Chapter 4 : An Auction

Author: Scarlett Rossi
Rashid

~~On the other side of the world~~

"You can't actually be serious…"

"I am deadly serious, my friend," Zayed replied as he stared at me.

I had never expected to wake the next morning to the happy expression of my friend telling me he had found someone to entertain me. In fact, I had awoken this morning completely having forgotten about the damn bet I made with him the day before.

We spent all morning cooped up inside the embassy while our fathers bickered with overseas commissions. It reminded me of a never-ending cycle of blaming and pointing fingers as to why shipments were being delayed.

"Rashid."

Shaking my head from the thoughts of my father's business and the never-ending bickering from my mother over what I should be doing with my life, I glanced back at him, slightly annoyed. "I didn't think you'd actually take my challenge to heart, Zayed."

Laughter emitted from his throat as he shrugged his shoulders in a nonchalant kind of way. "Of course I did. You told me to find someone of your skill level. So that is exactly what I did."

I call bullshit. There was no way he found someone online who could keep up with me and if he did, what was wrong with her? The last thing I wanted was for a woman looking to get her fifteen minutes of fame by trying to snag a prince. That would just cause more issues I didn't need.

"Look, stop being so skeptical, and let me show you."

Giving in, I nodded reluctantly as I gestured in the direction of my wing. I had a hard time believing Zayed. In the span of less than 24-hours, had managed to not only find a website where he could properly browse for 'my type', but also one where the women would be willing to keep things on the down-low.

Most women in Dubai into the rough side of sex like myself, weren't the type to want to get involved with my family in general. Selling sex in Dubai was not only illegal, but punishable. Not to mention the implications of engagement being seen with the prince.

No woman in Dubai would, in their right mind, be willing to be seen with me out in public for fear of public ridicule they would most likely endure from news outlets that loved to dig into the personal lives of everyone we associated with.

We were not only politicians but figureheads for the people. The parasocial relationship we had with the people who adored us was a thin line easily trampled.

When we reached my room, Zayed shoved me inside and pulled the door closed behind us, locking us inside. Giving him a perplexed glance, I stood back as I watched him head through the living room of my quarters straight toward my private office.

"When you see this site, your mind is going to be blown."

I doubted that, but curiosity got the better of me—as it usually did—and caused me to follow behind him.

As Zayed took his place in the chair at my desk, I watched him quickly type my password into the login with deft fingers, causing my computer to quickly finish booting up.

"Remind me to change that," I said while sitting on the edge of the desk with one of my legs raised and the other braced on the floor.

He ignored me as he usually did and clicked open a browser, typing again into the search results and pulling up a website I didn't recognize. The black background, decorated with a red intricate design, had a padlock in the shape of a heart in its center, and a gray bar beneath it that read, 'LOGIN'.

"Don't worry, I already made you an account."

"Of course you did," I snorted, rolling my eyes. "Why would I think otherwise?"

"I told you. I've got you covered," he replied, glancing up at me with a smirk on his face as he continued with what he was doing. "You're not going to be disappointed."

I didn't remember him saying those words to me at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had said it off-handedly when I wasn't paying attention. Zayed had a strange mind for the details at times, and it always got him exactly what he wanted, but typically, he got him into an incredible amount of trouble because of his smart-ass attitude.

When the webpage loaded, it changed to an interface reminding me a lot of an online retailer. A bar on the side of the webpage had several dropdown arrows listing different filters used to sort the pages further. Then at the top of the page were categories listed as 'buying', 'selling', or 'trading'.

"What… is this?" I asked, my brow raised in both surprise and disgust. "They have them listed the same as you would a purse or clothing."

Again, Zayed laughed as he nodded his head. "Only you would make that observation, Rashid. Basically, this site is like a mega-site for sex or, well, finding the person who… What's the saying that Americans use… tickle your fancy?"

"Don't ever say that again." I groaned inwardly. "Now, before we go further… you didn't just take me to a site that I'm going to have Interpol raid me by this evening, did you?"

Zayed whipped around, his eyes wide. "What? Rashid, no! What kind of man do you take me for?"

"One that thinks finding a dominatrix to match my dominant is wise."

"What, you're not into that? I thought you were," he replied in shock, causing me to groan.

