Chapter 4
He- Her?!
Lucius Grey Point of view
Requesting to meet with Sphinx was a risky move. He offers his service to all gangs, we are all aware, but when he gets a job he works hard regardless. And that means that in the cyber world he’s dangerous. So, asking to meet with him was extremely dangerous, he could easily leak all our information to cops or other gangs if we walk off path. Sphinx should be here any minute.
I didn’t tell him the address because I understood he would be able to track me through the encrypted chat that he himself set up. I’m meeting him with my two most loyal members. They’re young but work well, also good persuaders when needed.
Which is precisely why I trusted them to join me now. The gang members, who will be needed, will be informed of the plan. But under no circumstances will they meet Sphinx. I just need reassuring that he will hold up his end of the deal.
We want to take out the second largest mafia in the city. We were the third wealthiest and largest, and I didn’t mind until Mario Sancho double crossed me. All the major mafias had claimed parts of the city, each owning their own airport(for cargo), train station (for nearby goods) and shipping docks.
Majority of the gangs had no problems with one another. Until Mario and his ass-kissers had raided my drug shipment from Rio. I had been waiting for the shipment to arrive, and when it did, I sent a few members to bring it back to the gang house. Although when said gang members had been gone for over an hour my suspicions were raised.
I had access to the dock’s cameras. Which vividly showed how Mario’s men and women (gangs no longer discriminate although women are scarce) could be seen with their emblem of a falcon on their denim jackets.
As my two loyalist and trusted members enter my office I’m abruptly removed from my thoughts.
“James, Zack,” I say monotonously as I nod in acknowledgement.
I’m behind my large oak desk watching the security cameras of the back door for any sign of Sphinx. James glances at my maroon suit and raises his dark eyebrows.
“Sphinx needed to see something distinct to trust us, like... oh he’s here, see.” I say turning the monitor towards them.
“He said he would wear something distinct to be able to differentiate between a regular member and one another.” I explain matter-of-factly as I stand up moving past them towards the door to meet Sphinx.
He was wearing a black hoodie as he specified. He hasn’t lifted his hood off and kept his head down with his hands in his pockets. He only glanced at my pants when I opened the back door for him. We’ve been walking in silence for the last 5 minutes as I lead him to my office.
He’s shorter and slightly scrawnier than I expected, although he hasn’t stood to his full height yet; just hunching over. Opening my office doors, I direct Sphinx to the inside. He stands gingerly in the middle with his head down. I walk over to James and Zack who are leaning backwards against my desk, eyeing the newcomer warily. As I come closer, they stand up straighter.
“So... Sphinx,” I say standing between the boys. Sphinx nods seemingly unsure.
I glance towards the boys as in giving them the reign to take over, it feels too bothersome for me.
“Please remove your hood then we can discuss the matter further.” James says sternly.
I glare at him for his tone towards Sphinx, he nods his head in understanding. Sphinx’s head perks up at the mention of his name and begins to remove his hands from his pockets and pulls down his hood slowly.
Revealing hi-her?!
Sphinx is a girl? Unexpected...
She’s got dark brown hair and eyes the colour of night, her hair and eyes contrasting to her light caramel skin. She lifts her head and squares her shoulder, standing more confident than before. Glancing around the office, she openly stares at the array of bookshelves before her.
To say I’m shocked is an understatement, although I didn’t know what to expect but this was surprising. The boys seemed to find recognition in her face as their eyes widened slightly before returning to the stoic masks they wear. I remain to keep my face blank as I stare at her.
“Sphinx, if you wouldn’t mind taking a seat, then we continue with the meeting.” Zack states gesturing towards the chair between the two of us.
So far, she’s only looked at me then glanced around the rest of the office. But at Zacks words she glances towards him then James. Recognition is evident in her eyes, but she hides it well.
Chapter 5Talk my ass!
