“Are you scared of me?” Aiden suddenly asks as he drives, and I take sometime to think about it before I shake my head no.
“Why do you think I’m scared of you?” I ask and he turns to stare at me “Why don’t you tell me? You agree to let me drop you off at first then suddenly you start giving excuses.”
“I panicked.”
“Huh?” he probes and I sigh.
“I panicked okay? You’re one of Hollywood’s biggest stars and you’re suddenly showing interest in me because you needed a lighter for your cigarette. After you went back I couldn’t wrap my head over what had happened and I started panicking that I’d come across cheap so I decided to lie so I can preserve my remaining self worth.” I say all in one breath and when I’m done he gives a soft chuckle.
“You never came across as cheap to me, and yeah I only approached you because I needed a lighter but it’s sure as hell not why I’m driving you home.” He said in a low tone as he reaches for my hand and the sparks I felt before seems stronger and I withdraw my hands quickly once again.
“So why are you driving me home?” I inquire and he turns to look at me before turning back to the road “Because like I said you’re different and it’s a huge turn on.” He says and I crinkle my nose.
“So it’s a sexual thing?” I prod and he shakes his head “Not entirely..” he begins “But it’s part because I know that you feel it when we touch, how our bodies respond to each other's.”
He traces his fingers in slow circles around my tigh and I shiver pressing my legs together as he squeezes them before removing his hand.
“Don’t.” I say, my voice coming out in short gasps “Don’t do what?” he asks feigning ignorance even as his hands have managed to get under my shirt and is trailing a pattern on it, leaving hot lava wherever he touched.
“You know there’s something between us..you can’t deny it.” He breaths and I shake my head. He was right, I couldn’t deny it because I knew it from the moment he called me by my name and my legs turned to jello.
“How old are you?” he suddenly asks changing topics as be drops his hands, “That was suddenly random.” I tease softly and he laughs “it just suddenly occurred when to me that while you probably know mine, I don’t know yours.” He replied.
“And why would I know yours?” I questioned and he gives a shrug “Well you know who I am..” he begins “And how does that translate into me knowing how old you are?” I cut him off.
“You could’ve googled it, there are tons of information about me on the internet.” He says simply and I nod.
“You sound like you might have googled yourself.” I remark and he glares “I have never googled myself, I find it to be a conceited act.” He retorted and I shrug “Concluding that I must’ve browsed about you makes you a conceited ass.” I hiss and he mutters something under his breath.
“You still haven’t told me how old you are.” He states and I chew on my bottom lip, wondering if I should tell himy real age or not.
"Don’t do that.” He mutters and I turn to stare at him raising a brow in question.
Rather than replying he takes a finger and runs it over my upper lip before using his hand to free my lower lip from my teeth.
“You have no idea what seeing you do that does to me do you?” he whispers.
“Twenty three.” And this time it’s his turn to raise a questioning brow “My age.” I whisper still feeling the sensation of his hands on my lips.
“I’m twenty five.” He says and I nod still as I continue to gather my still scattered wits.
“So I’m guessing you’re the owner of Sizzle and Steam right?” he asks and I nod “Just you alone? Because you mentioned a partner?” he prods and I shake my head “I own fifty percent of Sizzle and Steam. Cameron my partner owns the other fifty percent.” I explain.
“So do you order all those pastries from another store or one of you bakes?” he asks and I shake my head “The pastries come from my pastry shop Lily’s.” I replied and he nods “So business must be going well for you to have two right?” he asks and I laugh.
“Lily’s used to be my grandmother’s, I learnt all I know about pastries from her so when she passed on, I inherited it, but it wasn’t doing well financially and there were notices of foreclosure from the banks, that was when Cam came up with the idea to start cooking for money, people liked it well enough to be rehire and refer us. In essence Sizzle and Steam was established to keep Lily’s afloat. Took lots of time and effort but it’s worth it.” I say and he nods.
“How about you? Are you now going to be just an actor alone?” I question and he shakes his head “ No..although my musical career began through acting, so when I was offered the acting role James; my manager decided a comeback into the movie industry won’t be such a bad idea.” He responds.
