Writer's POV
Mia knew that if she was in Alex's position, she would have defended herself. But that held no fact that, he had this dark mystery surrounding his person.
But he save her.
He saved her.
And almost lost his life because of her. It was something no one would in his right mind do. But Alex had gone to charge at her captors, without even thinking that they were armed, while he was unarmed. That they could kill him. It was something no one would in his right mind do. Mia thought about this again.
He wasn't scared that he was unarmed, yet he went to attack those men because of her. Not giving a care if he would sustain a bullet injury, or die.
Mia wanted to think about the man he had killed, and how he dodged all those bullets like a mafia. But she couldn't anymore when her eyes raised themselves up at him. To see him quietly watching her different emotions on his face.
She kept his phone on the bed and pulled him into a tight
Writer's POVSometimes it felt like a dream that she lived in such a massive mansion.she couldn't believe it. The house was so big, just like the one they used in acting that movie 'Coming To America' It was like she was in another world of her own. Like her life wasn't endangered, because she felt more safe there.Alex told her His grandad willed the house to him before he died. Which added a stamp to the fact that, his family was swimming in the ocean of wealth. How can just one man own such a huge house? It was insane. Mia wondered. She being so nosy, counted twenty-five bedrooms, four sitting rooms, three kitchen, two swimming pools, a football and a basketball court, a gym and staffs quarters. The Garage had hundreds of cars consisting of different models. Mia couldn't help but envy Alex, she thought that he was really blessed. It rained earlier and it was cold outside, the sky which had been dark and gloomy was now brig
Writer's POVShe had a terrible dream about Alex again. This time he was shot dead by Tunde Ibrahim, here in Houston, Galveston. The dream felt too real that when she woke up, she was sweating profusely and had tears on her cheeks. She had been crying while having the dream. After washing her face, she decided to head straight to Alex's room to go see him. She was feeling so sick on the inside, that she felt if could see his face, see that he was fine, she would feel better.Mia knocked on Alex's door. There wasn't any response at first. It looked like he was still asleep. She waited for sometime, then knocked on his door again. Wondering if he was really inside. Because he had mentioned on the previous night that he was off to somewhere. What if he hadn't returned in the night? Was he okay? Where was he? She wondered. Many uneasy thoughts began racing through her mind. Making her unsettled.
MiaLetting my mind go through the memory lane of how it all started with Alex, was making me feel really uncomfortable. Because after everything, he had brought a dress for me, carried me on his bike, too me out on a date, kissed me in the rain, made me feel special, and stayed with me till the next morning. Because I had a bad dream.I was so happy, that I was inlove him, and he too had feelings for me. I couldn't have wished for more. Because Alex was everything any woman would want in a man. He was handsome, caring in his own way. And would go out of his way to protect the ones that mattered to him. To the extent of risking his own life. That was what even pulled me closer to him. Because he had made himself my saviour since day one. Took me in to live with him, when Tunde Ibrahim sent his man to come end my life.First of all, he saved me when I was at the verge of giving up. After Tunde Ibrahim had sent hi
MiaDejá vu was the word that popped in my head when my eyes lazily fluttered open, just in time to catch a pair of honey brown eyes, accompanied with long lashes, watching me cautiously with sadness and concern. It was no other person than Alex. And that marked the third time something like that occurred.First was at the hospital, after the bullet was operated. I had woken up and caught him looking at me, with his face devoid of emotions. We weren't acquainted with each other at that time, so I was pissed on that day.Second was when Tunde Ibrahim's men had come to abduct me and in the process, drugged me that I lost conciousness. I didn't know how he had sensed that something terrible was ongoing, but when I woke up hours later, his eyes were the first thing mine registered and I was at the hospital. And now, I woke up to his eyes after I had lost conciousness due to starving my self off food and personal hygiene. So
Chapter fourthyMiaWhen I flicked my eyes opened hours later, I didn't see Alex. It was already morning and it felt like all that just happened was a dream. Like Alex appeared in my dream. But I was fully aware that it wasn't. Alex really came. He was informed about my condition and came back to Gavelston to check up on me at the hospital. Abandoning what ever he was occupied with, in Nigeria.Something which added a stamp to the fact that, I was still quite important to him. That he didn't completely hate me, despite everything I had put him through.I sat up right, and saw that I was still on drip. A much bigger one this time. With the pains less severe than it was when I had first woken up.I stared at the door longingly, wondering if Alex had gone or he was still around. Because I wanted to see him again. Earlier when I saw him, I couldn't stay awake that much to talk to him. We still had a lot of talking to do.Decision
MiaI bit down on my buttom lip out of frustration, because I was restless. It felt like things were taking a sullen turn in my life, and would end bad. The one man who I had seen as my savior, was looking really vulnerable and stressed out. Like he was fed up with everything that was ongoing at the moment.I wouldn't blame him, though. I knew since I didn't come into his life, he was okay. Though he was cold and grumpy, but he was at peace. But then, he took me in and everything about his life changed. From saving me on several occasions, to loosing his security guard, and almost getting killed in the process of trying to save me.Right at that moment, the door was being jerked open, and Alex made his way in. Looking much tired and stressed out than how I had seen him last night. But he still had the same outfit on.My heart fluttered in my chest, because he stayed. He didn't go.

