter pistol and pointed it at her inside the hospital, even with the gun pointed at her; Diana remembered clearly that she was ready to die at that moment. She wanted him to take the shot, at least she’d be with Carl in the nether world. The gun didn’t in anyway scare her at that moment as she had giving up everything, death was worth it.
Nevertheless, even if she wanted her own death; her parents didn’t want it. They stood in front of the gun, protecting their daughter who was at the same time screaming for Carl’s father to pull the trigger. The hospital security helped situations and retrieved the gun from Carl’s father, both George and Benita and sworn right there that they’d kill Diana where ever they saw her, even as the security guards took them out, they kept swearing and yelling.
Diana had to flee the city following the orders of her father and that was how she ended up in Ohio, living alone and having the same nightmares at least once every week.
She hadn’t gotten over Carl, his face, scent, everything was still very fresh in her mind. Men had been approaching her, but she ignored every single one of them. Diana was battling pain deep inside her but she tried much harder to keep it off her face.
In Ohio, she had been searching for a job for the past four months and she had just gotten one yesterday at the most popular club and bar in Ohio. The pay was pleasing and Diana thought it would distract her from thinking too much. Even as a graduate of economics, Diana wasn’t ready to work in her field at the moment; because she wouldn’t be able to think creatively or perform official duties.
The bar seemed like the perfect place for her, she’d get to drink, get distracted by the crowd and talk to different people but she was still going to ignore men though.
Diana wiped the tears on her cheekbones as she got out of bed, it was exactly 10am, she wasn’t in a hurry, her job time was 4pm.
She strolled sluggishly to the bathroom, the cold concrete soothing underneath her feet. This was one of the cheapest apartments in Ohio, although it wasn’t bad. It was a five storey house with up to sixteen apartments, Diana was at the top and last apartment.
The small apartment only had a sitting room, a small dining beside the sitting room, a bedroom, a cozy kitchen and one bathroom in the bedroom. It was the typical apartment for the middle class.
Diana wasn’t all that rich, and her parent weren’t either, her rich husband died on the day of their wedding and there was no way she could claim anything from people who wanted her head on a platter.
She splashed cold water on her face, staring at the mirror; her hair was rough and her eyes were a little swollen, even though she had enough time to take a nap at noon, Diana was always afraid of her stupid dreams, they occur both at noon and at night.
Diana heaved a sigh as she stared at her beautiful self in the mirror, to her; she wasn’t beautiful anymore, not with her man gone. Today was going to be her first day at work and she felt somewhat tensed, it had been four months since she interacted with so much people.
The fact that she was going to be wearing something skimpy and sexy throughout the time she’d be working at the bar was also creepy and would attract a whole lot men to her, it wouldn’t be easy to ignore every one of them. The dress was to attract customers but it also attracts customers with special intentions.
Diana sighed again, whatever happens; she was going to ignore them anyways. Men who comes to bar or clubs, doesn’t expect to find a woman to date, they’re always looking for a one night stand, and she clearly wasn’t going to be doing that. Not ever.
She ran her hands through her red hair removing the hair bonnet she was wearing, the silky hair flowed down, balancing on her shoulders and down to her back. She was one of the rare humans with red hair and blue eyes, the red hair was from her grand mother but the blue eyes was a family trait.
Diana pressed the toothpaste on her brush, she had to get ready for the day.

“I didn’t know he was going to escape boss, i tried all i could but my efforts were useless. He was skilled in driving and he seemed to know the city well,” Simon explained, his head was bowed to the ground and he held his hands together behind him.
That was the way to speak to the leader of the most notorious Mafia group in Ohio, unless you’d want to loose your life in an instant.
Freddy Litteman was the leader of the most notorious Mafia group in Ohio, he was a short man as his name implied. Judging by his appearance and stature you’d think he was just an ordinary short Little man, however; Littleman was evil and he was feared greatly.
“I paid you to carry out the job Simon King, i paid you because i knew you were capable, i paid you because you are someone we’ve been using to carry out assassinations for long. What then are you telling me?” Littleman groaned lightly, he was trying to light up his marijuana. One of the guards beside him quickly brought out his own lighter and lit it up for him.
Smoke filled the room immediately, Simon held his breath but he inhaled the smoke before he could try, he hated the scent of marijuana; makes him nauseous.
“I’m going to find him boss, I’m going to find him and finish the job, he wouldn’t have gone far,” Simon stood his ground, his head still bowed to the ground, he had fucked up a mission. This was the first time since he started working for Freddy, he had no clue what Littleman would do.
