Athena's POV

"Damian?" I called out, my initial joy transforming into shock, my heart thumping rapidly.

"Wear these," a soldier handed us oversized clothes, clearly belonging to them.

"How did you find us?" I inquired of Damian.

"I've been tracing your trail since you disappeared, but you've always been a step ahead," he replied.

"Thank you for saving us, but we need to go."

"You seem to misunderstand the situation, you're my prisoner," he announced, a smirk playing on his lips.

"What?" Ulf and I exclaimed in unison.

"You killed my mother, remember?"

"I did not!" I retorted vehemently.

"Okay, look. She may be your prisoner, but it has nothing to do with me, so I'm leaving," Ulf declared.

"Yes, you don't need her," I pleaded.

"I can't let her go, she'll tell others where you are," Damian said nonchalantly.

"Please, Damian..."

"Bring them along," he instructed his soldiers.

Placed in the middle, we walked until reaching their camp, where we began a journey fraught with tension.

Athena’s POV I stood apprehensively in front of Damian's house, nervously gulping as sweat formed on my forehead. "Are you okay?" Ulf inquired. "Yes. Just some bad memories," I sighed deeply. "Let's get this over with as soon as possible," she advised. I nodded, and Damian ushered us in. I couldn't help but wonder how Ashina would react upon seeing me. "Take them to the guest room," Damian instructed a servant. "We're sharing a room?" Ulf questioned. I rolled my eyes and gestured for us to follow the servant. The guest room was spacious, featuring two beds. Ulf slumped onto one of them, and I couldn't shake the feeling that this visit would stir up more than just memories. The room boasted a wardrobe and two dressing mirrors, with an additional door leading to the bathroom. "Now I see why he needed you for wealth," Ulf insulted. "Come on, it's not bad," I giggled. "This is just a bathroom in Stormwind," she exaggerated. "That's why my husband is the wealthiest Alpha," I de

Let's rest now,” I urged Ulf, who was already lying down in her bed.It was late afternoon, so I settled onto the comfy bed, soon drifting into sleep.Amid a peculiar dream, I found myself bleeding, the blood flowing down my thighs. Alarmed, I screamed.“What is it?!” Ulf jolted from her bed.“Just another nightmare,” I managed to utter, touching my baby bump to ensure I was okay.“Another?” Ulf a

Ulf criticized."Oh, you mean Zeeb. He can be nonchalant sometimes.""Remind me why Ashina needs a personal bodyguard like him," I air-quoted it."She is a Luna, and some might be jealous of her, attempting to harm her.""Really?" Ulf rolled her eyes, suggesting boredom."It was her idea, wasn't it?" I asked."What are you two saying? Are you implying, Oh! Come on! She is my mate?" he added."When is the doctor coming? My ankle is on fire," I diverted the topic."I've already called him, he will be here any minute now.""Okay," I replied, and he turned to leave."One more thing," I stopped him."Did you tell Ashina about my telepathic ability?" I asked."Yes, I explained to her how you can uncover the murd

Seeking support, I leaned against a sturdy tree, the cool bark grounding me.Ulf's wolf had subdued hers, the air filled with the distressed whimper of the captive. Summoning my voice, I addressed Ulf."She won't run anymore."Ulf shifted to her human form, the girl shifted as well but remained curled on the ground."Thanks, Ulf. I would've collapsed before reaching her," I acknowledged, and Ulf reciprocated with a high five, both of us catching our breath."Now, tell us everything," I demanded from the trembling girl."I know nothing," she mumbled, but time was a luxury we couldn't afford.I assisted her to sit up, her back against a tree, while I squatted in front of her, urgency driving my actions."Do you recognize me?" Athena’s POVWe acquired the dresses on Damian's tab and proceeded to get the wine Ulf suggested before returning home.By the time we arrived, it was late. After a quick shower, we gathered in the dining room for dinner.Ashina was conspicuously absent, and Rollin, the once fearful servant, served Damian's meal. After dinner, I felt a mischievous motivation to tease Ashina. Deciding to go alone, I left Ulf behind and knocked on her door, entering before she could respond. The scene I walked into, with Ashina and Zeeb, her bodyguard, raised eyebrows. She sat in front of her dressing mirror, clad only in a towel, while he stood behind her, hands resting on her shoulders.Despite the questionable position, I opted to play ignorant and engage her in conversation."I didn't allow you in," she retorted, eyeing me through her mirror."I didn't realize you needed a bodyguard in your room this late to keep you safe,"

My baby had already gone through enough with me, I shouldn't risk consuming alcohol just to gain an advantage."After snatching Damian from me, I thought it was because you love him," I scoffed."What?"“Why can't you drink with him? Does he irritate you, or are you just being a chicken hiding under a pregnant woman?" I pushed her."How can you say that?" Damian asked."Well, clearly, she doesn't love you. She only wanted to be Luna," I declared with a serious face."I'm under no obligation to prove anything to you," she fired back."Of course. I know everything, so there's no need for that," I said, taking a sip of herbal tea."Fine, I'll drink a few cups with you," she said to Damian, and I smiled.Ulf continued her drinking battle with Zeeb, the bodyguard, while Ashina engaged in the competition with Damian, her eyes fixed on me

Athena's POVFive years later… As the evening sun cast its golden glow upon us, I found myself drawn once again to Tala's grave, my hand instinctively resting on my swollen belly as I settled onto the grass beside her final resting place."Hey, dear... I'm sorry I haven't visited for a while. A lot has been happening," I began, my voice soft as I spoke to the silent earth beneath me. "You know, as the head of the council of Alphas, it's been hectic, but I enjoy it," I chuckled softly, the weight of my responsibilities tempered by the knowledge that I was carrying new life within me.Bringing out the water bottle I had brought with me, I took a sip before carefully arranging the forest flowers I had gathered on Tala's grave, a small gesture of remembrance and love."You know, I miss you Tala," I continued. “Let me tell you what had been happening, Ulf is still carrying her duty very well. Whiterun is now a full pack... Can you believe that?" I asked with a hint of disbelief in my voi

I resolved to visit my Uncle before our departure. With the shaman departing at dawn, farewells were exchanged.Choosing to leave our child in Ralph's care, Ulf joined me to go see my uncle. The werewolves we encountered along the way cast peculiar glances my way. Ulf reassured me, claiming it was likely fueled by rumours that I needed to grow accustomed to, a phenomenon potentially exacerbated in Stormwind.Arriving at my Uncle's residence, the state of disarray suggested distress, yet he seemed to be managing admirably. "Uncle," I enfolded him in a prolonged, tight hug, reluctant to release him. Ulf extended her greetings as we settled into the couch in the somewhat chaotic sitting room."To what do I owe this visit?
