Chloe left work tired from organizing Francis's files and saw a car across the street. She did a double take to see if Marilyn was behind the wheel and when she was able to make out a male figure she dismissed it and drove out of the parking lot. She was headed to get more paint and had decided to look for a light blue color for the bathroom. She had the feeling that someone was following her and so she changed lanes and took a long detour to the store. She pulled into a spot and gathered her purse, keys, and phone and as soon as she stepped out of her

Chloe had slept very well in Liam's arms but woke up alone. He was gone on his way to Chicago, and she would be without him for a whole week. She found her package from Kyle that had her calendar in it on the kitchen counter and wondered when she had put it there. She ignored it, grabbing a drink of water then got washed and dressed in her yoga gear and headed out the door just as Kat pulled up. She stumbled over some black roses and did a double take. They weren't in a vase this time, and there was no card they were just scattered all over her doorstep and along the sidewalk leading to her door. She shook her head and decided to ignore them. "Hey, Chloe!" Kat greeted as Chloe hopped into her car and they headed out of town toward the yoga studio. "You look really good today. Kinda like you slept on a cloud."

Can you tell me your name?" Josh asked her. "Hello, Josh. Mrs. Chloe Ellen Harris, I'd prefer not to give my age, but you already know it pretty well at this point." Chloe told him groggily. "Mrs. Harris, how do you feel?" Josh asked, flashing a light across her eyes and evaluating her well being. "I could be better, but I'll be okay." Chloe looked across the parking lot to where the Lovey-dovey's had been flung. "How are they?" "Could be better but I hope t

"Give her a call then put her in holding cell three." Detective Porter said with a sigh, still rubbing away whatever was eating at him with his eyes closed. Detective Brownstone nodded at Chloe and took her down the hall around the corner and sat her at a desk. Chloe recognized it as Brownstone's desk, having sat there before. Brownstone released the cuffs and nodded at the phone. Chloe went to reach for the phone then paused. While she was upset about Porter's nonsense, it was still bothering her that Monroe had actually hit someone this time."Um, I have a… a concern." Chloe started then looked up at Brownstone. She looked around the room quickly noting a couple of guys hovering over donuts and another random guy clearly sleeping with his head tilted back at a desk in the corner."No one's listening." Brownstone assured her.

Kyle asked walking into the room."It's the perfect view of everything. The Bridge and the Empire State Building. I love the Empire State Building and just the whole city right here when you go to sleep and then when you wake up. It's gorgeous.""Mmm." Chloe thought at long last something good would come of all this turmoil she had been through. She was tired of all the craziness and just wanted to have a night where she didn’t have to think about her dead husband, or neighbors, or the neighbors brother stalking her and running her down. “Aaahh..” Jax had somehow already stripped Chloe down to her bra and panties and had been squeezing her breasts like two stress balls before he pinched her nipples hard. “Can I?” Jax suddenly stopped and asked in a hoarse voice if he could take her bra off. Why now was he asking? He hadn’t asked about anything else.

It was the house Veronica lived in with her mother, Gerri before they both got married and moved out. Gerri had gotten married and moved an hour out of town and left her house to Veronica. Later Veronica married Nicki and moved around the corner from Chloe. Chloe had never thought to ask what had happened to the house and Veronica never mentioned it, but here it was exactly as she remembered it. The furniture was the same though a bit dingier and the carpeting, wall fixtures, everything was as it had been when Veronica lived here. It didn't make sense to Chloe. Surely they would have taken their things with them and whoever the new owners were wouldn't want pictures of Veronica and her mother on the walls. Chloe blinked and noticed