“I’m afraid that wouldn’t be possible anymore Simon King, the man you failed to assassinate his a ghost, that’s what we call him; he knows how to vanish from the face of the earth. You blew our only chance Simon King, what shall we do?” Littleman stood up from his chair strolling towards where Simon was standing, puffing out smoke all over the room.
Simon heart beat started to increase little by little, it was now he realized that he really fucked up, the money he was paid. He had used it all.
“I’ll do anything you wish boss, i would do anything to make it up to you,” Simon forced the words out of his mouth, he wasn’t sure of what he said but he had no more words to say, that was the only thing that came to his mind.
“Yes Simon, I’ve only one thing that you’d do, and i want it immediately, if not; there’s no telling what might happen. “ Littleman whispered, he was standing right beside Simon but he wasn’t even reaching his shoulders. Simon tried not to meet with his eyes as it would only cause more trouble.
“What would you have me do?” Simon asked, he was ready to do anything considering the fact that he no longer had the money in his possession.
Simon’s wife had cancer, and he had been doing assassinations just to pay for his wife’s treatments even though it didn’t look as if she was getting better, but Simon wasn’t about to give up just yet. Till the day she’d pass out from this world, he was going to do all he could to prolong her stay. He had quickly used the money he was paid for the job for his wife’s treatments, and he failed to complete the job. All he could hope for at the moment, his for Freddy to give him another job.
“Give me back my money Simon, that’s what i want you to do, and i mean right now,” Littleman whispered again standing beside Simon, he then continued his strolling, puffing his marijuana.
Simon was shocked at his request, his heart beat increased drastically; he wasn’t expecting the boss to request for his money, he had gotten himself into this mess by failing to complete the mission and from what he knew, Freddy wasn’t a man of patience.
“Boss, please give me as many jobs as possible, I’ll carry them out to makeup for this, I’ve don’t have the money anymore boss,” Simon went on one knee, his head still bowed to the ground, convincing the bloodlust Mafia leader was all he could do now. Although he knew the success rate was very very low, but it was the only choice he had.
Freddy chuckled strolling back to his table, he took a long drag at his almost finished marijuana and threw it on the floor, stepping on it to take out the fire on its tip as he released the smoke inside the room.
“I’m going to ask just one more time Simon King, where is my money?” Littleman said calmly, but it sounded so evil and creepy.
There were six guards inside his office, three standing behind his table and the other three standing behind where Simon King stood.
Simon was dumbfounded, from the tone of Littleman’s voice he knew there was no changing his mind, the more he tried was going to piss the leader off. There was no way he could get the money he had already paid to the hospital. This was getting really out of hand, there were only six guards inside here but hundreds outside. He wouldn’t be able to fight his way out with that number, no matter how skilled he was; Simon thought.
“Give me few days and I’ll get you your money boss, this isn’t a request; it’s a plea.” Simon answered after almost a minute of silence. It was the only idea he could come up with to escape from here at this moment.
“I don’t listen to plea Simon, Hatake!!!,” Freddy called loudly, he was still facing his table and was trying to light another round of marijuana.
A man with a mask on his face entered the room immediately, he was dressed like the other guards; they all wore suits, but there was something different about him and it wasn’t the mask, instead of a gun; he was holding a sword. From his name, Simon could deduce that he wasn’t American, he was definitely Japanese, his name and the sword confirmed it.
“I’m here shisho [Master],” Hatake replied sharply.
“Show it to him,” Freddy ordered, puffing his just lighted marijuana all over the place.
The masked man brought a tab from his inner pocket and showed it to Simon King.
“Your wife is at the hospital and we know she’s suffering from cancer, i would be so generous to put her out of her misery if you don’t provide my money this instant Simon,” Freddy concluded and turned over to face Simon who was looking so stunned and fear was written all over his face.
The footage in the tab showed Simon’s wife sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed, but there were two of Freddy guards there, both of them pointing their gun at her. Simon heart sank, he never told Freddy about his wife since he started working for him.
He had no idea how Freddy found out everything, he even knew the hospital she was in. They had been watching him, Simon’s heart was aching and beating at an abnormal rate.
“What is it gonna be, Simon King?” Freddy whispered dryly again, an evil grin curled up his lips....
