"Get me the pacemaker." Dr. Bart raised his voice above the beeping monitor, and Nurse Julia scurried to get it from the ward where instruments were kept.

" Pass me the defibrillator." Dr. Bart ordered, as her pulse began to drop rapidly. Nurse Cindy connected it and he placed it on her chest.

Amelia jerked as the shock coursed through her, causing Dr. Bart to relax a bit. He placed it on her chest the second time, and her upper body jerked in response. He felt for her pulse which was a tad bit louder than before.

Just then, Nurse Julia returned with the pacemaker, " Here it is, sir." She placed it on the sterilized table.

" Let's watch her for a few hours." He replied instead and watched the monitor lines move in a regular pattern. Thankfully the loud beep had reduced.