"No…" I stopped myself, not wanting to get into this with him. "Look, I don't have time to explain it to you. Just forget this idea."

"Wait, wait." He twisted back to the computer and clicked around a few times. "Let me just show you what I found—"

"Not interested," I said, slipping off the desk to stand again.

I wasn't going to let him involve me in whatever weird sex ritualistic listing he'd found in the middle of the night while still half-drunk on tequila. I liked it rough, not twisted. Plus, I could only imagine what kind of women would put themselves up on a site like this. Nothing against them, and their pleasures. But I was a prince. I didn't have the same freedoms they did.

"Rashid, wait."

"I told you. I have a very specific taste, Zayed."

"I know—"

"You don't," I snapped at him. "You never have and you never will. Stop trying to pretend that you've somehow figured me out just because you caught me that one time."

He turned away from the computer, his brow raised at me. "You mean when I caught you balls deep in a woman you were in the middle of dripping wax all over her tits? That time?"

I glowered at him with irritation. "Enough. Delete the account and let's move on from the conversation altogether."

Leaning back in the chair he stared at me with disappointment littering his face. I knew he had been excited about the prospect of helping me, but it wasn't helping. "You won't even let me show you what I found?"

"Zayed," I replied with a sigh. "Whatever it is… I'm not interested."

Turning away, I headed for the door. Only to have his next words stop me dead in my tracks.

"Not even for a woman selling her virginity?"

F*cking hell.

"…What?" I muttered under my breath, turning to glance over my shoulder at him. The disappointment that had once been placed on his face quickly disappeared as Zayed went on, clearly knowing that he had my attention.

"She's in the States. Just popped up on this website last night when I was browsing it. Take a guess how much the auction is at right now."

His eyes gleamed from the light from the monitor but had a mischievousness glint to it, making him look almost downright diabolical. I really didn't want to ask him the question but my curiosity had the better of me in the moment. "How much?"

"Nothing."

My brows slowly raised. That seemed completely impossible. Virgins were rare in our space. Not because they weren't around but because they were easily scooped up by doms, like myself. The art of training a virgin into being your own kind of perfect pet was something that I'd always wanted but had never gotten the chance to do.

Why didn't she have a single bid? She was incredibly valuable.

"How long's the auction been up?" I quizzed.

Zayed glanced down at the screen again. "22 hours."

That had me even more intrigued. For such a depraved website that Zayed had found, it was surprisingly not as kinky as it made itself out to be if no one on the platform had even bid a dime on that kind of listing.

"What," I drawled. "Is she ugly?"

He grinned. "Come see for yourself."

Striding over to where he sat, Zayed scrolled back up to the top of the listing. The picture of a woman, who was absolutely stunning, stared back at me causing my breath to catch. Never in my life had a woman all but stopped me in my tracks before but there was something about her bright blue eyes that pulled me in.

Dark brown hair that looked auburn in some pictures of her in the sun. Her bright blue eyes were wide and full of a kind of hapless joy I'd only seen in my baby sister. Even her damn smile was perfect with straight white teeth and perfectly pouty lips that I wanted to touch.

In most of her photos, she wore very little makeup and only enough to accentuate her natural eye shape. Something that I loved. If there was one thing that annoyed me more than anything, was a woman who plastered makeup on pretending to be something she wasn't.

I glanced up at the photos where it said 'Lyla' in bold.

"Lyla…" I murmured.

"Quite a catch, right?"

"Get up," I ordered him. Zayed not wasting another second, jumped out of my chair so I could settle in to admire Lyla a bit more. "Why isn't she getting any bids? Even if she was a catfish, someone should have been stupid enough to bid on her by now."

Not only was Lyla incredibly gorgeous, but she was also young and from the States. A complete catch.

Scrolling further down the listing where her measurements were as well as some basic information regarding her personality and hobbies, I admired more about this mystery woman. My curiosity over her driving my dominant urge to want to know more. All-in-all, she seemed like a girl who was either into that kind of thing or someone who was desperately in need of money and was selling the only thing she had to her name.

Something stirred in me though as I scrolled back up to look at her first photo—the one of her smiling with a flower tucked behind her ear, like the innocent woman she was claiming to be. I was always told that if it was too good to be true then it usually was, but training a virgin… that wasn't an offer that came along every day, and the more I thought about it… the more I wanted to take it on.

