* Alpha King Zed *

"How is the West?"

I smirk, I know exactly what she's asking about not the West but him. She wants to know if Alpha Joe is alright. I don't feel that mad anymore after I told him that he couldn't enter the palace without my permission. He hesitated but out of respect, my cousin was forced to comply because I was helping his pack get safe.

"He's alright, he'll survive after getting his hand torn and his legs chopped off because of the poison from the rogue bite."

Her eyes widened, followed by a loud gasp. A genuine smile curved my lips and as she met my gaze it took her a while to realize that I was not serious.

"Oh! You're not serious! I almost had a heart attack."

I groaned, the topic would just ruin my day if I continued to speak with her about it. My cousin has no match for me if I focus myself on one purpose and right now I am beginning to see why he was drawn to her. He didn't promise not to visit her anymore but he did promise to ask for my permission so every

    * Althea *I have to say that the last conversation I had with the Alpha King disturbed my thoughts all night. Yes, I am his wife and should be. I have those duties towards him that I must fulfill, but ours is not a normal marriage! I sighed and finished the cup of coffee in my hand, thinking if I should send a message to Alpha Joe. I could use a good friend right now, but I also thought that he could be busy strengthening his defense in the West. "A penny for your thoughts?"I turned around to see Zeina in a tracking suit. "Oh! Good morning to you too.""Let's go somewhere to let off some steam, I am kind of bored out here."She pouted her lips and walked back to my room. I followed her, thinking it could be a bright idea to forget what was bothering me."Where do you want to go?"I followed her outside the chambers, where Dylan and Alberts were both ready to go with us. "Just to the training center, you haven't seen the female warriors work and let off some steam. Join me, I haven

    * Alpha King Zed *I felt a heavy chill in the wind as I looked up at the half-moon in the sky, and then I heard the howling of the warriors on a far border. Without any second thought, I shifted my human form into a big wolf and jumped out of the balcony. Just then, Beta Osuof called into my mind a link."Your Majesty, an attack is happening back in the West right now, and a distress howling of the warriors can be heard."Cursing through my breath I jumped the gates and did not wait for the warrior guards to open it. "I am coming outside the Palace. Where are you?""Here your Majesty, I am with the lead warriors. We are waiting for your decision."This is the fight that I had anticipated since last week and the one that Alpha Joe has been preparing for. He was ready I am sure however we don't know how strong the enemies are! I saw the group of big wolves waiting for me outside the Palace gates."Your Majesty. Do you want me to go and give a hand to Alpha Joe or are you going there by

    * Althea *Everyone in the Palace was shocked as the news of what had happened to the West arrived. I was deeply sad for Alpha Joe, he was badly injured and the only one who survived. Alpha King Zed brought him to the Palace for treatment and to keep him safe, but until now, he hasn't awakened. I thought they were prepared for the enemies but no one has expected that the rogues would come so strong. "God I feel so sorry for my cousin.”Zeina whispered as we both watched the doctors and nurses attending to him inside the room. His heartbeat is weak, we can barely hear it, his skin is pale and his eyes are closed. The Alpha Joe that I once knew was gone he looked like a different person lying on top of the bed. But the fact that he is still alive gives us hope that Alpha Joe will soon survive this."He is strong Zeina, I am sure that he can survive this and he will wake up soon," I said with so much hope but something deep inside me feared for his feelings, how would he handle the trut

    * Althea *I was watching the beautiful full moon, wearing my white negligee, and I didn't feel sleepy. The full wolf moon has finally shown up and I was thinking about him. Alpha King Zed should be in his room right now or not if he is with the warriors still securing the borders. He had been restless since the invasion of the rogues in the West, and I couldn't help but sigh thinking about Alpha Joe who suffered a major loss. I am unsure if we could still call him Alpha after what happened. But thanks to Alpha King Zed he is still alive and he chooses to save him."Beautiful isn't it?"His voice startled me, so deep and husky. I turned around to find Alpha King Zed standing behind me, his remark was referring to the moon but his eyes were all over me."How did you come here? I didn't even notice you coming."My eyes were wide, not because of fear but due to the glimmer of excitement dancing in his eyes. "This is my Palace, I can go to any room if I want and you won't notice me unless

    * Alpha King Zed *I woke up earlier than she did and had to go for a quick run before the pack duties. The borders are on high alert because of the rogues living in the West. The other night, I sent Beta Osuof on a journey to ask the Alphas of different regions for help with the situation. We must take back the Western territory from the rogues. They have slaughtered all the wolves of the West and only left Alpha Joe to survive."Good Morning your Majesty!"Surprised to see Beta Osuof already waiting for me in the office, I can't deny that I am still preoccupied with the thought of her body in my arms. I shouldn't have done it, yet I don't have a single regret because I married her."Beta Osuof, good morning! You are early, thank you. But please before anything else I need to hear some good news."I took a seat behind my desk and let my back lean on the soft leather. He sighed, I didn't like the way he looked worried that I could already tell I was not going to hear anything good."

