Chapter 223

Melanie panicked and stopped thinking for a moment. Although she was hesitant to accept the baby, she had never thought the baby might take the initiative to leave her instead. She had the power to decide all along. However, this matter had gotten out of her control.

She returned to her senses after hearing some noises outside. She decided to put the matter aside and quickly opened the shower’s faucet to wash the blood stains off the ground and rinsed herself.

She wiped herself dry and observed that there were no more blood stains. She felt relieved. Since that had happened, Melanie dared not stay there any longer. She hurriedly exited the bathroom and got dressed. She could not wait to leave that place.

Frank heard her and noticed she was about to open the room door. He looked at Melanie and frowned, “Did I say you could leave?”

“I’m sorry, Frank. I have an urgent matter to tend to right now.” Melanie explained in a hurry.

“Of course, you can leave, but what about your promise?”
