Chapter Thirty One

“Sydney?” I landed on the seat. “Where are you?”

“It doesn’t matter where I am. What matters is what you’re doing.”

I glanced at Brea. She stood in front of the door. I wouldn’t be able to run if I wanted to. She watched me like a hawk. How did this alliance even come out?

“I’m getting married,” I said.

“To my fiancé!”

“Stop Sydney.” I cleared my throat and moved from the table and walked to the balcony door.

The wedding was at Brad’s ancestral home. I had been on the first floor getting ready for five hours.

“Good idea. Jump and all this is over.” Brea smiled.

I scrawled and peeked outside. The chairs were set, and the alter was prepared. It was a glamorous display of pearl-white flowers hanging from the green hedges and along the plush grass. Brad wasn’t here. He slept at a hotel.

“Darling sister. I can’t even give you the benefit of the doubt.”

“I know Brad broke things off with you before you left. Besides what you had was just an arrangement.”
