Chapter 12 Danielle quickly went to her closet and pulled out a black skinny jeans and a white color shirt. “I told you to fucking look for her, Michael.” She yelled through the phone as she stripped down to her weary skin. “I don’t care, Michael. Look for her.” Danielle pulled away the phone from her ear and slide the shirt over her head and turned to Jackson behind her. “Any trace of Janette yet?” He shook his head, rubbing his jaw. “I informed the police, but they said they can’t do anything until after twenty-four hours.” He said, “should we go looking for her?”“Really Jackson, you’re asking that?” Danielle felt so angry that she wanted to storm into Solomon’s house and confront him. “Have you called her parents?” “No, I don’t wa—” He stopped and cleared his throat. “I don’t want to them to start panicking,” “But Jackson, we can’t keep that away from them. Beside we need to go out there and look for her and that includes her parent's house.” Jackson thought for a moment.
Chapter 13Janette trudged through the familiar hallway on Monday morning accompanied by Michael and Anna, then came to a halt at the front of the classroom. Sensing her hesitation to open the door Michael reached out his hand for the doorknob and fleet the door open, ushering her into the room; reluctantly she walked into the full classroom and stood few steps away from the door, giving way for Michael and Anna. “Ms. Johnson, I’m glad you have finally decided to grace us with your presence today.” Mr. Stephen muttered and waited to hear what Janette had to say. “Well, thank you Mr. Stephen. I didn’t realize you missed me this much.,” Janette began. “Glad to see you again, Mr. Stephen,” she said sarcastically, smiling at him. Mr. Stephen looked at her in her expensive fashion clothes, observant expression told Janette he wasn’t happy with her choice of words. Margaret waved at her friends from her seat with her eyes fixed on Anna the whole time. She could barely sit still. She wanted
Chapter 14The following morning, Danielle drove in her red Toyota Fortuner all the way to Janette’s college. Having pondered all night on what to do to Dakota, she’d decided to pay him a surprise visit; he dare not touch what belongs to her and go free. Revenge is the first word in her own dictionary. She pulled over in the middle of the school building and fleet the door open, tucking her CZ P10C pistol inside her black jacket. Skipping the head office, she strolled down the narrow hallway down to Janette classroom hall. She burst the door open and walked into the classroom. Danielle allowed her gaze roamed around the room looking for a particular person. “Mrs—" the short bald lecturer called and waited to hear her name from her, but instead she turned and glare at him. “Who are you? And why are you interrupting my class?” Danielle ignored him and asked the class; “who is Dakota?” Nobody said anything, they entire class stare at her in fright. “I ask again, who the fuck is Dakota?
Chapter 15 Sol wandered around the Jackson’s mansion with his gaze fixed at the entrance. He stood and surveyed the environment, thinking of how to get to Janette’s room without being caught. Climbing the fence wouldn’t be an option because of the height of the fence. He thought of sneaking in through the gate, but what if he get caught by the security? He hissed and sighed, pulling out his phone from his pocket dialing Janette's number for the twenty times; she still wasn’t picking. Anger washed over him as he stood helplessly in front of the Black gate. If only he could change the hands of time, he wouldn’t have allowed Dakota trick him into doing that terrifying business with him. He’s sure that Jackson and his wife would do everything possible to keep him away from Janette. Sol scolded himself for everything happening with him and Janette's relationship. He’s gradually losing his girlfriend because of his stupidity and there’s absolutely nothing he can do, except — plead with
Chapter 16Shifting from her right foot to the left, Janette noticed that she was agitated. Solomon hasn’t talked to her for the past one week; the only reason she’d come to see him was to tell him that she would be living for Spain. She wouldn’t want him hearing it from someone else. Hesitantly, Janette rang the doorbell and took a few steps away from the door. Her eyes roamed around as nervousness swept over her. She waited for about a minute and nobody came to open the door. Janette contemplated ringing the doorbell again, with heavy heart she reached for the doorbell and the door fleet open. “H-hi,” Janette said almost above a whisper and stared at Rebecca confusingly. What’s Rebecca doing at Sol’s apartment? Is he now having an affair with his classmates? She knew Rebecca had been making passes at him for over one year, but Sol promised to have nothing to do with her. “Hello Jan, you are here to see Solomon, I guessed.” Janette secretly rolled her eyes and sighed. Just one nigh
Chapter 17They arrived in Spain at exactly 6:00pm, Janette couldn’t help but to stare in amazement, Margaret was right after all. The place looks like paradise, one could easily mistake it as heaven. She allowed her gaze to wander around her environment. So this is what it means to be in paradise. “I’ll take it that you like the place.” Danielle muttered beside her. Janette did not waste time in nodding her head with a dazzling smile on her face. “Like is an understatement. I love it. Jesus! This place is out of this world.” Danielle chuckled and then turned to the dark slim. From the way he dresses, Janette thought he might be a staff worker there, perhaps a bellman. “Gabriel please take those luggages to our room and please tell Thomas to call me right away.” “Yes ma’am. Mr. James came looking for you a few days ago. He wanted to know if he should supply the goods as agreed.” “Why didn’t you call me when he came?” Janette could barely hear what Danielle and Gabriel were discussin