There’s a bit of silence that’s at the same time both awkward and comforting. After we both catch ourselves stealing glances at each other, Aiden chuckles while I go red.
Biting my lip, I turn to ask him if I could tune the radio when he growls, “I’ve told you not to do that.” And I quickly release my lip muttering an apology.
“We’re here.” I mutter seeing the familiar building of my cafe. “You live in your cafe?” he queried and I shake my head quickly, “I live in the loft above it.” I explain and he nods.
“Thanks for the ride.” I say as I unbuckle my seat belt and grab my bag getting ready to leave. Just as I’m about to open the door and step out, he pulls me back inside.
“Hadley.” He calls in a voice that makes me quiver, turning around to glance at him, he uses my chin to tilt my head up while his hand has once again found its way into my shirt and was running his fingers down my spine.
“Hadley.” He calls again in an even huskier tone that has me clamping my legs together, I can feel his hand leaving my chin and caressing my face before it moves to my head, running through my head.
His face moves closer to mine and I know what’s going to happen next and before I can move, he does; placing his lips right on mine.
His lips are pliant and soft moulding perfectly well against mine, letting out a moan, the hand that’s in my hair comes back to my face.
“Kiss me back.” He murmurs and it’s enough to get me moving. Shifting closer to him, I kiss him back with enough fervour, opening up to him when he bites my lips to let me grant him access inside my mouth.
Growling, he drags me out of the passenger seat and onto his laps, as he moves from my mouth and moves down my neck licking and sucking before biting the skin on my neck and sucking on it.
Releasing a moan, I let my hands roam under his jacket needing to feel him, still not enough I place my hands under his shirt and feel all of him, grinding myself on him while he kneads my breasts.
I suck in a sharp breath as he rolls my hardened nipples between his fingers, grinding myself harder against him needing more friction between us while he lets his hands roam over every curve.
I feel like I’m loosing my mind, making out in a car with a man I just met “Don’t think, just feel Hadley.” He says as he kisses me on my neck, sucking on the skin, and I do just that, feel all the wicked pleasure that he’s giving me with his hands and lips, pressing myself closer to him till I feel my bra get unhooked then I start thinking.
“Hadley?” he calls probably feeling me slipping away “I’ve got to go.” I whisper and he cups my face “Hadley..” he begins but I cut him off removing his hands from my face.
“I’ve got to go now Aiden. Thanks for the ride.” I whisper softly before grabbing my bag and running out of the car.
He calls after me but all I do is quicken my pace and unlock the door before entering and locking it. After some minutes, his headlights disappear and I let out the breath I’ve been holding.
What have I just done?
The smell of coffee wakes me up and I drag myself out of my bed knowing that there was only one person that had access to the loft. “Sleeping beauty is finally awake.” Cam says as I step into the kitchen and slump on the chair “Good morning to you to.” I mutter accepting the cup of coffee he places in front of me. “How long have you been here?” I question and he shrugs, “About an hour or two.” He replies taking the seat in front of me.“Someone forgot to text when she got home so I had to get here earlier to ensure that she's still alive.” “Sorry.” I mutter as I use an elastic band to tie my hair up. “What’s that?&r
“Sorry we’re closed.” I yell from the kitchen as I hear the bell signifying that there’s a customer chimes. When it doesn’t make the same noise indicating that the person hasn’t left, I pick up a small kitchen knife and slowly step out. “I said we’re closed.” I say as I move to the counter, “I heard you loud and clear.” A familiar husky voice says from behind me and my breath hitches as I drop the knife and turn around slowly. Standing in front of me,clad in black jeans and a gray tee shirt, his herbal cigarette in between his lips is Aiden Wilde who’s frowning at me. “We’re closed…You’ll can place your order and pick it up tomorrow though..” I force myself to s
“So are you and Aiden now a couple or what?” Cam asks as I knead the dough for pizza and I shake my head “We’re not anything.” I say and he frowns. “Didn’t you say that you guys agreed to..” he begins but I cut him off “To take things slow and see where it goes. We don’t have any labels yet.” I finish and he wiggles his brow “Yet huh? Meaning you’re hoping that there will eventually be a label.” He remarks and I frown.“Yet meaning that I’m hoping that I don’t regret it.” I correct and he simply rolls his eyes. “Potato, Potahtoh..same thing. Where’s he taking you to tonight?” Cam asks and I shrug, “Just said to dress well.” “And
