Bella was too shocked by Alina's innocently spoken words that she even forgot to speak up and refute Alina's words. Damon's eyes shot to Bella with an furious glance. Alina walked over towards Bella and bent down, hugging her in an extremely delicate, and feather light embrace, "I hope you get better soon, Bella. I am heartbroken to see you like this."
Bella's hands stayed down flat on each side of her on the bed, and she did not even try to hug Alina back. Alina seemed like an expert in faking things, while Bella could not do that even as a pretence. Alina pulled back, gave her a tender smile, and sauntered over to Damon. Damon had not returned from the meeting room. Bella did not know why, but she did not want to return to the meeting room to check up on them. It was possible that they had gotten the whiff of her scent while she had been there but avoided it thinking it was no big deal considering she was living here.
