*Lucia*

My hands gripped The steering wheel tightly as I drove home. It still felt like a dream. Never had I once stopped to think that I'd have to face Jason someday. I wasn't mentally prepared, but I was glad I was able to pull through without breaking down and crying. I felt a little tug in my heart when he called my name earlier. Not the one you feel when you are in love but the one you feel when you are sad and overwhelmed with emotions you find so hard to describe.

The sun was still up in the sky.

Its light bathed me inside the car through the window as I had wound down the glass. I stared outside while waiting for the red light to turn green. I looked around, taking note of my surroundings. I wanted to distract myself. I didn't want to think about Jason. He wasn't worth it. Although he tried to say that he wasn't the one who had ordered or told Sarah to do all those things, she did. I didn't believe it.

I wasn't stupid.

If he truly wasn't the one, then where was he all th

*Sarah* I didn't want to believe that Jason had found out. I wanted to pretend that he hadn't just walked out on me a while ago. Jason had been with me for a while. And though what I wanted from him was more than just living in the same house, I was content. It felt surreal to see the man I loved each morning I woke up. I could have breakfast with him. And then drink with him. Jason didn't have a specific time he drank and could get wasted in the middle of the day. It may not mean too much to him, but these things meant a lot to me, and I kept hoping and praying that he would never meet Lucia. I had my men searching for her. I wanted to find her first so I could get rid of her. But that was all an illusion. Like always, Jason was a step ahead of me. And the little bitch had shown herself in front of him. I knew she wasted no time in blabbering to him. She must have told him everything I did to her in a single line. I knew the bitch hated me, but I couldn't be more glad. It made t

*Lucia* Hands entwined, Bruno and I walked down the stairs. Bruno had kissed me in public right after tying the rope as if to seal the fact that we would be together forever. I felt the butterfly in my stomach jungle around at the thought of his lips on mine. I bit my lower lips as I walked behind him. “Where are we going?” I asked when I noticed we weren't walking in the direction of our car. He didn't turn but kept on walking. “I think we should spend a little more time before heading back,” he says. The city was bursting. Aside from the stars which spread like blankets on the sky, the City was illuminated by lights, some from cars, others leaking from the tall building on each side and some on the street poles. Beautiful. That was all I could say. I walked beside Bruno, trying to keep up the pace with him. Seeing that I was struggling to keep up his pace, he slowed down. I smiled at his action. When was the last time we went out together like this to enjoy ourselves? I couldn't

*Bruno* I sat behind the table as I watched Lucia walk towards the bathroom. Her hair which was packed into a ponytail dangled with each step she took. She turned before finally stepping into the hallway which led to the restroom. Her face glowed in the light, and I could only thank my stars for having such a beautiful lady beside me. For a very long time, I wanted to bring Lucia here; I wanted her to see what it was like to be here. This was my private stop, just like the lake. It was also my mom's favorite place before it was renovated to become something this- something a little fancy. The couple by the side, who had been lovey-dovey since the beginning, has stood up and left. I watched as they left before taking a glance at my golden Rolex wristwatch. Lucia should be back by this time but she wasn't here. I tensed a little, especially after remembering that there was someone who was out to get us. Instinctively, I shrugged off the chair, pushing it back. It connected roughly

*Lucia* It has been over three days since I met Jason but I couldn't get him off my mind. I felt guilty every time I looked at Bruno, I was thinking about another man while all he thought of was me. I didn't know what to do with Jason. I didn't know what to feel towards him, of course, I know I don't love him anymore. I wonder what Sarah stood to gain from tearing us apart. Was sending me off a mistake? Sigh. Different thoughts ran through my head as I stirred the vegetables in the cooker. I had refused to go to the club. Being in the same office as Bruno while my mind was filled with Jason would suffocate me to death, and I wasn't prepared for that. I flung my neck to the side, massaging it with my free hands. My legs ached. I had been in the kitchen since noon, and now it was already evening. I was trying to distract myself but ended up doing more thinking than I should. I closed my eyes, switching off the cook. I walked to the side. My hands moved to my back untying the apron

*Lucia* After waiting for an eternity for Bruno to return, I got fed up and changed out of the nightgown I wore. If he doesn't come home, I'll go to him. I drove as fast as I could to the club. The last thing I wanted was to allow this misunderstanding to last till morning. Bruno's office was left slightly ajar. I walked towards it but froze when I saw him making out with a girl. Tears streamed out of my eyes. Why? Was he that angry that he thought the best way to repay me was to make out with someone else? I yelled at the girl, and she scurried away. Bruno said nothing as the girl left. He downed a glass of alcohol on the table. He looked almost lifeless. I walked towards the door and shut it. “What are you doing here?” He asked me. “Shouldn't you be with your boyfriend?” I didn't answer, instead I kept walking towards him. When I got closer, I noticed his trousers were open, and the tip of his cock was visible. “Did you fucked that bitch?” I asked, trying to sound calm. Bruno d