Usually, I would tell myself that I didn't have time. But the longer I stared at the beautiful face, the more my schedule was slowly starting to clear itself in my head. I could make the time.

"What do you think?" Zayed asked, breaking me from my thoughts.

"Can we tell if she's a catfish?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I tried doing a reverse image search but nothing came up. Either she's not on social media and these pictures are legit, or she has her accounts hidden from the search results. Either way, there's no way to tell."

"Hmm… when does the auction end?"

Zayed leaned forward to check. "Two hours from now."

"No bids…" I murmured. My mind couldn't wrap itself around it.

"How much should we bid?"

I snorted. With any other person, I'd be insulted, but with Zayed, I knew his question was brought on by the fact he knew what I looked like when I was fixated on something. And damn, was I fixated on her.

I breathed in slowly, wondering for the first time today if I'd truly gone mad. Within the same thought, I decided even if I was, I didn't want to know. "Bid 780. We'll see where that gets us with the bid snipers."

Zayed grinned and immediately typed in $780,000 into the bid box before hitting 'go'.

With the bid set, the only thing left was to wait. Wait to see if I won, and wait to see if this little innocent flower was as innocent as she claimed to be.

LylaPacing around Sven's house for the next twelve hours wasn't going to be a productive use of my time, so I headed back to my dorm with the hopes of figuring out how to solve the current problems I'm facing. Like what I was going to do about the money I owed to the school. Also, I was embarrassed. I didn't want to face the music that I had done something incredibly stupid and impulsive and put my pictures on a porn website. Even though none of them were explicit, I'd still advertised myself as such, which made it ten times worse in my book.Granted, I'd always admired those able to put themselves out there and be free and confident enough in their own body to sell themselves, but I couldn't. The comfort of my room and books was where I thrived. An introvert who strayed far from anything dangerous or exotic. The moment I stepped into my dorm I shut myself in and collapsed on my bed. Before I left, I'd made Jess promise he would have his phone on him the rest of the day and update me

Rashid"You think she'll answer?"Leaning away from the desktop, I rested my hand on my hip as I stared at the message I'd sent at the bottom of the chat log. A slow breath escaped my lips as I realized what the next steps were going to be in this process. When Zayed had finally placed the bid on Lyla's auction, not more than a few minutes after the account showed pending and her notification that she was online became active. For some reason, it'd made me insatiably curious. "I doubt she'll answer before the auction is over, Zayed."He swiveled in the chair to give me a look. One I was unfortunately familiar with. "Who else is going to outbid us? They'd have to put down at least a million."I raised a brow at him. "Us? I distinctly remember you inputting my card information. As well as you found this listing for me."He answered me with a lazy grin, shrugging. "I'm invested now, sue me."If Zayed really wanted to focus all of his energy on seeing this entire transaction through, the

RashidThe sound of her voice made my balls clench with the desire to please her. Never had a woman made me so eager to fuck her just by the sound of her voice, but this woman. She was driving me over the edge and she didn't even know it. Pushing my chair away from my desk, I leaned back into it imagining seeing her in person. The way her hair would probably cascade over her shoulders. How it would look wrapped within my fist as her back arched and her tight c*nt clenched around my cock as I ravaged her. "Best f*cking purchase ever…" I muttered to myself with a slick smile on my face.I'd sent Zayed away once I'd gotten Lyla to agree to a phone call. Not that I cared if he overheard, but I had a feeling if he did, he would've balked at my negotiations. Shaking my head, I sat back up, clicking out of the chat log and back to Lyla's profile where the countdown for the last hour remained. I was still the only bid on the page, which was a good thing. I didn't need this girl squeezing mo

RashidHaving the paperwork settled for getting Lyla to come over here went surprisingly smoother than I thought it would. In the end, I'd told her she could bring a guest with her while she was here. Traveling by herself would most likely scare her into not wanting to open up to me, and if we were really going to do this, then I wanted her to be as receptive to me as possible. The real problem had been to convince her to leave school. Since she'd just started her spring semester, it had been a bit of a hassle trying to get her to relent long enough to agree to step away for a time. I needed her to get on board with coming over here as soon as possible, not just because I wanted to fulfill our deal but also so she didn't have a chance to back out. She didn't seem like a fickle person, but the few conversations I'd had with her gave me the impression she was more than a little nervous about this entire situation. A baby bird flying out of the nest fo