[Chapter 6]~Dairy-free Lasagna~When I got home last night my parents were pulling up in the drive way, which is luckily in front of the house, but because we have a corner house I snuck to the 'side' which is actually the back where the shed thingy is.They are super overprotective.I'm turning 18 in a month and few weeks, but if I leave the house they want there to be parental supervision. And they absolutely hate the fact that I'm only friends with 2 boys. That being said I'm always at home on a Saturday and Sunday. My parents don't work on Sunday but they both work on Saturday. Which leaves me either alone with Annie or alone.Which explains my current state of boredom. I've been coding and punching that fucking bag for over 6 hours, and I'm tired... But I don't take naps. So now I'm just laying on a poof chair, wa
[Chapter 7]~Ooo Burn *Tss*~I hate this Sunday more than I could ever hate any Monday. We didn't lead a religious life, so no it's not church. But my parents had this brilliant idea to agree to a barbeque with our new neighbours. And here I was trusting their lack of social lives to spur me through unscathed. But no, my father convinced my mother to try and make friends to 'teach the children'.Teach the children my assMy dad was probably bored in the house, he doesn't smoke or drink so he normally just watched TV. As for my mother she smokes and only indulges in red and white wines. But I'm forbidden from looking at cigarettes and alcohol in general.Bunch of hypocrites. The hypocrisy in my house is massive.°°°
[Chapter 8]~Tiles+Floor= Ow~I think my father hit a nerve cause after that the air felt thick and heavy. The tension was high, Lora remained quiet and so did the rest of us. I finished the rest of my food. Wanting nothing but to escape this silence."Excuse me," I say standing up, "I need to use the restroom." I mumble heading back through the back door.I've been to Mr and Mrs McCarthy's house before so I can vaguely remember where the toilet is.And if not then I could always just be a creepy house guest and open every door till I find the toilet.Opening the first door next to the kitchen,I think it's in here...I was right, although their bathroom looked nothing like ours. Ours had large mirrors and dark blue tiles but theirs have light grey tiles and only one small cabinet mirror. After finishing my pee... Hehehe
[Chapter 9]~Detention Sketches~Monday mornings will forever hate me. And I will forever hate them.I'm normally an early riser with my alarm set and having everything planned out. But my parents had the brilliant idea to mess with my alarm to be funny. So now I haven't gotten dressed, I haven't gotten to my beautiful punching bag and school starts in 20 minutes. The bus left already, and none of my parents can drive me to school. So now I have to make what would be an hour and 45 minute bike trip, a 15 minute one.Dressing into black leggings and a tight dark purple singlet with a pair of converse.Throwing my school bag into a duffel with clothes, so that I can change out of the sweaty clothes and take a shower at school.Shit!7:43 amI have 17 minutes left...Saying a quick
I'm feeling generous~ T (a/n)[Chapter 10]~"Probably can't throw a punch"~I'm not gonna lie and say that the week went fast cause it sure as hell felt long as fuuurck.I had to practically beg my parents to let me go home with Zack on Friday (Today). I lied to them and told them it was a group project that I was assigned, and Cole was in my group so he was gonna bring me back home. After hearing that Cole was in the group my parents relaxed a teeny tiny bit, but were still hesitant. They asked to speak to Zack's parents, so he pretended to be his dad for them to lay off.Which brings me to how I'm currently sitting in the passenger seat of Coles car. He's driving fast, because I think that he expected me to be scared.I'm not. I love driving fast.Opening the window slightly I stick my hand out and play with the
I have 15 chapters uploaded on Wattpad if that's interesting to anyone there you go ... T[Chapter 11]~Hidden talents & Intimate needs~Zack CarterPOVI'm shocked. Shook. Shook-th!Isabella just threw a punch at Cole and he couldn't dodge it. Coles a good fighter, and by the looks of it so is Isabella. But she's so shy and quiet, I think it just took me by surprise but still. Wow...Cole goes in for another punch, this time aiming for her stomach. She grabs hold of his arm and uses her right leg to kick his side. Pulling him towards her she kicks his left side full force. Coles grunts of pain can be heard echoing through the gym.He takes a few steps back, trying to distance himself from her. She has a glint in her eye, she turns her head to me.I mouth "what the hell?" ,I think she was expec
[Chapter 12]~Dirty Maid~[Important A/N at the end. Please read it!]Cole seems scarred. He gave me a few chores to do around the house, no more questions or sly remarks were thrown my way. Which I was very grateful for.I'm busy sorting out the tiny cabinet underneath their TV. It's filled to the brim with CDs and a few vinyls here and there. As I was bending down to get another CD box to dust off, I hear someone shuffle behind me. My position on the floor is slightly compromising. My ass is in the air and my hands are in front of me by the cabinet. I didn't really care about Cole being downstairs because he said he'd stay upstairs for the most part. Well until now...Turning around I can see Cole standing there awkwardly. Looking at everything but me, he's bending down in front of the couch. So that the only thing in sight is his torso and chest, which is still bare mig
