She wanted to let Nia feel her father's love while it was still there.

It was not until Nia saw her and called her 'Mommy' in a soft voice that she walked in with a smile.

"When did you come? Don't you dare to come in?" Josiah looked up at her, then lowered his head and continued to tell Nia the story.

Meredith did not answer his question. After placing the food on the bedside table, she poured out the soup inside.

One bowl should be enough.

"Are you hungry, Nia? Do you want to eat the soup made by Mommy?"

"Yes!" As soon as she heard that there was soup, Nia immediately stopped listening to the story.

Josiah closed the book and put it on the head of the bed, still letting her lean against his arms.

"How is Nia today? Are you feeling better?"

"No, I still feel unwell." Nia leaned into Daddy's arms and coughed a few times to show that she was not feeling well.