LylaPrince. That word kept rattling inside of my head."Wow!" Melanie put her hands against the window and looked out onto the busy streets that we passed by. "This place is amazing, Lyla."I nodded vaguely, looking out my window with a sense of dread looming over me.Prince? There was no way. That had to be a nickname, right?Maybe the stewardess was giving me a subtle warning by telling me he acted like the prince whenever he was on board their flights. That had to be it. No way a damn prince bought my virginity online.Wasn't that some kind of scandal waiting to happen?Prince Rashid.Oh my god, it sounded so official.Panic was setting in again, so I pushed down the thoughts and turned to look outside my window to admire the city's beauty along with Melanie. I had to say, the scenery was incredible. Coming down in the jet, I didn't get a chance to look at anything out the window before we landed because I'd been so ex

RashidAfter changing out of my kandura and into regular street clothes so I wouldn't be recognized, I phoned ahead to clear out the section at my favorite open-top restaurant and headed downstairs to collect Lyla again. She was much more beautiful in person than her pictures let on, if that were even possible. Lyla wore a tight-fitted dress clinging to each part of her body—much different than the shorts and t-shirt she'd worn coming off the jet in. I could tell she wasn't used to wearing such things by the way she tugged at the hem, even though it perfectly showed off her stunning legs and the curve of her ass.Excitement brewed in me, of where our night would take us and where we'd end up. I planned on holding back until we returned from dinner, but the way she'd looked at me when we'd met had me second-guessing my mental itinerary. Not wanting to immediately pull her into my room and have my way with her the moment she arrived because I could tell she was ne

LylaWhen Rashid finally set me down, it was right outside of a door down a long hallway. I turned a few times, trying to figure out where we were since he'd been silent all the way here. I couldn't tell what time it was, but I assumed his quietness was due to him not wanting us to wake anyone. Seeing as how our lie about my internship had been widely accepted, it was wise of him not to want to draw attention to us sneaking around together in the middle of the night—or however late it was.He grabbed me again when he opened the door and pulled me inside. As soon as the door shut behind us, he had me backed up against the wall with his mouth covering mine again. This time, I let myself moan into the kiss. Whether it was from the alcohol or my adrenaline left over from the car ride, my inhibitions disappeared, and I wanted this kiss to make me feel exactly what I've always wanted it to—sexy and desired. LylaI woke up from the best sleep of my entire life.Stretching my arms over my head, I felt my body pop in a few places before I relaxed back into the cloud-like mattress beneath me. The light from the windows next to the bed gave the room a soft glow that made me feel more well-rested. Maybe it was something to do with the way the light shined through the room, or maybe it was because of my mind-blowing orgasm yesterday. I clapped my hands over my cheeks, feeling their heat seep into my hand. Now that I was much more sober than yesterday, and my head was clearer without all of my hormones clogging up my headspace, my brevity from last night was nowhere to be found. I can't believe we… me and Rashid…A prince. With. A. Prince. This was seriously out of some TV drama. I let my arms drop back down onto the bed and stared up at the clean ceiling. Lyla called out through the house.I looked up from the laptop resting in my lap, my eyes readjusting from looking at the screen for too long and watering slightly. "I got it," my sister said, pulling herself up from the floor."Thanks." I stretched my arms over my head, feeling my shoulders crack as I did so. Who knew trying to find accommodations for a former princess was going to be this much of a hassle?Salama and I had been working on finding her a place to live on her own while Lyla and I's house was being built. After her breakup with Javier, my parents had disowned her as well, cutting her off before she had a chance to explain that he'd masterminded an entire campaign into trying to steal my wife away to Spain with him.According to our parents, Salama was just as much of a failure as I was and since she'd gotten back into contact with me and come ov

