The poor are always a lousy set of people that get entitled to a rich man's wealth. If he fails to deliver, they call him so many outrageous names that he wouldn't even expect. So, the poor are always tagged ungrateful.

The whole community is rowdy, because of many people that uses the route. Different kinds of domestic animals could be seen roaming the environment.

Their poo; always smelly, are seen all around the area and that has been a part and parcel of a poor man's life.

"Good morning ma," a young beautiful lady approached the seller at the super market.

"Good morning," the seller responded with a terrific look.

"How much is this bread," the young beautiful lady asked the seller.

The seller smiled inaudibly to mock her within her heart, "that bread is just 700," the seller said knowing fully well she wouldn't be able to purchase it.

The young lady smiled, "take and pack the bread for me," she whimpered from her cavity.

This amazed the seller, 'people change,' she expressed. Without wasting time, she went in, packed the bread in a decent nylon and rushed out hurriedly.

"This is it," she stretched the bread towards her.

"Thank you," the young lady responded and immediately handed over the 700.

The seller nodded her head while the young lady takes her leave.

Lucia Montess is a young beautiful lady. She is tall, pretty, dark and has a curvy shape with a sexy eyebrow.

She sighed within herself and walked hurriedly, 'i musn't get home late. They would be really hungry,' she said within herself.

Not long after, she arrived home. The house is perfectly built with a tashed roof. It wasn't decorated at all. It's blocks are not walled, it just looked somehow.

She stared at the building for some time while her face laced up with a smile, 'at least we have something to eat today without anyone puking at us,' she emptied within herself and walked in gently.

"Welcome," Lucia's mother whimpered from her cavity with a smile ravishing out of her face.

Her dad; Montess laced is face with a smile as she placed the bread on the ground.

"Thank you mummy. At least for today, we will have something to hold our belle," she expressed with lots of hope and satisfaction.

"Something is better than nothing, daughter," she responded with an absolute smile on her face.

Lucia chews her cord while she stared into the void for some time.

Mrs. Montess walked into the house hurriedly to get something.

"Why is mummy rushing inside?" Lucia asked her dad who was sitting silently waiting for the food to be served.

"I gues she wants to get a groundnut," he answered with a brief smile on his face. His stomach grunts out aloud, showing the level of his hunger.

Lucia laughed a bit, "mummy is coming soon. Just relax," she expressed to calm her dad.

After a while, "sorry for keeping you waiting," Mrs. Montess rushed in with a bottle of groundnut, "I quickly went to get this so that this meal would worth it," she explained.

"Don't worry mummy. Daddy is a lot more hungry, cut daddy's bread for him," She expressed within her cavity so that her mother would quickly give him his cut.

Mrs. Montess laughed out for a moment, "a quick one Lucia!" She opined as she stretched the bread towards her.

Lucia collected it and quickly hand it over to her dad so that he could start eating.

"Thank you so much," he appreciated and started eating the bread without waiting for groundnut.

Mrs. Montess quickly divided the remaining bread, making sure it is enough for their belle.

She picked up the groundnut and poured it into everyone's hand.

Lucia gulped some groundnut with the bread with a smile on her face, "delicious!" She echoed out of her lips, calling the attention of her parents.

"It's indeed delicious. I love the combo," Mrs. Montess voiced with a smile.

After a while of eating the meal, Lucia is done with her's. She stayed to watch her parents eat slowly.

Her dad is almost done with his.

After a while they were all done eating. Lucia went inside her room to relax herself.

Mrs. Montess walked outside to gather some things.

Mr. Montess walked out gently to do something quickly.

"Will you shut up, woman! How dare you speak to me in such manner?" A young rich man puked at Mrs. Montess with great anger.

"I should shut up? Do you realize I am old enough to be your mother?" She said being surprised with the way the young guy spoke to her.

"Should I bury my head in the earth just to address you? You are nothing. You trash!" He puked terribly.

Lucia could hear the conversation going on outside her wall. She walked out of her room with great anger.

Mr. Montess is not yet back from where he went to.

"Who is that stupid stout?" Lucia lashed out with just beholding the scene.

The young man laughed out, "oh, you come to side with your mum. You should be ashamed of yourself. A big girl like you still staying with her mother and you have the audacity to puke at me?" He laughed out loud for a while.

"You…" he didn't allow her to finish when he cut in.

"Shut the crap. You belong to the slum," he emptied and immediately walked into his car.

Before Lucia could speak, he drove off.

Lucia closed her eyes while her body boiled with rage. Her eye was laced with water; she is about to cry.

Mrs. Montess feels so embraced. She couldn't say a word but walked into the house gently.

Lucia did the same thing while her thoughts ran wild within her, 'a big girl like you still staying with her mother,' those words echoed within her mind.

