ARIANNA'S POV

I was having breakfast with Alex and Dave when Carter and the rest of his entourage joined us. Luciano had been called away at the break of dawn. I was too sleepy to ask what for, and he was in too much of a hurry to explain.

“Hi, max.” I say with a smile. Intentionally ignoring Carter and Ciara.

“Glad you all could join us. Alpha Luciano sends his apologies, he had to attend to some business and would be away for most of the day.” Dave said being polite and diplomatic.
