Time passed by in a blink of an eye, then the day of his wedding came.
Tyler entered the car once it was opened by his chauffeur. "Let's go," Tyler said in his commanding tone.
The chauffeur wasted no time and drove off to the military base as he didn't want his boss to be late for his wedding.
When Tyler arrived, the wedding ceremony began right away as if they were in a hurry.
The corner of Tyler's mouth twitched slightly, he knew his cousin was in a hurry thinking that he would change his mind at the very last minute.
Once he stood at the very end of the aisle. A musician played the wedding march.
The door opened once the music began, revealing the bride and General Max standing beside her.
Everyone present in the wedding were wondering why the veil was so thick that it was impossible to see the face of the bride.
Someone who was standing near Tyler could not hold back, commented. "I heard a rumor that she's an ugly duckling. Perhaps, that is the reason behind her thick veil."
Tyler turned his head toward the man who spoke and shot him an icy gaze.
Intimidated by his gaze, the man lowered his head. He scolded himself for not containing himself.
After a while, finally, the bride was standing before Tyler. Even in their proximity he couldn't see his bride's face and that made Tyler frown a little.
'Is her face so hideous that she's covered with a thick veil?'
"Take care of her," Max smiled and placed the bride's hand on Tyler's arm.
"I will," Tyler answered, his face carrying a faint smile.
The bride put her other hand over her hand that was holding Tyler's arm.
Tyler could feel that she was trembling and the coldness of her hand seeped through his thick military uniform.
He leaned sideways. "Nervous?"
"Yes," she answered softly.
Tyler was surprised to hear her pleasant and soothing voice.
After 10 minutes the wedding ceremony was over and the officiant declared them as husband and wife.
The officiant asked Tyler and his wife to sign the marriage certificate. Max and his wife signed as their witness.
"You may kiss the bride," the officiant said after the signing of the marriage certificate.
Reluctantly, Tyler lifted the veil. He ducked his head and went under the veil.
He had no intention of kissing a stranger, an ugly duckling at that.
His eyes narrowed upon seeing his bride's face. "You’re Jade Leitner?"
Stunned, Jade Leitner's beautiful face paled considerably making her look ashen. She couldn't open her mouth to say something and just nodded her head.
Right away both Tyler and Jade's minds traveled down memory lane, revisiting the past.
One fateful night a few months back.
As Jade's eyes landed on the man who had the most perfect and handsome face - tantalizing hazel eyes, straight nose, luscious lips and perfectly chiseled jaw.
Describing the man in one word. He's an Adonis.
Jade's heart stopped beating for a second.
For a moment, Tyler was stunned to see a beautiful woman burst into the room without warning.
Tyler regarded the innocent beauty before him with his wintry gaze that could send a bone chilling effect.
'I've already refused an escort, why are they sending me another one? Did they think that I prefer an innocent looking slut?' Tyler muttered under his breath as Jade inched forward to him.
All of the sudden, the door opened, one of the two men popped his head round the door to search for the woman they were chasing.
"Check if she is here," Jade heard the familiar voice, snapping her from her daze.
The next second Jade was on the man's lap and pressed her lips on his while her arms wrapped around his neck.
Tyler froze as soft lips hovered his lips and was oblivious that he held her waist as her vanilla scent assaulted his sense of smell.
The men left right away after seeing that the woman they were searching was not in the room and saw a couple kissing.
Jade was discovered by the men to be spying on them. So they chased her.
But they lost track of her as they didn't notice her entering the restroom when they were chasing after her.
In the restroom she quickly changed her clothes and removed the wig she wore before heading back to the bar.
Although she changed her clothes and removed the wig, she still made sure she wouldn't be caught so she resorted to kissing a complete stranger.
She gave her first kiss to a man she didn't know at all rather than to be in danger.
"Who are you, what are you doing here?" Tyler asked in an icy tone after recovering from his shock making Jade shudder.
"Sir, please let me stay here for a while. Some men were chasing me, let me hide here for a while," Jade begged Tyler with her tear filled blue eyes imploring him.
Because she was panicking, Jade didn't realize that she was still seated on the man’s lap.
"Tyler?" A female voice sounded at the doorway before Tyler could interrogate her.
Simultaneously, Jade and Tyler looked at the woman who spoke.
"Sophia?" Tyler could see the hurt on Sophia's face, she was on the verge of bursting into tears.
"Get out of here," Tyler harshly pushed Jade and she fell to the floor.
Jade scrambled and went out of the room.