She walked into her room gently and locked her door. She cried vehemently like a toddler would do, 'a big girl like you still staying with her mother,' that word echoed within her head.

She laced her hand on her hair and scattered it with a thorough scratch. She couldn't control the tears coming from her eyes.

After a while, she stands up and packs her things gently preparing to leave the house, 'where will I go?' she asked herself while numerous thoughts went through her mind.

She stared at her clothes for a while and scattered them abroad, 'I can't take these insults anymore. I need to do something meaningful with my life,' she cried aloud, because she felt terrible.

She could see an iota of truth in what the young man said, 'I shouldn't be living with my parents under the same roof to be sincere. I am old enough to start my life,' she cried the more because the tears wouldn't stop coming, as she thought of those terrible words.

So many thoughts run through her mind. She nodded to herself, 'what do I need to do?' she questioned herself.

"Come out Lucia. Your dad is around," she heard the voice of her mum.

Lucia is bent on not coming out to see any one. 'I have to think about my life,' she thought to herself.

"Come out Lucia . Your dad is around," her mum puked again and this time she has started worrying about her only daughter.

"She is not responding," she said, turning to face her husband.

"I know she is not. The young guy must have passed an extreme insult at her. Let her be," he explained to her.

Mrs. Montess nodded her head but was quite surprised at her behaviour. 'This is not the first time she would be insulted like this. Why is she taking this up?' she reasoned within, but no one could provide an answer to her questions.

Not quite long, the day ended with bliss.

"Good morning mummy," she voiced with a smile on her face. Lucia was the first to wake up among them.

Mrs. Montess' mouth widened with shock, 'wow! What a transformation," she reasoned within herself. "Good morning," she answered quickly.

Mr. Montess nodded his head with a smile. Oftentimes, that's how he responds to greetings.

"Anyways, I will be going out to hustle today," she puked and walked out of the house with her life savings to begin a small business that would better the family's life.

"I guess she changed," Mrs. Montess voiced. Her voice could show vividly how surprised she was.

"We can't really say. Let's see how things go for the next few days," Mr. Montess said, expecting less from their daughter.

"I am heading to an important place today. Do take care of the house," Mr. Montess vocalled from his cavity.

"Ok," she nodded her head in response to what her husband had said.

He walked off hurriedly. Mrs. Montess walked into her room to lay her back comfortably on the small bed.

'I have gotten a store before. I have to stock it,' she reasoned within herself as she walked down the road gently.

'I believe everything is going to be fine,' she smirked and walked gently.

Not long after, she reached the junction where she would board a cab, 'i pray I see a cab quickly,' she said to herself, but the road is dry. There is no single cab taking that route.

She felt so empty, 'will I go back home?' she asked herself. 'No.. no.. no, I can't go back without getting anything,' she whimpered courageously.

She stared into the road. No sign of a cab coming. She decided to trek with her leg. Her mind began to calculate terribly, 'will owning my shop alone save my family?' she asked herself, thinking of the shop's potential.

Her thoughts ran wild within her, 'i don't think that would be enough,' she reasoned wildly.

She felt a slight pain within her leg. She banged it on the ground while her eyes searched for something to sit on. She looked around keenly just to find a place of solace.

After a while, 'thank goodness,' she  expressed happily as if she had won a jackpot. She walked hurriedly towards the stone and sat her ass  on it.

'Hmm,' she sighed heavily as if a burden was lifted off her head. She felt so relaxed and chilly.

She looked up, 'there are shades," she tossed within herself with a heavy smile. 'I guess the creator loves me,' she expressed.

Her heart was filled with lots of joy. After a while, her mind shifted to what she had been thinking, 'what do I do?' the question echoed within her head.

Not long after, an idea struck her mind, ' I need a job,' she retorted while her head swivelled around a circle.

'That should be a cab,' Lucia tossed, haven heard the sound of a car approaching the junction she stood for quite some hours.

She stands from where she is sitted. She walked as fast as her leg could carry her, 'it's a cab,' the smile on her face kept rediating.

She stopped the cab, 'gosh! the cab is almost full,' she said within herself with a smile.

The cab moved rapidly and before she knew it, she found a very big mall; very classy.

'Wow!' she expressed within herself with a huge surprise.

"Please stop," she stopped the cab and dashed out of it. She handed over the cash in her  hand to the cab driver.

The cab driver drove off quickly.

'This is the real deal,' she said with a big smile all over her face. Merely seeing the building made her feel she has made it in life.

'I know they will offer a good pay,' she whimpered from her cavity. She stared at the building from afar admiring how gorgeous it looked.

'Wow… wow,' she muttered within herself.

She sighed heavily, 'this is my chance,' she voiced within herself and mustered a lot of courage.