    * Alpha King Zed *"Brother, you wanted to speak with me?"Zeina asked as soon as she got inside the office. I figured we need to leave as early as tomorrow afternoon for the long journey so she must choose her clothes today and get the things ready for the occasion. "Yes, it's important that you need to pick a good dress for the Alpha of the North's birthday. He sent an invitation so I decided that we have to go."Her brows furrowed. "Since when did you care about birthday invitations? This is not very important, now that our pack is in danger after the invasion of the West. I don't think we have time to attend some birthday."She took a sit in the chair in front of my desk, the smile she wore on her lips the first time she came in vanished."You don't understand, it is exactly because of that reason that we must attend the birthday party of the Alpha of the North."My sister shook her head. "Are you trying to get his help that's why we need to go there and make a good impression?"

    * Althea *"Bye Thea, be careful dear. I wish you could come with us but my brother has already decided."Zeina smiled while giving me a tight hug. They were all set to leave the Palace along with the selected warriors and, of course, Alpha King Zed."Oh, I do understand that I have to stay. So you enjoy the journey with your brother and be safe, and you enjoy the party in the North who knows? You might find someone from there."She chuckles and looks behind her, Alpha King Zed is watching us. I am aware that his eyes were on me for a while now but for some reason, he is trying to hold himself back. Maybe because Beta Osuof is standing not far from me and the servants are also nearby."Well, I'm going to head inside the car now maybe my brother has something to tell you."Her smile widened as she stepped back and got inside the white van. She's leaving with her servants and two other warriors plus the driver. Alpha King Zed is taking the Ford truck with him along with three lead warri

    * Althea *The sadness filled my heart as he struggled to let his leg down from the bed but I looked away before he could read the emotion that I felt through my eyes. I have never once thought that Alpha Joe would end up like this, his other leg is made of metal since they had to cut it off after the infection spread. The doctors tried their best to save it but it could put his life in danger."It feels strange to have my other leg so foreign to me. Even when the doctor explained why this happened I still couldn't manage to walk like this."With his feet hanging on the edge he sat still wondering if he could stand up. "Maybe give it some time Alpha Joe, it looks normal."From the wide pants that his wearing, at first glance anyone would think that he has both normal legs. He laughed but it did not reach his eyes and I couldn't laugh with him as I looked at his feet."You don't even have to call me Alpha Joe anymore Thea, just call me Joe anyway I don't have a pack now. * Princess Zeina * As I was deep in my sleep, wrapped in the kind of darkness that only true exhaustion can bring, something tugged me out of it. I didn't know what it was at first, there had been no loud bang, no violent shake but suddenly, my eyes flew open. My heart skipped a beat. The room was cold and silent except for one thing a low, guttural groan. It wasn't far. It was close. Too close. The sound echoed in my ears like a wolf's howl carried on the wind, only this wasn't outside. It felt like it was inside my room. I sat up slowly, heart thudding, and turned to my right. My breath caught in my throat. A shadow no, a figure was standing just beside my bed. Watching me. Staring. I jerked up, fear instantly sharpening my senses. “Who are you?!" I demanded, my voice still hoarse from sleep but edged with alarm. The figure groaned again, low and strange. Fumbling, I reached for the lamp on my nightstand and switched it on. The dim glow revealed the face I least expected

    * Princess Zeina *"How is he doctor?"All eyes were fixed on the bed where Chief Greene lay motionless. His body was still, but his expression had shifted, gone was the look of pain and unrest that had haunted him for days. Now, it seemed he was only dreaming, as though whatever plagued him had temporarily loosened its grip. It made me feel at ease. The pack doctor turned to me, bowing his head slightly in respect. "He is actually in good condition, Your Majesty. I believe his human form is struggling to adapt to the surge of strength granted by his awakening. That's likely what caused him to collapse. However, I believe once he completes his shift, things will stabilize. The fight with the guards triggered the process. He's close, very close, to fully taking on his wolf form."Relief swelled in my chest, and I let out a slow, calming breath. It was the first good news we'd had in days, about Cheif Greene and his transformation from human into a wolf."They fought because he was try