"We have to tell Jason about it. The boy should not be kept in the dark. No matter what, that is his mother," Jade said and sighed. "If he wants to see her for the last time, we'll allow him," Jade said again. They can't change the fact that Sophia is Jason's mother. If he wants to see his mother they will allow it. Jade felt the need for Jason to see his mother for the last time so he could get closure. As usual the dinner table was lively as the family bantered while they're having dinner. The family practice the stiff table manners among the aristocrats when they're having dinner with outsiders. But when they were eating with their relatives they didn't follow the stiff table manners. Tyler and Jade didn't want their kids to feel like being shackled. "Jason, mom and dad are going to talk to you about your mother," Tyler said while the family was seated at the patio after the meal. Timothy, when he heard it, being sensible, he stood up and about to leave but Jason stopped hi
Morning came, Jade abruptly sat up. As soon as she woke up she remembered Jason. "Hey, easy," Tyler's voice rang out. "Baby, is Jason back? Did you find him?" While she was surrendering herself to oblivion last night, she heard him promise to find Jason. "Yes," Tyler answered but the glum in his face made Jade's breathing erratic, she staggered backward. "What happened to him? Where is our son?" Jade was starting to panic again. "Answer me!" Jade said when he didn't answer. "Calm down, baby," Tyler pulled her to him. He swallowed. He doesn't know how to tell her that Jason received a hard beating from Sophia and the boy was in a coma and hadn't woken up yet. "How could I calm down? You're not telling me where my son is?" Jade was a sobbing mess. "Shhhh, alright, calm down first and I'll tell you," Tyler stroked her hair. "Tyler, please hurry up and tell me. I want to see him," Jade pleaded. "We found Jason last night, but he's in the hospital now. Sophia treated him brutally
Hatred flickered in the gray orbs of the young boy as he stared at the woman called his mother. Not once did he feel loved by her. Even when he was in her womb, she did not consider the effect of her vices on his health. In his mother's heart he wasn't a person at all. He was just a tool. A tool she could use so that she could keep Tyler. The woman his mother was berating, the woman who wasn't related to him was the one who surrounded her with unconditional love. The love he craved from his mother was given by Jade without an ulterior motive. Since the day Tyler took him back Jade did nothing but to make him feel loved and accepted. It wasn't for a show. With or without people surrounding them Jade was consistently kind and loving to him. The same love she showered Timothy and the twins was the same love showered to him by Jade. Jade hasn't carried her in her womb but in the heart of the boy, Jade is his real mother. "You! Why do you look at me like that? Did she brainwash you
In the morning, Jade walked into the kitchen with a limp. She gulped when she saw the back of her man. His tight fit t- shirt and joggers defined his broad shoulders, slim waist and perky butt. His muscles flexed with every move he made. "Didn't you have your fill last night? Have you?" Tyler chuckled, snapping Jade out from her reverie. Slightly annoyed, Jade rolled her eyes and snorted. Tyler chuckled and continued cooking. The kids and Jade were already at the table when Tyler was done cooking. Timothy and Jason praised their dad for his cooking skill. Tyler was smiling from ear to ear due to the boys' approval. "I'll take the boys to school and be back after that," Tyler said while he nuzzled her neck. "Aren't you going to the company?" Jade asked while she brushed her hair. "I've been away for four consecutive days, I would like to spend time with my wife," he kept nuzzling her neck. "Today is your day off and I have to grab this opportunity to have you all myself while
A confused Jade walked out of the hospital flanked by bodyguards. Once seated on the rear passenger seat, Jade fished out her phone from her bag and called Tyler. "Babe," Tyler's voice came over. Jade took note of his tired voice. "Is something the matter? Why did you send bodyguards to pick me up?" Jade tried to speak as calm as she could but her words gave away how she felt at this time. "It's Sophia… She's on the loose," Tyler didn't want her to get frightened but he won't let her keep in the dark. He wanted her to be vigilant. "How? The correctional facilities have tight security, how did she manage to escape?" Jade frantically asked. Her breathing became erratic thinking about her four children. Now that Sophia is at large, the children would be her easy target to inflict damage to her and Tyler. "Her parents were able to get a court decision to transfer Sophia from the correctional to a mental institution due to her mental illness," Tyler answered. "Jadey, Sophia is a cr
Wilson Heinrich was placed on his cradle after being fed. Jade took the name of her youngest son from his adoptive father Wilson and Heinrich, the man who saved her from those who sought to kill her. "Why are you wearing a long face?" Cecilia cast a question to Jared innocently. "You should be in a festive mood because your nephew and niece are delivered safely," Jade said, wearing a sad expression as if she was offended. But deep inside she was just trying to pry on his love affair. "No, I am very happy!" Jared forced a smile. "Spill it!" Tyler said when he saw that he was forcing a smile. "Alright!" Jared lifted his hands in surrender. Tyler could read him easily and couldn't hide from him. Furthermore, he needs sound advice. "It's Gwen," his shoulders sagged as he mentioned her name. Jade and Cecilia shared a look."She's leaving and going back to Germany," he sighed. "So?" Cecilia reacted as if she didn't know anything. "I fell in love with her." Tyler's lips twitched.
