Chapter 55 (Homeless)

Athena's POV 

After the havoc I wrought, escape became my only goal, a ceaseless journey with no peace. I struggled to change to my human form but I couldn't, leaving my wolf's fatigue palpable with every step.

A trickle of blood stained my arm, a mystery considering the wolfsbane's usual venomous touch. I wondered what peculiar type of werewolf I was.

As night covered my path, determination compelled me forward until midnight when exhaustion forced me to collapse under a tree, tears of frustration escaping me.

Shifting back to my human self became an imperative need. But despite my efforts, I couldn’t. 

"You, my wolf, show me the way back, tell me how to shift" I implored, met only with silence, deepening my despair.

"Tell me, I beg you!" My desperate plea echoed through the night, unanswered.

Was I condemned to this beast's existence? And why this unresponsiveness from the wolf within?