[Chapter 29]~Sinfull righteousness~ I kissed Cole. Not a big deal, I'm not freaking out. Pffffft... No not me. It's not like that was my first kiss, with a egotistical jerk. Ahaaaa! Fuck my life, I should just go home. Or I could drink myself silly... But knowing my parents they'll be home early so it's better not to be hungover, which would be ten times worse for me being inexperienced and all. I feel lost. °°° The house is pitch black, Coles mom is probably... "You do realize who you're fornicating with, don't you?" a deep rumble sounds from my left. A dark figure lounges on the sofa, seeming
[Chapter 28]~Devils have soft lips ~"What's a pretty girl like you doing on her own?"I was strongly hoping not to be approached at this party, the way I was at the other one where someone almost vomited on, me thanks to Cole.Turning left slightly I meet Theo's eyes, as he leans against the fridge - beer in hand. He's been in my physics class since grade 10, and I'm very certain he knows who I am because I'm constantly answering Mr Jenkins questions. He's a wallflower, nice to everyone but not overly nice. Most people know him, but he's not like the snobbish popular kids at my school."Oh, umm hi?" It wasn't meant to be a question. But he doesn't seem to see my lack of communication skills and continues to try to start up a conversation with me. For some reason..."So, what school do you go to?" Theo asks. This could go one of t
(Shorter Chapter, sorry)[Chapter 27]~Liver Failure is real~"Where were you?" Justin asks.I think back to the awkward encounter that just took place. Dolores had called her friend, whose name was actually Sailor. It was weird seeing the girl that Dolores thought I'd be 'perfect' for. And she also made a point of telling Sailor this as well. Sailor had scrutinised me with a heavy gaze.I've never felt so naked, and she made a point to look a my lack of chest that Justin let hang out. Gosh! I don't want that to happen again. I've never had it happen with anyone but Dolores and her friend were both very confident. Boys have never paid attention to me so why would she?I was shocked at how Dolores could be so happy and bubbly after a traumatic experience but she didn't seem phased one bit. Is that norma
[Chapter 26]~You look lesbian~"In all the years I've known you, you've always been stressed out. If it wasn't school and trying to get okay marks then you were trying to finish a job to help your parents out. Lord alone knows what that job is." Andy pauses as he takes a turn, while I try to ignore his remark about my attempts to just make it to below average marks, turning into the road of Alanon High. Not far from Crown High, there's a football game happening there tonight. I'm not too big on school rivalry, everyone takes it so seriously. Were gonna die one day anyway. That was a morbid thought..."What I'm trying to say is, let loose for a little bit, before you know it you're holding a walking stick and everything's gone." He turns to me, stopping in front of the school.I sigh softly and give him a gentle smile.
[Chapter 25]~Slur--pee~{Let's stay in Coles POV ?}"Okay, safe."Zack rides off, leaving Isabella and I on my doorstep. She turns to open the door, its only Sunday so she's still here; for another week. My mother went to bed quite a while ago, well before we left."Can I make tea?" Isabella asks timidly.Rolling my eyes in response I nod, hurrying up to my room. Hardly sparing her a glance. After placing all the knives and Isabellas computer down in their little hiding spots, I walk back down the stairs. Isabella sits on the couch sipping tea, I'm assuming. [Chapter 24]~Yellow Head~His head covered by a wet potato sack, the water drips coolly down his shoulders, wetting his shirt in the process. I'm quite surprised at how agile and quiet the men and women were, only a few guards were injured and knocked out and you couldn't even hear them.Cole and Zack quietly instruct them what needs to be done and leave them to transport the leader of the Halcóns back to Scorpion territory and base. I'm surprised at how little of a fight he put up, but I'm guessing they really did a number on him, by the way he's being dragged limply and judging by the blood dripping down his white shirt. The men and woman split off from us and head in a different direction. The boys and I continue to trek a few more metres before coming to the car we hid on the side of the road a few properties over.
[Chapter 23]~Phsychotic~"And then he just left?" Harmony voices her thoughts aloud."Yip." I say popping the p."And what did you say to the vomit dude?" She queries although it's hard to hear her over the loud music, even though we are at the back."I was so scared he was going to vomit on me. I just ran." I recall the last hour of my life.Harmony bursts out laughing, to the point of needing to clutch her stomach. The people hanging around the backyard turn to look at us, most of them too stoned to comprehend anything but they're still able to give us dizzy looking dirty looks."Keep quiet oh my lord Harmony people are starring at us."