Salama tried to jerk away from the guards surrounding her too. "Javier, what are you doing!"He sighed. "I'm sorry to tell you, but I have to break off our engagement. Don't worry, I won't make it look like you were at fault.""I don't care about that!" she snapped back. "You're not actually taking her back to Spain with you, right?""I am, actually."I shook my head. "I'm not going anywhere with you, Javier. You know that."He frowned at me. "Lyla, we had a deal. I help you get your baby back and you come with me to Spain. RashidI wasn't completely familiar with the palace but I had a general sense of where things were from the copious amount of times my father had gone into great detail about the intricacies of how this palace had been rebuilt after he'd become king. Why my father had been so obsessed with discussing architecture with me was beyond my comprehension at the time, but today I was grateful for it. Thankful even. Maybe I'd send the old bastard a thank you card after this was all said and done. After we'd closed Hafsa inside the nursery, we hurried down the hallway on the opposite side of where we'd come up from the staircase. I remembered there being a door to the outside toward the back of the palace, used for any of the waitstaff that came and went as they needed to.I didn't have any worries getting past them. By the time any of them realized who we were and what we were doing in order to call someone, we'd be long gone in a car to my jet sitting in the hangar w

LylaI instantly wanted to cry.All of my emotions over the past few days that I'd bottled down in favor of trying to remain headstrong were finally coming up to the surface at the mere thought of finally being able to see my child again. Was this it? Was this really it?"Is he…?" Rashid asked from across the room. Before I actually broke down though, I reached over the side of the crib and gently folded my hands under the bundle lying there, lifting him gently until I had him out of the crib and tucked into my chest. He made a small noise as he readjusted himself, pressing his face into my neck and sighing softly against my skin.Oh my god.Finally.My hand came up to curl around the back of his head, my entire body folding around him to protect him from everything. Like I was his own personal human meat shield. My baby. My son. Finally, back in my arms.I rocked him gently, feeling that familiar weight I remembered on my chest

LylaDucking and weaving around corners to remain hidden was more annoying than I thought it would be.With Salama guiding us through the palace, she was constantly grabbing my arm and yanking me into a dark room, the sounds of others passing by or even the remnants of someone moving down a corridor had us both spooked beyond belief.I wasn't sure as to why Salama's parents wanted her back just as badly as they wanted Rashid, but I tried to stop understanding them a long time ago. It was easier to just assume the worst at this point. We wandered around what felt like every single damn hallway we could find. Having no clue as to how we were supposed to get out of here, or where to find Rashid in all of this as well as where Hafsa had run off to. Both of us were slowly growing more frustrated with each hallway we stumbled upon."This place is so horribly mapped," she spat as she dragged me down another corridor. I had no idea who the hell I was going to call, but I had to try someone.Pulling my phone out, I dialed Melanie first. Her groggy voice answered me only a moment later."Mmm… Lyla?"I gasped into the phone. "They have me locked in a room!""What?" There was rustling on the other end. I sobbed into the phone, my entire body shaking as I spoke. "They locked me in a room! They took Salama away too! Javier's going to take me to Spain with him and I'm never going to get to see my baby again!""Hold on, I can't—hold on." There was a groan on the other end from Zayed before Melanie came back on the phone. "Lyla, where are you?""The palace in Abu Dhabi," I choked out. RashidWe followed the attendant to an unmarked room away from the waiting room we'd been kept in for a little over half an hour. I wasn't surprised they were all taking their time. It was normal for officials to draw these kinds of things out, either for their own benefit by starving their clients, or making them too aggravated to think properly. And while normally it had the potential to work, both Javier and I were above falling for such things. We'd been trained in it, after all.Although, I am becoming a little jittering having to wait for so long. Lyla Waking up the next day to Rashid's grave face sent me into a small panic attack that I ended up locking myself inside of my bathroom to deal with it while he got the rest of our stuff ready to head out.I didn't want to bother him with more of my head-shit, having seen him stressed way too much about the other things on his plate he had very little control over. It wasn't fair of me to monopolize him with all of my problems when he had his own to sort out too. Dumping everything onto him, especially right before we were going to be heading out, was a shitty thing to do.Finally, after what felt like an hour, I gathered myself and splashed some water on my face before finally leaving the bathroom and heading out to join the rest of our group in the living room. Surprisingly enough, they all looked just as stressed as I felt, even Salama who I'd suspected only came on this trip to supervise her fiance looked like she'd barely slept all night.
