I shifted in bed slowly as I came back to consciousness, opening my eyes to look at the wooden walls of Gustaf's hut. I turned on my back, seeing the mistletoe I had hung over the bed the night before. Gustaf was sleeping peacefully beside me, his heavy breathing revealing a deep sleep that made me smile.

I settled down to take a closer look at him, feeling my heart beat faster as I remembered the night before.

"You were the best thing that has happened to me in recent times"

That sentence was engraved in my mind and made my stomach turn, in a good way. I never thought I'd fall in love with someone in such a short space of time, and yet, that's what was happening!