“You hired a limo for tonight?” I blurt as he hands me a glass of champagne “I’m insulted that you’ll think that I had to hire one when I own a limo.” He corrects and I nod. “Let’s play a game.” I say and he raises a brow “Thirty questions each.” I add and he folds his arms “What’s in it for me?” he asks and I frown “I’m asking what I get out of playing this game.” He says making air quotes “You get to know me?” I say but it comes out more like a question. “That’s the whole point of taking you out on a date Hadley. To know you.” he points out emphasising the words know you. “So you don’t want to play?” I ask lamely and he shrugs “I’ll play but it’ll have a twist. Every question ans
“So what do you want to know about my past relationships?” he asks and I chew my lips trying to figure out the most less obvious one. “How come they never lasted beyond three months?” I finally ask. “Someone’s been googling me huh?” he asks and I nearly choke on my wine in an attempt to defend myself. “I haven’t, Cameron did though and he read some of the information he saw to me.” “When?” Taking a deep breath I bite the inside of my cheek “The next day after we first..” I begin trailing off. “Made out in my car?” he asks and I instantly turn red, “You don’t have to be so casual about it.” I mutter. “Three months is how long I can take before I grow tired of them, plus t
“Thanks for a wonderful evening.” I tell Aiden as he walks me to the door of the cafe and waits while I unlock it. “I had a great time with you Hadley.” He murmurs while I try to still my shaking hands and frantic heart long enough for me to open the door. Giving up, I turn to him sighing and he chuckles before taking the key from my hands and opening the door. “Thanks again.” I murmur but still not moving, and he nods waiting for me. Exchanging the feet that’s balancing my weight, I bite my lip and a soft growl from Aiden has me releasing them and finally speaking. “I don’t usually do this, but would you want to come inside for coffee? Or tea, you know you being originally British and all, but if you don’t want either choice there’s always cold beer, I’m sure I’ve got some from the last time we watched the match at my
“There’s your man..” Cam says for the tenth time today as Aiden passes and I frown “He’s not my man Cameron so please stop saying that before anyone else hears you and get ideas that they shouldn’t be getting.” I say smacking the back of his head as I pass. “He’s not your man but you let him mark you.” He states in a matter of fact tone and my hand immediately go to my neck. “Haa‼ you just proved my point that you let him mark you because your concealer game is on point.” He says and I throw a dishtowel at him which he catches “You’re an ass.” I state and he grins.“I’m you’re favourite ass though.” He argues and I scoff, “Not anymore, now you’re just a plain ass.” I retort and he hums “That may be but I’m a fine piec
“Does anyone know about this place?” I ask turning to Aiden and he shakes his head, “So how’d you know about it?” I question and he shrugs.“This was one of the first locations I did a movie in as a boy, during breaks like this, I’d wander about to get away from everything and one day I stumbled upon here and the rest they say is history.” He explains and I smile “So this is like your secret hideout?” I ask and he nods. “Kind of, but it’s a secret hideout that I’m willing to share with you.” He says and I grin “For your kindness, you shall be repaid with this doughnut.” I say handing it to him and he bursts out laughing. “What else did you manage to carry in those pockets?” he asks biting into the doughnut and spi
I go back to the dance floor all the while locking my gaze at Aiden who’s still holding my gaze. As the music starts, I begin dancing, slow at first before increasing my tempo along with the music.Still looking at him, I cup my breasts together, pushing them out even more squeezing them before I eventually release them.I continue dancing as I stare at him, making all sort of sensual movements as I move my body to the beat. The music eventually stops and as anther one comes on,I dance my way to Aiden. And this time without waiting for me to,he parts his thighs and I insert myself in between them. “Did you like this one? It was specially for you.” I say as my hands moves up to play with his hair. “So much baby, I loved seeing you dance for me. Loved how you put on a show for me.” He murmurs as his lips trails kisses down my throat. “ Don’t
was at the work station trying out some of Grandma Lily’s recipe when Cam called out that I had a package.Cleaning my hands, I go out to meet him, holding a huge carton and I raise a brow. “I haven’t opened it honestly.” He says raising a hand up and I nod“Who’s it from?” I ask as I sign the delivery form and the delivery agent leaves.“Can’t you guess?”“Aiden.” I say before quickly running behind the counter to collect it from him. Untying the bow, I unwrap the package before opening the box and the contents immediately makes Cam squeal in delight. Reaching for the card attached, I quickly swipe it before he does. Turning it over, I see a scrawled message from Aiden.“Can’t get the image of you in this out of my head, so I bought you one. Wear it tonight, with the shortest gown you have .
