Sofia met James at the entrance to the studio, and they greeted each other with a light hug, and a peck.

"And Tye?"

"He insisted on a tour of the studio over the both of us," she chuckled, as he led her down the short set of steps.

James paused, glancing up at her, "You told him I was here?"

Sofia chuckled, nodding, "He didn't hesitate."

James clutched his chest with his free hand, and shook his head, "It's always the closest ones," he said, and she laughed at him, shielding her mouth from view.

"Oh, it's funny to you huh." He shook his head at her, but she placed her free arm on his, apologizing.

Then the cameras flashing drew her attention, and she immediately shielded her face from view. James held her behind him, parting the crowd with slight difficulty. He left her arm, and held her across her shoulders, bringing her closer to himself.

"Don't say a word. I'm right here," he whispered reassuringly.

Sofia nodded slowly. She could never get used to getting hedged in. She kept her he

Jessi, Rico, and Tyler arrived at the house in record time, thanks in, large part, to Harry's driving. "I don't see any other car here," Rico noted as Harry pulled to a stop in the driveway. "Maybe they're not back yet?" "Look, there's Mom," Tyler said, pointing ahead. Indeed Sofia had just come out of the house in a simple floral print gown, under a long satin robe, and black fashionable slippers. She waved at them, smiling brightly, and they got down. Tye scrambled to his mother, and she squatted to embrace him in a bear hug. "How was your tour?" She asked as they separated. "I loved it, mom. The studio is amazing! We'll go again tomorrow right?" She tapped her chin, with her dainty index finger, and looked thoughtful, as if she was considering it. "I don't know, perhaps you may decide not to come back home again," she pouted. "Of course not, Mom," Tye chuckled, giving her a forehead kiss. "Oh, you want to bribe me, Tye," she laughed, tickling him. Tyler giggled, trying to s

Alicia knew she couldn't stay mad at Tanya too long. She had just finished breakfast, about to leave for work. Yet the door to Tanya's room was still shut since yesterday. She sighed deeply and glanced toward Tanya's room from where she sat, holding her coffee mug with both hands, with an empty plate of ham, cheese, and toast set before her. Only her coffee remained; about a quarter full. She set the cup down on the table, and grabbed her phone, dialing Tanya's number. It was still switched off.She got up and went to the door."Tanya?" She called. She didn't get a response. She called twice more. Still nothing. Then she began to get worried. She knew how dangerous Tanya could be to others, did she do something to herself? "Tanya!" She banged the door repeatedly, yelling her name louder each time. She didn't even hear the dragged footsteps until the key turned in the lock. She gasped, pausing mid-strike."What is it?" Tanya growled, looking disheveled.Alicia lost control, and embraced

"Doctor, doctor, how's my son?" Sofia asked, her, and James rushing to the old man as soon as he left the ER. "Don't worry, he's stable now. We're just gonna keep him under observation for a while, just to make sure he's perfectly fine, and then he can leave with you." "Oh, thank God," Sofia gushed, making the sign of the Cross. "Can we see him now?" "The nurses will move him to his room first, and then you can go see him. He's fine now, don't worry." He smiled kindly at Sofia. "And when you get home, ease him into his normal routines. Right now all he needs is care, and rest." "Of course, doc. We'll take care of him," James said, hugging Sofia to his side. "Thank you, doc." "My pleasure," he replied. "Doctor Patricio, doctor Patricio, you're needed on floor six, room 8." The speaker on one wall announced. "That's my cue, take care you too." He left and took the nearest elevator. A nurse walked out of the elevator as the doctor went in, and she walked up to Sofia, and James. S

"Ok, they've left Santa Fe, Harry. Take us to Sofia's place instead. We'll wait for her there." Jessi directed, ending her call with Sofia. "Alright, ma'am," Harry nodded, changing lanes. He turned at the next intersection and went back in the direction from which he had come. They arrived at Sofia's quickly, and Jessi let herself, and Rico in with her spare key to the place. Tanya held the other spare. "I'm starving, want something?" Jessi asked Rico as she went into the kitchen. "A sandwich will be nice," he called after her. "No meat!" He added, and Jessi's head popped into view from the kitchen. She winked, "Of course, I know how to make a Rico sandwich, hun." Rico stared at her, caught slightly unawares. Just then the toast machine beeped, and Jessi slipped back into the kitchen. A few minutes later, Jessi brought a tray of sandwiches, and orange juice to the table, and they heard a car enter the driveway. "That must be them," Jessi said, wiping her hands on the back of he

"Tye, I'm gonna lock up, ok? Don't answer the door. Dinner's in the microwave. I already preset it, so you just have to push the button I showed you, ok?""Alright, mom.""Now, how do I look?" "Stunning," he replied. She curtsied. "Why, thank you, good sir."Sofia checked herself out in the mirror. Tanya had been doing her shopping for a while now, and she had to say, the choices were beautiful.Tonight she was in a backless long-sleeved blouse. It looked like deep space, its tiny sequins twinkled slightly, mimicking the stars. She complemented it with dark form-fitting pants and a pair of heels. A string of pearls wrapped her neck, and its matching bracelet, her right wrist."Alright," she came and sat on the bed, next to him. "You don't need to stay up. And call if you need anything.""Come on, Mom, are you getting cold feet?""What?" She dragged it. "Of course not." She got to her feet as if to prove her point, but didn't take any step further."I'll be fine, mom. Now, go." "Ah,

