“Was it seven?” Alexander hesitated before speaking again, “You should have been around seven years old at that time?” He could only guess based on his own age, but he was not entirely sure. However, he was sure of one thing. “You came with your parents back then.”

“My parents…” The term had become a thing of the past for Lily. She could barely remember her parents’ faces now. “I have no recollection of it.” she shook her head and felt frustrated.

She felt saddened for not being able to remember what her parents looked like and for her vague and almost nonexistent memories. After her parents passed away, she suffered such a massive blow that she had not remembered much of her past.

Her grandfather told her it was better to forget so that she could move on. However, it was natural for her to feel sad for having lost part of her memories that she could never recall, no matter how hard she tried.