MiaI was alive, and it was a miracle. Because I had completely given up the ghost, and had woken up, right when I was taken to the morgue.I had survived death twice. After six painful months of getting treated in Indian, I was put on a wheelchair. And the doctor said it could take a year or two, before I could start walking again. Because Tunde Ibrahim had completely broken my legsThe fact that Bolu had taken a bullet for me, and had died, made my respect grew for her. She had exchanged her life for mine. AlexAn old woman, and a boy who could barely move his limbs came and held Mia as they wept. At this, I knew it was her grandmother and her cousin brother. My brain couldn't properly align that she was gone.I was still hugging her body to myself, as I wept, until I heard "Bolu."Instantly I snapped my head back, and saw one of the cops rushing to the lady who was on the floor. It was the same lady who had taken the gunshot for Mia.I stared at the lady closely, until I saw that it was Bolu.Taking my mask off, I left Mia in the arms of her grandmother, as I quickly walked up to where she was laying on the floor, in the pool of her own blood. The cop and a little girl was crying so hard, as they held her.And I squated and took one good look at her. Wondering why she was there in the first place. And why she had taken the
AlexWith my eyes, I searched for Mia, but I couldn't see her. It was other people who where tied with ropes, and had rags in their mouths.Tunde Ibrahim who had sustained a bullet on his leg, was on the floor. And he had a gun pointed at a female who was decorated in bruises, and had her clothes coated in blood.I looked closely, and saw that it was Mia.My heart moved to my throat at this, and I felt weak right at that instant.Mia looked half as dead, and I could tell that I stopped breathing.Just as Tunde Ibrahim pulled the trigger, I saw a lady from nowhere diving in to shield Mia away from the bullet. And when the bullet got through her neck, and she slumped heavily on the floor. This happened within the space of two seconds, and I shot Tunde Ibrahim on both hands. Before I rushed in to Mia.She was
AlexThe two cops accompanied me down to the basement, after adding more bullets to their guns.I could recall how Kate had told me, one of them; the tall fair one to be precise. Had saved them, when Tunde Ibrahim had sent a bomb.I knew if I hadn't shot the man who intended shooting him, he would have been as dead. Because he was out of bullets at that time.Him and his colleague had stared at me wide eyed, after I had shot and killed the other Tunde Ibrahim's man, who had wanted to kill the colleague. On getting to the basement, I kicked the door opened with my feet, and gunshots where behind fired at me. But for the fact that I was clad in a bullet proof all through, made no bullet to penetrate into my body.Taking steps backwards, I shot at these men, with the cops at my behind, assisting me.The more we moved backwards, the more they
CharlesMax and I exchanged gunshots with some of Tunde Ibrahim's men. It was really easy, because I was quite scared I was going to be shot dead. Even Max had fear evident in his face. We had our backs against eachother as we hid and shot at these men.It was one of the most difficult situation I had ever been thrown in, because we were surrounded by these men who where shooting at us from different angles. But God was still guiding us.The fact that Tunde Ibrahim had my mom and daughter, was worth panicking. I had no idea what he had done to them. If they were still alive or not.Max and I had killed most of Tunde Ibrahim's men, and it looked like two where still remaining, and hiding at some corner so they could shoot us.Just then, one of Tunde Ibrahim's men jumped out from his hidden place and aimed his gun at me.I tried to shoot at him, but then I r
BoluIt looked like something was on going outside, that most of Tunde Ibrahim's men started running out.Gunshots and screams could be heard. And on seeing how Tunde Ibrahim and the remaining of his men were rendering hefty blows and kicks on Mia, was making me sick. There was a pool of blood on the floor, and Mia's face looked swollenly covered in blood.Guilt stung me deeply, that the pace of my breathing became fast and uneasy. Because it was partially because of me that she was in this condition.I had been blinded by hate and jealousy, to see that Mia was innocent. I knew Alex, he wouldn't fall for a despicable person. He had fallen in love with her for his own reasons.Something I was too angry and jealous to notice. And now, she was thrown into this situation because of me.Like a beast, Tunde Ibra
CharlesThroughout the drive to Tunde Ibrahim's house, Max and I were panicking, to the extent that Max even wet his pants.I was trying so hard to keep my emotions in check, and it really wasn't easy.Tunde Ibrahim had my daughter and my mom, and I didn't even know if they were dead or alive. But I chose to believe that they were alive.Meanwhile, Max had lost all hopes. He broke into tears like a baby, and despite that I was in an anxious state, I still managed to talk to him. That everything was going to be fine, and we'd have our families safely. But Max still refused to believe me. His facial expression was like his world was crumpled, and there was no hope of restoring it.Even me too was scared, because Tunde Ibrahim had my daughter and my mother, but I still managed to stay strong. Because if I acted weak, then it meant I was willing to accept the
AlexOn getting in front of Tunde Ibrahim's house, I made sure I took hold of my bulletproof mask. My whole body was clad in bulletproof, before I wore my clothes.I wore a face cap, so it would be hard to recognize me.Then I banged loudly on the gate, and when I heard a masculine voice demanding who I was, I told him I was the pizza delivery guy.The peephole of the gate was flung opened, and a white milky eye stared at me, and the pizza I was holding in a suspicious manner. Before closing the peephole back. Then my ears kicked in the dangling sounds of heavy keys, which read that the gate was being unlocked.Blowing out a big puff off breath, then waited. The gate was finally jerked opened, and I stepped in.Right there an then, I saw an heavy raccoon of a man, with other shirtless guys who had bullets as necklace, and guns in thei