    * Robert Greene *I woke up the following morning with the doctor examining my pulse, his eyes flashed when he saw me open my eyes lids and I snatched away my arm before he could hold it again."Hello there! Good morning! I am glad that you finally can wake up."I got up to sit on the bed and leaned against the headboard. He looked young, probably a few years younger than me. The smile on his face just made me feel annoyed for no reason."Who are you?"It's a little rough on my neck, but I found my own voice to ask him. Probably the groaning from the previous night made my throat go dry. I looked for some water and found a bottle on top of the table. I grabbed it, opened the lid, and devoured the water."I am your doctor, well my name is Andre, one of the doctors in the pack but when it comes to the Alpha house I am mostly the one in charge. Her Majesty has appointed me a task to see to it that you are well. Are you still thirsty?"The bottle was empty when I finished, I crumpled it a

    * Princess Zeina *It was a beautiful evening where the sky was filled with stars and the moon was shining brightly, apart from that I no longer worry so much about the problems I had on the pack. As the new Alpha I am struggling to keep the pack together with the threat of rogues knowing the history that happened here before I took over. It's a good thing that I have the support of my brother the Alpha King, he was my relief knowing that he always has my back. Now I no longer have doubts that I can protect this pack.I head to my bedroom when the wind blowing from the balcony gets colder. I locked the door of the balcony and closed the curtains before getting under the mattress. One thing that's great here in the West is even when it is hot and sunny in the morning in the evening it becomes cold which is a good thing. But when I close my eyes and think of sleeping my ears perk up and I hear some growling, a faint sound of someone like it's in pain. My eyes opened wide, the noise was

    * Princess Zeina *"How long has he been treated?"My brother's question made me look up to him from the sight of the man on top of the bed, the second day he was confined in the guestroom of my Alpha house. The Chief of the town's police station is here, and his fellow officers have declared him missing."This is the second-day brother, Aldin was able to save him from the rogue but he was already bitten."My brother looked at the man and then walked away from him to the window of the guestroom. "I know him, his father used to be a friend when he served as the Chief in one of the towns near the Palace. I didn't know that his son would be assigned here."Surprised by the calmness of my brother revealing a not-so-comfortable truth. "Oh! Then his Father would probably be notified that he was missing! This will raise complications on our pack."He sighed and looked at me. "Yes, that's for sure. His father knows about our existence, it would only take a matter of time before he would seek

He closed the door and I walked towards the benches outside, in the garden of the Alpha house. The flowers have been blooming, it should make me smile but I am far from happy today.“Start talking Aldin.”My voice laced with worry and anticipation, I know that his bringing in a human patient to the Alpha house is bad news.“Your Majesty, we were watching the Chief at the police station. However, we failed to notice that the rogue had learned about where he lived. Our warrior was almost too late to rescue him, good t

    * Robert Greene *The whole week was spent patrolling and digging into the whereabouts of the people who lived near the area where the incident happened but still, we couldn't find the wolf. The animal who attacked both of my police officers and killed Gary has still not been apprehended. I spent the first day of the weekend cleaning my apartment and took some rest then waited for my fiancee to come. She said she would visit me on the weekend, and when it was almost sundown I thought she was late. The knocks on my apartment door made me get up from the couch. Thinking that it could be my fiancee outside, I removed the lock and opened the door to see my guest."What are you doing here?!"The same man who knocked on the doors of the police station that night is now standing in front of me."Coming to finish what I started."My impulses kicked in as I attempted to close the door on his face, but his hand got in the way and pushed me hard into the inside. The cleaner had just turned on the hover and doing his job before the other officers came in. I yawned and stretched my sore muscles from a few hours of being stiff as I stood and opened the door."Good morning Chief, rough evening?"The eyes of the old man looked at my uniform and smiled. "Morning Arnold, yeah it was kinda rough and lonely being alone on the night shift."He nodded. "Would you like some coffee Chief?"I shook my head. "No, I'm going to take a shower at home and get some sleep, coffee would just prevent that."He smiled and continued what he was doing, I opened the door of the station and looked outside. Everything seemed to be normal like there was nothing happened last night. Go home now. Your overtime is not paid."Both of them carried their things and were probably just waiting for me to arrive. "We're just about to go home, Chief. Are you sure you're alright with doing the night patrol alone? I mean, maybe you can skip it until we receive the new people coming in the next day."There was a hint of worry in Edmond's voice when I met his gaze. "Go on home now Edmond, and come early tomorrow. This will only be temporary, we can't let a night pass without doing patrol, especially after what happened."He sighed and signaled the intern to go on ahead. "Goodbye Chief."The intern bid a short farewell which I replied with a nod. Edmond looked at me for a couple of seconds."It's because of what happened the last time that makes me feel worried Chief.""Go home Edmo