"You slapping the girl was the first thing you did wrong," Nathan answered as he sipped his martini and dropped it slowly. "You shouldn't have slapped her just because of what she did. You shouldn't even slap a woman at all." Wilson looked at his best friend like he had betrayed him. "Have you forgotten how she replied me?" Wilson asked angrily. "Oh, Lucia, drop it close to the China cups right there," Thomas said as he began dusting the glass cups on the shelves. "And drop it carefully. It is breakable and very very expensive." Diana nodded as she dropped the vase cautiously beside the China cups Thomas had told her to. She sighed in relief after dropping it as the vase was very slippery. "Done with cleaning the vases, sir" Lucia said to Thomas. "What next do you want me to do, sir?" she asked as Thomas turned to face her. "Just take some rest, okay?" he said as he motioned for her to sit down. "You have done enough for today. “What was that?” A panicking Mrs Benita asked as she turned her direction towards the noise. “You both stay here. I'll go check it out” Lucia volunteered. By that time, she could notice some people hurriedly walking towards a particular direction and followed suit. The loud sound came from what looked like an accident, but a lot of people were already gathered, making it hard for her to see.“What happened here?” Lucia asked after a failed attempt to squeeze her way through the crowd. “It was a hit and run incident ma'am. A truck collided violently with a poor old man, and he's bleeding profusely. I pray he doesn't give up the ghost” a stranger answered. Although Lucia couldn't tell who the accident victim was, she felt a sense of unease in her. This was her first time being close to an accident scene. Where she came from, they were hardly cars, and the road was pretty bad, preventing speeding of the few vehicles around. Soon enough, there were sounds of ambulance blaring, follo

“Good day Ma'am” a police officer who was accompanied by his fellow colleague greeted Lucia, cutting her from her thoughts. “Good day Mr” a confused Lucia answered politely. “Please, call me officer John. This is officer Jack. We were around at the site of the incident and wanted to ask you some questions. This can enable us to hasten the search process” officer John explained. “Oh, okay…” Lucia answered. “If you will, please follow us to this corner” Officer John said with his hands gesturing towards a corner, a little away from where she sat. “From what I heard, I believe you are the daughter of the deceased. Is that right?” the police officer asked. “Yes Sir” Lucia replied as she leaned towards the walls of the hospital out of tiredness. “Please can we get your name?” He asked. She looked at the security man standing before me and wished in her heart of hearts that she would just make him pause for the moment. That however wasn't possible, so she heaved a heavy sigh. “My n

Shortly afterwards, Sandra returned with an energy drink and glass cup, accompanied by three policemen. At the sight of the men in uniform, Wilson's eyes rolled at 180⁰ and he let out a loud groan. “You all could have just let me have my drink in peace before coming to disturb me” Wilson whimpered from his cavity. “I now understood what you meant boss” Sandra remarked, pointing to what Wilson earlier mentioned. “I don't know what it is this time, but three policemen putting on a frown means trouble. Should I let them in, Sir?” Sandra asked as she served him the drink. “Allow the gentlemen in. While you're at it, fetch me Jim and that idiot Henry. I'll also need you to be present. Go as fast as possible and be back before… five minutes” Wilson said, looking at his watch, and then fixing his gaze on Sandra. “Officers... please, come in and have a seat” Wilson exclaimed, putting on a fake smile to hide his vexed mood. “We're not here to have a seat Mr Wilson. Never had anyone knelt down before him, now to talk of holding clinging onto him. He saw Henry's act as a way of saying he was wicked and heartless as onlookers watched the scene and left shaking their heads. “Please Sir” Henry's voice croaked. “Let go of me this instant

It wasn’t until the taxi driver’s persistent voice brought them back to reality.“Hello? The open speech she made had captured the attention of many, spreading like wildfire across social media. Afterward, she went on with Mr. Thomas to pick up whatever they had planned to get at the market. Her emotions were still tingling from the confrontation, but she politely requested to be shown the full video of the press conference that had triggered her anger in the first place. As she watched the video, her fury reignited. "I can't believe this guy," Lucia muttered under her breath, her voice shaking with emotion. "He has all the money and fame, and he uses it to manipulate people, to turn them to his side. Meanwhile, people like me are left to suffer alone. He tried to bribe me with that money, but he sure has his way of sweet-talking out of trouble." Lucia and Mr. Thomas had decided to stop by one of the busiest and most popular sub-streets in Chicago, a place well-known to the city’s middle class and poorer citizens. They needed to pick up a few things for the family.Earlier on the train, they had excitedly planned a mini feast to celebrate a successful deal with Mr. Benson. The feast was only possible if they visited the market, so they had made a quick detour before heading home.Mr. Thomas, who was such a sweet gentleman, respected the “ladies first” rule and allowed Lucia to lead the way. The scent of spices mixed with the smell of fresh produce was everywhere, while vendors called out to potential customers, their voices competing for attention. Lucia had always found this part of the city oddly charming, despite its chaos. But today
