Serena

My body sinks into the car seat, my arms heavy and my head swimming in a fog. I can feel his eyes on me—watching me, dissecting every movement. I try to force a smile, but even that feels like too much effort.

“Pixie Doll,” his voice is low, rough, and the nickname he uses makes my skin crawl tonight for some reason. His fingers grip my chin, firm enough to hold me in place but not enough to hurt. He tilts my face toward him, and I catch the flicker of something behind his eyes—concern?

“You good?” he asks, his voice soft but probing, and I nod quickly, even though my body feels like it’s trembling from the inside out.

“Perfect,” I lie, my voice barely above a whisper. My mind, however, is screaming. It’s clawing at the edges of something—something I can’t quite grasp. He’s planning something. I can feel it.

“Are you sure? You look a little high right now. You think you can ride safely?” His tone shifts, but I'm not sure it's worry, and I hate the way he looks at me—like I’m fr

Serena POVWe sit for a few more minutes, and slowly, the tension begins to bleed from my body. I feel like myself again—or at least the version of me that’s manageable. My muscles unclench, and the static in my head fades. A smile tugs at my lips as I climb onto his lap, curling against him.“Your drinks,” the waiter interrupts with a polite smile, placing them on the table.I reach for my bag, ready to grab some cash for a tip, but when I open it, there’s nothing. My hand freezes.“I…” My fingers scramble through the bag, but it’s empty. Rubbing my head, I try to think. Where did I put the money?“Everything okay?” His voice is soft, but his lips press against mine quickly, a fleeting kiss that feels more like a distraction than affection.“I’ve lost the money,” I whisper, my voice trembling with frustration.“Did he pay you?”“He always pays, Dale.” I frown, trying to pull the memory from the fog in my brain. “I remember him giving it to me… maybe I dropped it outside?”Dale leans

JaceI step further into her bedroom, the air pressing down on me like a weight I can’t shake off. Everything about this place feels frozen in time, a relic of a girl who no longer exists. The walls, the furniture, the faint scent of a cheap floral perfume still lingering—it’s all the same. Untouched. Or maybe put back exactly as it was, a desperate attempt to preserve something long gone.I stop in front of the mirror, my gaze catching on a photo tucked into the frame. The edges are worn, like it’s been held too many times, like it’s meant too much for too long. I pick it up, a faint smile tugging at the corner of my mouth. It’s us. Younger, happier, untouched by everything that came after.“She never forgot you, Jace.”The voice pulls me from my thoughts, and I turn to see Mary standing in the doorway, her expression soft but tired.“Photos come and go,” she continues, stepping into the room, “but she never removed that one of you two.” She moves to sit on the edge of the bed, her h

  • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   Bringing Her Back

Jace POVI park and walk around, my eyes scanning the sidewalk and the shadows around the club. The neon sign flickers, casting an eerie glow that feels too fitting for this place. As I turn the corner, my steps falter. There she is.Dark hair spills down her back in loose waves, catching the neon light as she shifts. My eyes trail down, taking in her metal-heeled boots, the barely-there skirt that’s more like a suggestion than clothing, and the bralette that leaves almost nothing to the imagination.I freeze. This isn’t the Serena I remember. She turns, her hazel eyes meeting mine, and I see the shock ripple through her. For a moment, her lips part, and there’s something vulnerable there—hurt. But it’s gone in an instant, replaced by sharp anger that cuts through the air like a blade.“Great,” she snaps, crossing her arms. “Did I not slap you hard enough the last time to make it clear I never wanted to see you again?”Her words sting, but I step closer, keeping my tone calm. “Nice to

Jace POV“Firefly,” I press, leaning forward. “I’m here. I’m trying to fix shit. Can you at least answer me?”She turns, her glare cutting into me like a blade. “Because you didn’t give a damn!” she screams.“That’s a lie,” I argue, my voice rising. Her hands slam against the table as she leans closer, her hazel eyes blazing. “Is it?!” she snaps. “I called you, Jace. I was outside your house, and you answered the phone. You lied to me.”Her words hit like a gut punch, and I stare at her, confused. “I never lied to you,” I say quietly, but even as I speak, doubt creeps in.Her laugh is cold, hollow. “No? Six months before that, I came to your place. You answered the door, told me you were busy. Said you couldn’t talk, couldn’t see anyone, but you’d call me. Do you remember that, Jace?”I nod slowly. “Yeah. It was around eight at night. Rare for me to send you away.”“Exactly,” she hisses. “Who was in your bedroom, Jace?”My stomach drops. Shit. “Louise,” I whisper.“Exactly,” she snaps

  • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   Unable To Run

SerenaI move quickly through the building, my breath sharp and ragged, but I have no fucking clue where I am. I wasn’t paying attention. I just followed Jace, let him guide me like some lost little girl, and now I’m paying for it.I stop in my tracks, my chest rising and falling too fast, my fingers twitching at my sides. The walls feel like they’re closing in, the air too thick, too fucking loud. I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to retrace my steps, but all I get is static. What doors did he bring me through? Which way did I come?My body trembles, the familiar, suffocating panic settling deep in my bones. My mind scrambles for something—anything—that will make this stop. I turn sharply, and he’s there. Jace. Blocking my way, his presence too big, too heavy.“Leave me alone!” I beg, my voice cracking under the weight of everything clawing inside me.“No,” he snaps, his voice firm as he steps closer. “I’m not leaving you alone until I know you’re okay.”I laugh, but it comes out wrong—

The next, I’m sitting on his couch, wrapped in a blanket I don’t remember taking.Jace kneels in front of me, watching me carefully, like I might disappear if he looks away.I should be fighting him. I should be running again, pushing him away. But I don’t have the energy. Jace POVWhen I wake up, I already know she's gone. The room feels different. The air feels empty.I walk through the apartment, glancing around, half-hoping I’ll find her still curled up somewhere, but she’s gone. A part of me expected it. Another part of me hoped she’d stay.Rubbing a hand down my face, I head for the kitchen, needing coffee to push away the exhaustion clinging to me. I barely slept, too wired, too focused on every word she said last night. I grab a cup, take a sip, and turn—then stop cold.My wallet is open. That sinking feeling hits hard, a slow burn in my gut as I move toward it. The cash is gone. She fucking didn’t. I grab it, flipping through, but it’s empty. Every single bill. She took it all.The anger comes fast, pulsing hot under my skin. I wasn’t expecting a damn thank you, but I also didn’t think she’d rob me the second my guard was down. • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   His Words

Jace POV“So she’s been close to death,” he muses, his voice softer now, almost admiring. “She’s witnessed it. Felt the fear of it. And at some point, she realized how alive it made her feel in that moment.”I shake my head. “No. Because she hasn’t. That’s the thing. There’s nothing. Not even a broken fucking bone,” I mutter. The frustration burns under my skin, because none of it makes sense.Rich leans forward, resting his elbows on the desk, his expression shifting—darker, something lurking behind his eyes that makes my spine go rigid.“You can face death and show no signs of it, Jace,” he murmurs, his voice too smooth, too knowing. “Death doesn’t have to be messy and loud. It can be calm while being completely fucking insane. It can be clean, but still leave blood in your mind that never washes off.”Something in my stomach knots as I watch him, the way his gaze sharpens, his fingers drumming idly against the desk like he’s enjoying the moment.“It can be a moment of pure terror,”

  • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   Something Missing

Jace POVAs the waves of pleasure slowly subside, our bodies remain tangled, our breaths uneven, heavy with the remnants of what we just shared. My fingers trace over her cheek, brushing damp strands of hair from her face, and I shift just enough to look at her. Her lips are parted, her pupils still blown wide, the aftershocks making her shudder beneath me.“How was that?” My voice is quiet, teasing, but laced with something deeper, something I’m not ready to acknowledge.A lazy, satisfied smile spreads across her lips as she blinks up at me, still lost in the haze. “Everything I wanted…” Her voice is soft, drowsy, and she buries her face against my chest, sighing in contentment.I exhale slowly, reaching up to unhook the restraints, my hands careful as I rub gentle circles over her wrists where the cuffs have left faint marks. She doesn’t move much, her body spent, boneless, completely relaxed against me.

  • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   Giving In To Her

Jace POVHer hands remain bound behind her, wrists secured in the soft leather restraints as my fingers continue their slow, deliberate exploration of her skin. Every inch of her is hypersensitive, every touch making her shudder beneath me. My lips follow the path my hands create, dragging heat in their wake as I kiss my way down her body, my tongue teasing the delicate curve of her hip. I have no concrete plan, only the intention of pushing her deeper into subspace, giving her mind the escape it craves.I bite down on the soft flesh of her inner thigh, and she gasps, her hips jerking instinctively toward me. The sound is addictive, a quiet plea wrapped in pleasure. Reaching behind her, I unfasten the restraints only to secure them above her head, forcing her arms up and keeping her open for me. Her breath is uneven, her body trembling with anticipation, and when my mouth moves lower, when my tongue strokes over her, she lets out a strangled moan that

  • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   Still Uneasy

Serena POVI hit the bag over and over, each impact sending a shockwave through my body. My breaths come in ragged gasps. I don’t even know what I’m angry at anymore, Dale, his father, Jace, myself. It all blends together in one endless scream inside my head.“Fuck you,” I hiss under my breath, but I don’t even know who I’m saying it to.Jace watches me, silent. He doesn’t try to stop me. He doesn’t try to tell me to slow down. He just lets me burn it off. When my arms shake and my legs feel weak, I finally stop. My breath is ragged, sweat clinging to my skin, and I brace myself against the bag, pressing my forehead to the cool surface.Jace steps closer, his voice quieter now. “Feel better?”I don’t answer right away. My body still feels like it’s running on high voltage, but the energy is different now. The desperation, the unbearable itch, it’s dulled.&l

  • Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend   His Help

Serena POVThe bedroom walls feel like they’re closing in on me, suffocating, even when Jace is there. He’s been letting me out, but only when he’s around, like he doesn’t trust me. Maybe he’s right not to. I don’t even trust myself right now.My skin crawls, my body restless, my thoughts moving too fast for me to catch. One second, I feel like I need to run, to escape, to do something—anything—but then it shifts, and I crash, exhaustion pressing me down like a weight.I hate this. I hate feeling like I’m not in control. It's been a week, I thought by now I would be fine, but I'm not.I pace back and forth across the room, my hands shaking as I rake them through my hair. Jace is sitting in the chair near the door, watching me with that same patient expression he’s had since all of this started. Like he’s waiting for me to snap.“Stop looking at me like that,&rd

When I push open the door, she’s still on the bed, legs crossed, fingers tugging at a loose thread on the blanket. She looks up, her expression unreadable. “Hey,” she murmurs.Stepping inside, I shut the door behind me. “You good?”She shrugs, glancing away. “I guess.”I walk closer, dropping into the chair beside the bed. “You ate?”She nods. “Rich made sure of it.”Of course, he did.Silence stretches between us, thick and weighted, until she finally speaks again. “Why are you here, Jace?”I meet her gaze, holding it steady. “Because I’m not going anywhere.”Standing, I watch her curl into herself, arms wrapped tight around her legs like she’s trying to disappear. She looks so damn small like this, so fucking frag

No updates, no messages. It’s not like I expected play-by-plays of everything happening in that room, but silence? It doesn’t sit right with me, so I need to check on her.Taking the elevator up, I roll my shoulders, trying to shake off the tension. As soon as the doors slide open, I step into my apartment, my attention immediately pulled toward the bedroom door. Then I hear it, laughter, Serena is laughing. It’s soft at first, then louder, full of something I haven’t heard in years. Pure, genuine happiness. It stops me in my tracks. We used to sneak out at night and go to the lake, just to sit by the water and talk. Sometimes we’d dare each other to do stupid things, like climb onto the roof of my house or steal candy from the corner store.”Rich chuckles. “He ever get caught?”I laugh, shaking my head. “No. I always did, though. He was too damn good at talking his way out of trouble.”Rich smirks. “He still is.”I nod, my smile fading slightly. “It was easy back then. He was always there, always... Jace. How long they’ve made you believe you were just crazy instead of realizing what they did to you.”I press a hand to my forehead, feeling like my skull is splitting open. “No,” I whisper, shaking my head. “I would’ve known. I would’ve remembered.”“Would you?” Rich’s voice is gentle now, but the weight behind his words i

Something feels wrong.“Jace?” My voice cracks, barely more than a whisper. I swallow hard and try again, louder this time. “Jace!”I hear footsteps followed by the door creaking open, and Rich stands in the doorway, leaning against the frame, watching me.He lifts his hands, slow and easy, like he’s dealing with a wild animal. Where is Jace? “Where’s Jace?” I ask.Rich just smiles like I didn’t just snap at him. “Tr