Simon eyes were glued to the tab, he could see how peaceful Joanne was sleeping, oblivious that her death was about to be quickened. He wished he had super powers, but wishes weren’t horses. Even though Simon was an ex marine; which explained how skilled he was in assassinations, he was still not strong enough to escape the situation he was in, if he tried to struggle; his wife would be executed instantly. And if he didn’t provide the money Freddy was asking for, he could loose his wife too. Freddy was an impatient and evil man, wasting a human life seems just like killing off an ant. Simon King was an ex marine of the United States of America, he was a man in his late thirties; everybody was surprised when he decided that he was retiring, he had served for fifteen years before he filed for a retirement after a near death experience in Afghanistan. Most of his colleagues had died either in emergency wars or during secret operations. Simon wanted to be with his wife, their one year
Tears trickled down Simon’s eyes when he heard the gunshots that came from the tab, he quit his struggle and the guards let go of him. He fell on his knees again and tried all he could to fight back the tears, but it was possible this time. Simon’s head was on the marble floor, the scent of the old wood went through his nostrils as he wept. He was boiling inside with anger and rage, there was no way he could take on this many guards but Simon was about to loose his cool and doesn’t care if he died here or not. There was no joy in living anymore. Freddy filled the room with his marijuana again, there was an evil grin curling at the side of his lips, he looked at Simon and heard his weeping; he never seen an assassin cry, not over a wife or child. This was the first, assassins were humans without emotions, their job doesn’t allow for emotions; else they wouldn’t be able to carry it out. He wondered how Simon murdered people but still has this much love for his wife. Understanding wou
Simon coughed and gasped, his eyes were heavy and blurry; the back of his head hurts like hell. It was all a dream after all, the sex; it felt so real. Why would he be having such a dream during a situation like this, although it wasn’t just a dream, it was like a perfect reshoot of when he first retired; that was the first sex he had with his wife. However, his dream had modified some parts. It was an intense romance that day, you could imagine what it was like not having to touch a woman for years, he gave his all and fortunately, his wife was ready for him. She gave him one of the best welcome home sex. His vision started to clear bit by bit and the pain behind his head reduced, even though his vision was clearing up, he couldn’t see much. It was still dark, that was when he remembered. “Joanne!” Simon called out weakly, struggling to get out of the rubbles he was in. The mafia gangsters had dumped him in a refuse area, which was in between tall buildings; nobody would ever fi
Nick quickly stop the engine of the truck and got out in a hurry, holding his gun holster as he ran directly to the hospital. The nurse that called him started towards the entrance when she saw Nick coming. Nick followed her, she was going to take him to the scene. He had to be very cautious, but there was no way Nathaniel would have been an assassin; the hospital was still very calm and activities were going on normally, it was like the news haven’t gotten to anybody except the staffs of the hospital. If Nathe was an assassin, the gunshot would have created chaos and there was no way he would have escaped unless he passed through the front entrance. Nobody noticed them as they went past the reception. “This way Mr. Officer,” Nick heard the woman saying as she hurried down the hallway. He followed her quickly from behind, very at alert; one hand was on his holster. The nurse finally entered a room, Nick sighed; he retrieved his Beretta from the holster and entered the room, taking
Simon quickly raised his head to see who it was, to his surprise; there was no body at the door. He must be hallucinating, he covered his face with his hands again and continued his weeping.“I’ll avenge you Joanne, i promise,” Simon muttered through clenched teeth, there was this pain he felt; a kind of pain you feel when you couldn’t do anything to save the one you love. If he was going to avenge Joanne’s death; he would need to devise a plan, killing Freddy Littleman wouldn’t be easy. ***Diana cleaned the counter of the bar once again, she had done this hundreds of times since she began working that evening. The drinks keep spilling on the counter, she was not used to pouring drinks for customers. This was her first day as a bartender in the Simpsons; everywhere was bubbling with lights. Not just lights, but different color lights. The DJ was making the crowd go crazy as they danced merrily on the dance floor. The nightclub was a very large open space, Diana knew nightclubs li
“How can you say that loud Julia?” Nick complained, he felt irritated; she had just blown his cover, now Diana wouldn’t give him any listening ears, she now knows the truth or have an idea that he was having an affair with Julia. “Nobody heard it Nick, just the three of us, what’s the big deal,” Juliana answered reluctantly, pouring herself another round of Johnnie Walker’s, she stole a glance at Diana. She doesn’t seem so surprised. Juliana did it on purpose, Nick was starting to have this funny conversation with Diana and she couldn’t help but disrupt it. This was the exact reason she never wanted a colleague, but the boss insisted. Diana just kept mute, it wasn’t as if there was anything she could say either; but it was now obvious. She saw the reason why Juliana was dressed like an escort, she actually did the escort job or maybe Nick was her boyfriend. There was no way Juliana would be that blunt if Nick was her boyfriend, Diana thought. She just had to keep watching. “Fuck t