“You’re here again.” Beverly says as she approaches me to hand over the menu and I shrug. “I did say that I’ll be in touch didn’t I?” I ask and she shrugs, “Two weeks ago.” She murmurs and I shrug, “I’ve been kinda busy that’s why I took so long. Won’t you take a sit?” I ask and she turns back to look at the cash register where Donnie’s sitting and glaring. “I’m on the clock.” She says slowly as she shifts her weight from one foot to the other. “Hey Donnie, you won’t mind if Beverly here took some time to rest now, will you?” I yell at him and he says nothing…at least nothing comprehensible enough for me to understand. “Well that’s settled. Now come and sit, I brought s
"Are you still mad?" I ask as I unlock my door but he remains quiet. "Alright, your still mad." I mutter as I open the door and step in.The moment the door is locked behind us, Aiden spins me around quickly pressing my back against the door. "I don't like seeing other guys flirting with you." He murmurs staring down at me and I swallow at how low his voice is. "But I didn't flirt back and we're not even...." I begin but drift off, "Aren't you going to finish your sentence?" He asks or more like dares as his hands move under my skirt and he starts tracing his finger at the back of my legs and I shiver. "You're mine Hadley.." he begins as his hands go higher, "Not that bloke at the carnival, not that guy at the restaurant or every other guy that kept on staring
“What’d you want to do now?” Aiden asks and I look around the carnival, we had ridden the horse carousel admidst the stares; Aiden’s idea by the way, gone on several ferris wheels, eaten lots of candies and pastries which was my idea, gone on the water slides and now we just emerged from the hunted mansion which even though I know it’s fake still scared me enough to hold on to Aiden all through. “That bus ride..” I say but my tone implies that it’s more of a question and he scrunches his nose, “Then what do you want to do?” I question and he gives me a wolfish grin, “A lot of things.” He says and I swallow, “Aiden..” I warn and he gives an exasperated sigh. “Fine then. Let’s do that.” He says pointing to a man who’s shooting at targets and I
“How’d you find that cafe?” I ask Aiden as we walk on the sidewalk, “Ross gets my coffee and his team from there. He did mention something about a poor girl and an abusive bastard. It just clicked now.” He says and I nod before asking “So their coffee is to your taste?’ and at that he laughs before wrapping his arm around my waist and moving me closer to his side. “It used to be,but not anymore.” He says and I hum,. “Is my new face appealing?” he asks and I turn to look up at him. He had straightened out his curls and tIed into a short ponytail and was sporting a scruffy beard. The stud that used to be on his ear was no longer there a d his emerald green eyes were now a startling shade of blue, but he was still as hot as always. Running my hands through his beards I look up at him, "It’d take sometime to get used to your blue eyes, but still it’s appealing. Not
I walked uncertainly into the cafe where Aiden had asked that we meet, so that in case of anything the press won’t be able to trace me. I was pleased to know that he was thinking of things like that and at the same time nervous because he had indirectly acknowledged that there was a chance that we could be caught together and it’ll blow up in our faces. Smoothing out my sundress, I sit in a booth close to the window and look out. Admittedly it was too much of a beautiful day to be wasted outside. You could hear the hussle and bustle from outside as the music that was played in the cafe became a background music in the scene that was the world outside. “Shall I take your order?” a voice asks and I turn back to see a young pregnant waitress smi