"Ted, this is the something billionth voice mail I'm leaving you. You're not taking my calls, you're not responding to my messages. Now I know I yelled all sorts of things and said all what-nots in some of them. And I know I have also said this is the last one a couple of times, but can you say something? Anything... Please?" She hung up and dropped her head on the table with a loud groan. "The things we do for love," she said. Tanya gasped, jerking her head off the table. She glanced around. The light had gone out, but she could tell where she was. This was the dining/kitchen area of her apartment. She grabbed her phone hurriedly and went through it. "Thank God," she sighed in relief. "It was just a bloody dream." *** "She finally admitted it, Rico. Sofia is going out with James." Jessi had called Rico to come pick her up from Sofia's place, and he did. He, with Harry driving, was now taking her home. "What's on your mind now?" Rico asked, exhaling deeply. He was unsure what

Sofia knocked on the door. She knew she was very close to the top of the unwanted visitor list, but she came anyway, because she needed her best friend. "Who's there?" "It's me, Jess. Can I come in?" Jessi hesitated, the seconds stretched for hours, and then she opened the door. "Hey." Her voice was flatter than Earth. Sofia slipped in, and Jessi shut the door, while she stood there in the sitting room, unsure how to act. Jessi came in and dropped onto the sofa farthest from her. It was only then that Sofia sat. She looked and felt nervous. The atmosphere seemed like it would burst at a needler's touch. "Jessi, I know I'm not the most welcome person right now, but I had nowhere else to go. I have a huge problem." "What?" "I felt the spark with James." Jessi sat up. "I'm sorry, what?" "I'm so so confused, right now." Sofia shook her head, and let it drop into her hands. Jessi finally broke free of her shock. "Wait... Isn't that impossible?" "My thoughts exactly. But I fe

Someone pounded at the door. Sofia and Jessi glanced at each other and rushed out to the balcony. They could see Tanya approaching the building. "Jessi!" Trish's voice pleaded from the other side. "You've got to help me or Tanya will kill me." Jessi and Sofia glanced at each other. Their earlier squabble suddenly seemed irrelevant. Jessi opened up hurriedly. "Oh my God," Sofia let out. Trish was not alone. *** "Tanya!" Jessi yelled from her balcony. "What's this about?" "Why don't you ask Trish? Or any of them? I heard them run up to your apartment. And when she's done, ask her to come down here, so we can settle this once, and for all. Nothing else matters to me, coming from you." "Let me try," Sofia said to Jessi, smiling slightly. "Tanya," she called. "Please, there's no need for this." "Oh, you're here as well, Sofia. That's good. You, be the judge! Listen to what she has done, and then tell me, why I should not send them all to hell!" Sofia turned to the girls. They

On a normal day, Sofia would playfully chastise Ryan for such an idea, especially in front of the boy, but maybe it was Tanya’s influence, or the look in Steph’s eyes at Ryan’s words, whatever it is, it had Sofia smiling, and leading Ryan into the elevator.“Tyler, go wait for me in the car, okay?” She kissed the top of his head.“I forgot something in my room,” she added, a bit more forceful, with her eyes on the elevator.“Okay,” Tye replied innocently, and left for the waiting Mercedes Benz SUV.Steph obviously had other plans…*** “Slow down, Ryan,” Sofia chuckled, as he broke off their playful kisses to move down her neck, while his hands went lower..“We're outside,” Sofia added, kissing him back.“Someone might see us.”“Well, let's make it worth their while,” Ryan replied, leaning against the balcony of the terrace.“You must be joking,” Sofia frowned, moving away from him.Immediately, a potted plant dropped where she had been standing!Sofia gasped, her hand flying to her c

“You haven't said anything, Sof,” Jessi noted.Sofia took a deep breath.“I'm just trying to process everything, she said, leaning into the sofa.“On the one hand, you have you, my friend, whom Rico definitely, and horribly wronged by the way he handled the situation. But then, there's Rico who has been suffering from PTSD all these years. And I'm not saying that that validates what he did to you but I try to imagine how deep his fear has been for so long, that he couldn't confess his love for you. Believe me I know how the heart reacts to holding in such feelings. It's all just a lot. And I don't want to say you should do this or that, because honestly if I were you, I have no idea what I'd do in this case,” Sofia exhaled deeply.“But if I know one thing, it's that Rico has a good heart; damaged, but good nonetheless.”“I guess that saying is true,” Tanya replied, nodding slightly.“Which?” Sofia asked.“Damaged people, when they don't heal, end up damaging people,” she said.“Exactly

Help me out here.”Pete laughed as he sat down on the recliner, and faced the other two.“But seriously Rico, what’s up? You know you can trust us.”“Exactly.