Diana knew she heard Julia say something, but she didn’t get it; she had concentrated too much on the chitchat with the customer. She moved her gaze towards Juliana and to her surprise, Julia was walking towards her. Diana almost thought she was coming to her, not until Julia walked right past her and went out of the bar. Diana’s gaze followed her as she walked straight to were Nick was sitting, she grabbed him by the arm and walked away from the counter; they went straight into the dance floor and that was were Diana view got to. “Hope everything’s fine?” The man she had been chatting with called out when he saw that Diana was looking at the dance floor area with confusion on her face. His voice startled Diana, she had completely forgotten about him in just that instant. “Oh! Sorry, everything’s okay,” she gasped, and placed a fake smile on her face. “Is there anything else i can get you?” Diana added, still stealing glances at the dance floor, she wondered where they disappeare
As she kissed him, Juliana remembered the first day Nick requested for sex; she was unbelievably scared and quickly denied the fact that she was an escort. She was really shocked that a policeman was asking to hookup with her, it seemed like a plan to arrest her. But Nick assured her that he wasn’t going to arrest her; he gave her the opportunity that if he does, she could report him for smoking and drinking on duty and on uniform. That was were it all began, her entanglement with the police detective. Her lips seemed softer than normal, and her tongue were soothingly warm as it danced with his, she moved her waist back and forth as she kissed him passionately, the way she moved her waist around was charging up his rod. There was nothing else in Nicks mind, even the thought of Diana had drowned; this woman whom he had had sex with severally was suddenly giving him romance at a level beyond normal. He had always gave her sex with the thought that she was just a mere escort, but as
“How did he get down here.” Hatake voice was furious, it was certain that he’d be frowning behind the mask that moment. “He kept insisting that Fred knew him and he was the son of Ryan Fisher, the second notorious mafia in all of Ohio and was forcing his way through,” the guard responded. Freddy wanted to speak when the door creaked open, and Gonzalez walked in. “I did forced my way in, because my dad was kidnapped because of you.” He said walking inside the large room uninvited. Hatake was about making a move, but Freddy waved him off, trying to sit up on the large bed. “Go on Hatake, I’ll deal with this,” Freddy said, his gaze focused on Gonzalez who wasn’t smiling. Hatake stared at Gonzalez for a few seconds, then his gaze shifted to Freddy and then to the guard that was standing close to the door. He then started walking out of the room, hastily. Gonzalez watched him from the side of his eyes, as Hatake passed by him, he wondered just how good he’d be in actual combat. Fredd
“First, you’ve to tell me what really happened, Nick and I guess we’d have to fill Angelina in too, she’s looking so confused,” Simon said, glancing at Angelina. She nodded positively at him, still confused. Nick sighed, he placed his hands on his face for a few seconds, then he went over to Simon and started losing the rope they had used in bounding him to the chair. Simon felt the pain on his wrist ease out a little, he couldn’t be more happy that Nick agreed to his plan without making a fuss. This plan would help him solve all the problems in his life, with a price of him going to prison. He’d make sure he opened up to Diana before he was thrown in there. “I was almost there when it happened, but I was late. When I got there, Diana had already been carried inside the vehicle. Julia was with her, it seemed she was pushed or something. She was bleeding at the back of her head, when I got to her and they were already gone,” Nick narrated, as he finished losing the rope. “ I’m rea
“What the hell are you doing here Angelina?” Nick bellowed, scanning her from head to toe. Why was it the moment when Simon was ready to spill everything that she came rushing in, now he might decide to change his mind. He was almost there, and Angelina just blowed everything up. Maybe he didn’t really need a partner. Nick thought, frowning. Simon sighed, glancing at Angelina, she shouldn’t be here with the way she was looking. “I’m a detective too Nick, I’ve informants; one of them just told me that Ryan Fisher and one of his workers, a woman named Diana Flames has been kidnapped by unknown people. They only saw Diana being kidnapped, Fisher didn’t show up at work but his car was later found, his guards were dead but his body wasn’t there, which explains that he had also been kidnapped. That same informant told me you arrested Nathe, and that’s why I’m here, he saved my life Nick. What are you doing?” Angelina narrated everything without taking a breath. Nick covered his face in
