Crossing Xyla was equivalent to giving Quentin the license to destroy Aloysius' small company.

Layla's pained screams and howls filled the living room.

Xyla, on the other hand, had paled. She wore a wounded expression and swayed like she might faint any second.

Worried that the events today might trigger her asthma, Quentin walked up to her and snapped at the others in the living room, "That's enough! That recording doesn't prove anything!"

He carried Xyla in his arms and turned to address Noelle. "I found the person who murdered your mother."

After that, he left with Xyla in his arms.

Noelle's breath hitched at Quentin's words. The next second, she went after him.

John frowned as he watched Noelle trail Quentin out of the living room.