Chapter 18“Morning sunshine.” Danielle whispered to Janette as she stroke her thick brunette hair. “Good morning, babe.” Janette muttered, covering her naked body with the bed sheet; “I can tell your night went well with the smile on your face.” Janette blushed and slightly nodded, looking down at her fingers. “I wonder how someone can easily sleep off immediately after having sex.,” She remembered how Janette fell asleep after their steaming lovemaking the previous night. The blush on Janette’s face deepened, trying hard not to look at her. “Where’s Jackson?” She asked, attempting to change the topic. “Hmm, us still want him inside you, huh? Last night ya were like ah ah deeper baby, go deeper please.” She teased, running her fingers over her thigh. Seemed she derived joy from teasing me! Janette thought.“I-I need to take a b-bath now. I feel sticky.”“Oh yeah, you should take a bath, you reeked of sex.” Janette muttered and giggled seeing the funny reaction on her face; “can I joi
Chapter 19By the time Danielle returned, Janette had already finished her first glass of wine and was sipping on the second glass. Danielle face lit up in delight but Janette face remained emotionless. “Hey babe, sorry for keeping you waiting.” She apologized and paused, seeing the faraway glimmer look in her eyes. “Where’s Scarlett?” Janette turned and glanced at Danielle. She subtly observed her face down to her swollen lips. “She left a few minutes ago.” Janette answered plainly with her gaze still lingering on Danielle’s lips. “What is it, babe?” “Seemed you’ve been busy in there with your mistress?” Danielle squeezed her face for few seconds and immediately sobbed up and laughed cordially, bringing her hand to Janette’s fac.. Janette hit her hand away and swiftly stood on her feet. “I want to go.” Danielle stared at her confusingly, but nodded her head. All the way to Jackson’s office, Janette had refused to say a word to Danielle. Even when she tried to start up a conversati
EpilogueThere are times when I wondered if my parents haven’t sold me out to Jackson what would have become of me. Would I have still married Solomon? Is my life going to be different? If yes, then was it going to be better than these or worst? But to be honest, I don’t expect anything better than the life I have now. When I think about the possible wonderful-good outcome, my beautiful wife and handsome husband, my four children; yes I gave birth to another girl, making it three girls and a boy. Danielle decided that she wouldn’t go through the torment of pushing another baby and Jackson thought four kids were enough. As for my daily work, I finally returned back to the family business after giving birth to our last daughter, although sometimes I kept wondering why Jackson has a room full of sophisticated weapons, but that wasn’t much of a problem because I trust them both with my life. I help the maids sometimes when I’m less busy occupy the chi
Chapter 43“I will not do such a thing to my baby. Just stop it. You. She two should stop trying to convince me to kill my baby.” Janette screamed on top of her voice but quickly held her stomach. She seemed to be in great pain. Jackson quickly rushed to her side to help her. He took her to the bed and helped her to lie down. “You see what we are talking about babe, we can always get another baby, but we can’t get another Janette if you eventually die.” Danielle said sadly and sniffed. She fumbled for a handkerchief in her pocket and used to blow her nose. It saddened Janette to see Danielle crying like a child for the first time in her life, but what they were asking her to do was impossible. She can’t possibly watch the doctor remove her unborn child. “Please, honey, allow the doctor to save your life. We can’t leave without you.” Jackson murmured, stroking her hair. He felt wounded and useless because there was nothing he can do to save his child but he would do everything possible
Chapter 42Three months later, Fred was finally captured and apprehended. Rick, after being tortured almost to death by Anna and Henry he finally told Danielle and Jackson where they can find their money; it turns out that Fred has all their money. Justin begged for Fred not to be killed. No matter what happened, he still remains a family. Two days after returning home with Scarlett, Michelle crept down the wide staircase, all alone in search of Sandra and her father, Johnson. The day has finally come, the day she had Scarlett had prepared to tell her parents about their plan to get married. Even though Scarlett tried to convince her to wait and finish college first Michelle refused mildly, she made Scarlett promised that she would support her decision, Scarlett at first did not understand, she wanted to know what changed, why Michelle wants to marry her that quick. “Mum, dad are you home?” She yelled through the hallway and halted in front of her parents’ bedroom door. Raising her h