“Hello there, guess you’re awake. Don’t worry, we’re not gonna hurt you, if you cooperate with us.” The masked man accent could absolutely tell you he was Japanese and the sword he was holding also somewhat confirmed it. “Who are you people, and what have I done wrong?” Diana felt the sharp pain at her nape as she spoke, her head was aching one sidedly. “When he’s awake, he’s going to answer that himself, for now. We need to clean you up and have you prepared while we have the chance,” the masked man said, walking over to where Diana was and he started losing the rope tied around her hands. Diana was confused, who was this “he”, the man was talking about, her mind was filled with the pictures of Gonzalez, it could only be him. How did he get back to town without the police knowing, and tried to kidnap her twice, even after losing two of his men. “I don’t want to see your boss, please; if you let me escape, I’ll give you anything in return,” Diana struggled as the masked man loosed
Julia screamed loudly, when she saw what was done to Diana, fear surging through every fiber of her being, one of the masked men pushed her because of her screaming, she staggered and fell, hitting her head on the street light pole, losing consciousness instantly. Nick had driven past the Simpsons club when he heard Julia’s scream, he increased his speed, driving to the direction of her scream, his headlights showed Julia collapsing beside the street light, while a car zoomed off. He quickly hit the brakes, and jumped out of the car pointing his gun at the vehicle that was already leaving his sight, he couldn’t even make out the plate number anymore. Nick brushed his hand through his black hair, walking hastily towards Julia, he squatted and raised her head on his lap, tapping her cheek lightly. “Julia, Julia,” Nick called, but there was no response, he felt her pulse, she was still alive. That was wen he realized the moist texture flowing at the back of her head. Blood! Nick’s
“Hey babe,”Nick frowned a little at sound of the word, she was moving too fast, he only had the sex to make her carry out this small mission, he hadn’t agreed to take her back fully. Even though he was more willing to take her back than he was before, but the thought that Diana was still out there and was being bodied by the mother fucking Simon was still eating him up. “What do you have for me?” He went straight to the point without replying to her pleasantries. “You could at least say hi,” Julia sounded a little concerned, Nick could imagine her furrowing her brow or rolling her eyes. “Okay hi, just give me the information already, there’s an emergency,” Nick replied, tapping his desk involuntarily. He heard Julia sigh on the other end and then the name came through. “Simon King, that’s it.” Julia said, her voice a little low than she was speaking previously. “Got it, gotta go now, bye.” Nick hung up the call before Julia could respond. He wasn’t ready for casual talks, not t
Freddy walked slowly down the ridge that led to the lakeside, the beach was quiet and entirely deserted, it was midnight, no one was expected to be there. He had six guards, armed to the teeth, three following behind him and three moving ahead of him. He was puffing out smokes from his marijuana as he walked; they came down the beach, only to hear a man’s yell from a far distance. Freddy immediately knew who it was, it was Ryan. “Over here Freddy!!” The guards started walking towards the direction of the yell on Freddy’s orders. As they got close, they could see him clearly. “He’s bounded sir,” one of the guards in front called out, raising his hand in a fist to halt their movement. He glanced backwards at Freddy, waiting for instructions. They were just few meters apart from each other, Freddy popped his head out to get a clear view of Ryan, he had been suspicious of this whole situation from the very start, he had wondered and thought why Ryan would call him out here just to t
Diana kept stealing glances at Julia, she had been smiling brightly all night, it seems something good has happened, but she wasn’t going to ask. They haven’t been talking to each other for quite awhile, and Diana didn’t want to be the one to approach Julia this time, the last time she tried, she was scolded. But, to her surprise; Julia did come to her herself this time, after the counter was a little free from customers, Julia came close to Diana where she was wiping spilled drinks from the counter. “Hey Diana, why aren’t you wearing an elegant smile today, did your little boyfriend offend you?” Julia started, her eyes glowing. They hadn’t spoken for some time and here she was acting like nothing ever happened between them, Diana stared at her surprisingly for some seconds before she replied. “I don’t have a boyfriend Julia, I should be asking you the opposite of that question. You seem to be in a good mood today, want to share the good news?” Diana responded, waiting anxiously f
Holding Julia very tightly, Nick released the whole thing inside of her, he then pushed to the couch panting, Julia was also panting heavily, they laid there, without uttering any words, just the sounds of their breath filling the room. Nick didn’t want to admit it, but there was no doubt that he had certainly missed this woman, the thoughts of giving her a second chance was clouding his mind, but he couldn’t quickly decide now, he might not be thinking straight. After he had finished up all of his cases, he would make his final decision, for now; all he needed to do was play the game. “I’m going to do it Nick,” Julia was the first to speak, she was staring at the ceiling as if it was what she was speaking to. “I’m going to get Simon’s other name,” she completed bringing her gaze down to Nick, whose eyes were fixed at her, with a small smile. There was no need for him to say anything more. ***Simon had been thinking about who would want to kidnap Diana, he couldn’t come up with
