JOE BANDIT P.O.V
When it was finally time for lunch, John, Gio and I left the school and headed to taco bell. We did all the time and since we were now seniors, it was fine for us to leave campus. When we arrived at Taco Bell, we all ordered our food. When it was finally ready, we grabbed our food and picked a table to sit. We all eagerly began eating the tacos, hungry for that delicious wrapped meat.
After taking a bite of my taco, I saw Gio and John looking at each other. John whispered something to Gio, making him frown and shake his head. They then both looked at me in observance. As if they were searching for the answer to a question they wanted to ask. I ignored them and kept eating my food. When I could still feel their eagle eyes watching me, I sighed and gave up, allowing them to ask me what I know they eagerly want to know.
“What?” I said in a deadpan voice, knowing full well, this was about Chasity.
“Do not act like you do not know why we are staring at you,” John said with a grin.
Gio took a sip of his drink and grinned as well, anticipating me answering the question they both were about to ask. I wiped my mouth with a napkin and sat back in my seat, at the same time my two nosey friends leaned forward.
“Why were you talking to Dawson?” John asked, while he wiggled his eyebrows.
Gio snickered “Is there love blossoming in the air my friend?”
John laughed and added “Is it ‘cuffing season’ already?”
“What is cuffing season?” asked Gio, getting slightly distracted.
It was moments like this, that reminded me that Gio is a not from America. It was always funny whenever he got confused by a slang or phrase we would say.
“It is like a phrase that means people start becoming couples,” explained John.
“Ahh,” said Gio, making an understanding motion with a nod of his head.
I quickly replied with a lie “I wanted to ask her if what type of Oreo’s does, she like?”
“Are you serious?” asked Gio, not believing my reply to John’s question.
I nodded my head, trying to quickly back up my lie “Very. There are many types of Oreo’s and even though the original is my favorite, it is not the only one that is the best.”
John and Gio looked at me with an expression that showed they clearly didn’t believe me. I went back to eating my taco before my food got cold.
“I do not believe that you are being serious,” Gio said before he took a sip of his drink.
I shook my head, then replied “I am very serious,” as my right pinky tapped on the table.
John leaned back against his chair and crossed his arms. He then looked at me with amusement, as he scanned me with his eyes up and down, as if the truth is written on my face “Did you know that you are a bad liar?”
I inwardly scoffed; I am not a bad liar.
“I am not a liar, nor am I a bad one,” I replied. Then stood up to go throw my trash away.
John raised his eyebrows then scanned me with his eyes as I came back to the table “The truth always eventually comes out Bandit.”
I then grabbed my phone and looked at the time. Seeing that it was time for us to go. I stood up and grabbed my bag.
“It’s time to go back,” I said, changing the subject.
Gio laughed and teased in a singing tone “You are changing the subject my friend.”
I rolled my eyes and walked out the door ignoring their protests of leaving.
“How do you know he is lying?” Gio mumbled to John.
If he was trying to be discreet, my foreign friend was doing a horrible job.
“When he is lying, all his fingers stay still except his right pinky. It will always tap against something,” John said with a grin.
I inwardly scoffed, I guess I am a bad liar.

Joe Bandit P.O.VI felt like someone punched me in the gut and I couldn’t breathe. When Gio told me, what happened to John I almost joined him in destroying the house. That didn’t happen, only because Chasity heard Gio throwing things and came running downstairs. When I told her that John died, she threw her arms around me and hugged me tight as she cried her eyes out. My eyes flooded with tears, and I tried to keep it at bay but it was useless. If John saw me crying right now, he’d tell me, “Only girls cry Joe.” Then I’d push him and say “You’ve cried before too! So that makes you a girl!” We’d laugh and head to the theater room to watch a movie. It pained me to know that we would never get to do that again. When the exchange for my mother had been made after my dad signed the documents that would give James complete control of my father’s company, shots were fired. Andr
Joe Bandit P.O.V“You want to know what’s so funny?” I laughed out loud at the sudden thought.Gio and Chasity looked at me. “What?” they asked in unison.I shook my head, “Earlier I could have sworn I saw Payton, as we were coming down the elevator.”Gio’s fork dropped from his hand and onto his plate in shock. “You saw Payton? Here?” He rushed out, looking around in alert. The smile that was on my face fell.“Well, I think I saw her.” I said starting to feel uneasy. “I could be wrong. Why? Is that not a good thing?”Gio stood up and shook his head.“The call that I just had, was from one of our men. He said that he found videos of Payton meeting James Cotton last week and was at your house today while you and your parents were out. She was there when your mother was abducted. Your mother didn’t se
Joe Bandit P.O.VI looked at Chasity’s eyes and couldn’t believe how lucky I got to have this girl in my life. Our situation is weird, considering the fact that her dad tried to kill my parents, but I’m still grateful that one of the results is something that led Chasity into my life. Not wanting to say this, but needing to come clean I tell her my secret, “Chasity, I knew that your dad was alive.”Her eyes widened. “Why didn’t you tell me?”She didn’t pull away from me, so this was a good sign.“My father advised against it. We argued so many times, because I wanted to tell you and he didn’t feel like it was the time to do it.”She looked down, “I heard you guys arguing one time in the office. The door wasn’t fully shut. You were screaming at each other and one of the things you said is something along the lines of, a girl having the right t
Joe Bandit P.O.VThe whole car ride to the safe house, was spent in total silence. No one spoke and no one needed to. I didn’t know that my dad had a safe house. Did my mom know about it? If she did, why didn’t she tell me? It was now an hour and we still weren’t there. We were heading to the mountains and the deeper we went I saw less and less proof of civilization. An hour later, Gio finally spoke up, “We’re here.”I watched as he pulled into a lane that led to a small shack.“You’ve got to be kidding me Gio,” I couldn’t help but say. “I don’t mean to sound spoiled but my father is a rich man. I assumed that he would have bought a bigger safe house.”Gio got out of the car and smirked at me. “Your father is a very rich man indeed.”I raised my brow at the way he spoke. As if he knew something I didn’t.Gio went to Annie to help her walk,
Joe Bandit P.O.VI watched as the man my father brutally beaten groaned from the immense pain he was feeling. His face all bloodied up and bruised, he looked almost unrecognizable. Then again, I’m sure any man would if they were beaten the way Andrew was.“So, what now dad?” I asked, as I watched him pace back and forth. He looked at John instead of me, “I want all the men to be at Owls Tower at eleven. We are meeting James at midnight. He wants me to sign over the rights to my company.”“Yes sir,” nodded John. This is so weird seeing my best friend acting this way. As Andrew was getting a beating from my father, John confessed that my dad hired him as my body guard. John’s family are a part of a secret organization that protects very wealthy men. It doesn’t matter if the person is good or bad. If the money pays well, then the bodyguard the client receives will be even better.