Chapter 41Danielle pulled a velvet-line jewelry box, opened it and show Janette a small, glittery diamond locked inside. All of a sudden Janette couldn’t breathe. She stared intensely at the gift with great shock. Danielle waited, one minute, two minutes; there was no word from Janette because she couldn’t find her voice. Her eyes immediately glitter, looked like she was about to cry anytime soon. “You—you don’t like it? If you don’t like it, I can actually go back there first thing tomorrow morning to return it.” Danielle said, closing back the small box that was still clenched in her hand with a sad look on her face. Janette quickly shook her head; “no, it is lovely, I was just mesmerized by the beauty of the locker.” Danielle wore a smiled. “I would be so honored if you would wear this to our little outing tomorrow evening.” The smile on Janette’s face deepened, her eyes beamed with excitement. With reverent enthusiasm, she told Danielle to sample it on her neck to see how it woul
Chapter 40A shiver of mistrust slithered through Janette as she tried to dismiss the thought of Danielle and the two young men who were tied with ropes around their body and the other was screaming and crying for help. She could barely do any work and wished that she never even came to the office because her head aches so much, Janette had been thinking, she wondered why Jackson refused to speak when she asked him if he knows that Danielle could actually kill a full human being. Janette wanted to walk into Danielle’s door and asked her questions that had been gnawing her since that day, but thought better of it. She had never felt such helpless rage in her life. The sudden ringing tune from her phone startled her. Looking at the screen in wonder, she saw that it was her mother who was calling. Janette dragged a ragged breath and took the phone from the table and took it to ear, leaning her elbow on the table; “hello mom,” she said almost above whisper and then massage her forehead wi
Chapter 39Michelle showed Scarlett where she can parked the car and after she had parked, she allowed her eyes to wander around, her eyes lingerie more on the beautiful restaurant and then she turned to look at Michelle who seemed to be in a deep thought. “Your mom’s restaurant is beautiful.” Michelle tried to hide her whirling thought as she gave her a bashful grin. “Wait until you see the inside, all thanks to your brother.” Scarlett raised her brow in a questioning manner. “My brother?” Michelle nodded enthusiastically; “yes, he opened this restaurant for my mom and help my dad with his business. That was before he got married to my sister.” Michelle told her truthfully. “Oh!” Scarlett exclaimed, turning to look out the window again; “he did a good thing. So can we go in now? I’m famish.” Michelle looked at her nervously and nodded. “Sure, of course.” They slowly climbed out of the car, Scarlett walked around and reached for Michelle’s right hand holding it in hers, Michelle hesit
Chapter 38The next morning was quiet in the Jackson’s household. Janette was awakened by the soft kisses thrown face by Jackson. When she stirred from her sleep, she wasn’t surprised that Danielle was already gone, using the back of her hand to clean her eyes. Her head then turned to Jackson beside her; “good morning, love.” He said in a hoarse voice, bringing his lips to kiss her again. “Morning babe, did you rest well?” Jackson nodded slowly, smiling at her. “Yes, I did.” Janette nodded too and swung her head to look towards the bathroom. Perhaps Danielle was bathing; where did she go to? Have she gone to finish what she had started yesterday? Janette wondered but stopped to think back over the incident that had happened the previous day. “Where’s Danielle?” She inquired, leaning her back to the bed board. Her eyes were fastened on Jackson. “She went to visit Justin before going to the office.” Jackson told her and narrowed his eyes, “is there something wrong? You seemed to be awfu
Chapter 37“Let us go, you fucking bastard.” Rick screamed on top of his voice the minute he saw henry and Danielle walked into the room. “Is that how you greet your boss?” Danielle said softly, proceeding into the dark room when she had determined to see their faces. “Please, ma’am, let me go. It was his idea and that of Mr. Fred; I never wanted to be part of this.” Peter pleaded as he struggled to free himself from the tight rope tight securely around his body. “Fred? Which Fred are you talking about?” Asked Danielle as she went further to look at Peter’s face clearly through the dime light, she did could scarcely believe it herself, but then again she wouldn’t be surprised if Fred name was mentioned after he had tried to kill Justin. “F-Fred, king Justin's stepfather.” Peter responded almost quickly, afraid of what might happen to him if he fails to answer. Danielle thought of her other bit of news for a moment. She pondered how Fred was able to commit such a crime when he wasn’t p
36 Janette tossed and turned and tried to fall asleep, but to no avail. She finally decided that she must have an open talk with Danielle. For the past four days, Danielle hasn’t been coming home early. Most times she returns when everyone has gone to bed. Even Jackson, too, hasn’t returned from Switzerland. All she was feeling was a strange emptiness, a lonesomeness gnawing within her and Juan too has started asking of her other parent. The twins can speak. But she knew that they’d missed theChapterir mama and dad, too. Janette lifted her eyes to look at the watch on the nightstand; ten minutes past one, she fretted. She had missed them terribly. Picking her phone from the bedside, she contemplated if to call Danielle or to wait for another few minutes. With a heavy heart and trembling legs, Janette dropped the phone back to its previous position and wobbled her way towards the bathroom. After she had finished peeing and washing her hands, she returned e room and decided to call Dan