*Lucia* He pulled away from my touch and stepped back, hurriedly removing the rest of his slacks and briefs out of the way. In a flash, he was back in front of me, his body flush against my chest, and this time, the pain from the table digging into my skin was exciting. "You're so naughty, Lucia, You look so innocent, but underneath that facade, you're a bad girl. Who taught you all the bad things you know?" "That would be you, my love," I replied with a smirk plastered on my face. "I'll continue to teach you how to pleasure me to the fullest." He said, and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to him. "I want you so badly." He whispered, seducing me more to the brink of tears falling at the side of my eyes. "Then what are you waiting for, love? Do it; have me at your liberty." I invited. Bruno growled in response and pulled away from me once more. He turned me around and pulled me roughly to himself so that my back was against his chest. He leaned down to my ear and star

*Lucia* “Wow, this is more beautiful than I expected it to be,” I said. Bruno held my hands in his as we stood outside for a while to enjoy the lovely view of the restaurant. My smile widened, and I turned to look at him, “Just how many surprises do you have for me?” I asked. “I knew you would like it,” he beamed with joy. A couple walked past us and I could hear the lady who wore a black sleeveless gown speaking about how beautiful the place was. “As for the surprise, I haven't even started,” he said. He tightened his hold on my hand. “I hope the food tastes as beautiful as the exterior looks,” I said. I wore a light pink gown, which stopped on my thighs. I held a black purse close to me. Bruno wore a black suit, but that didn't prevent his broad shoulders from being visible. He looked as handsome as always, his sharp jaws and those lips. He looked charming, handsome, and beautiful, dangerously beautiful. I was glad he was by my side. “I promise you won't be disappointed,” he sai

*Bruno* I walked to the restroom immediately after Lucia left. A smile tugged on my lips. Lucia liked this place, too. It brought more joy than I ever thought it would bring me. The chatter hasn't reduced even a bit. I had seen someone sitting behind us. Whoever it was had his eyes pinned on us all the time, and I saw Lucia tender when she noticed it. Though she claimed to be okay, I was sure she wasn't. I pushed open the door to the restroom and walked in. After doing my business, I returned only to find our seats empty. Lucia wasn't back. I squinted my eyes. She was supposed to be back. I walked back to the restroom. My shoes clicked loudly on the tilted floor with each step I took. I had a bad feeling about this. But this restaurant had one of the tightest security, nothing could happen to her, and she should be fine. And she knows how to defend herself, she is no kid. Except… I didn't want to consider that possibility. There was no way she would be with him. And I convinced

*Lucia* Three weeks passed by in the twinkle of an eye. Everything seems to be a dream. Bruno and I would have been married if it wasn't for Steve's unwelcome visit and me getting kidnapped. Sigh. It was a tough one. And I think I was affected by the kidnapping. We had decided to push back the time for our wedding. We haven't discussed the particular date but I hoped it was soon. I twitched my lips, staring out my bedroom window and getting lost in thought. It seemed like it had only been yesterday when Steve had stormed back into our lives and I'd been kidnapped, Bruno and I would have been married if it wasn't for Steve. I shivered just remembering everything I'd gone through being away and alone for so long. I couldn't even walk around the house without looking to see if anyone was walking behind me. Not to mention, I've also been feeling extremely nauseous lately. And I wasn't even on my. . . My breath stopped. I felt my heart pound as I rushed to the nightstand to pick up my

  • Sold To The Mafia Lord   Chapter 80

*Bruno* It was the longest night of my life. I was finally able to bring Lucia home. Looking at her as she lay on the bed, her eyes closed, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I hate the fact that our wedding was interrupted. If Steve had not interrupted our wedding, then we'd have been in each other's arms. I squeezed the water from the small napkin I held and used it to wipe her face. Her white wedding gown was now brown. She had been in that dress all day. I helped her out of the gown. I didn't want her to be lonely, so I stayed with her all night. She kept tossing and turning. She couldn't sleep comfortably. That I notice. So I took her to the bathtub and placed her in it. She didn't wake up. She must have been so stressed, tired, and hurt. I had failed to take care of her. I dressed her up and placed her on the bed. My hands ached. It was past 5 am when I finally woke up and went downstairs. I had lost three men in the fight yesterday. I was hurt and wished I could go back a

*Lucia* I had given up. I didn't think any miracle would happen. I just realized that this place I was in with Steve may be very far, a place Bruno would never have been able to figure out so easily. Steve had unexplainable joy in his eyes, as if the world was doing him the biggest favor by allowing him to wrap his hands on me. His grip around my neck turned tighter, and air seemed difficult; strength seeped away from me with each minute. But I never stopped struggling, even though it seemed fruitless. Just when I thought it was all over for me, there was a thud; Steve was distracted for a while. He turned to the door quickly, but that thud wasn't enough for him to let me go. But he didn't need to ask, he was soon wrapped and thrown away from me. Bruno. I felt I was seeing things; Bruno was here. Steve's grip around my neck loosened, and I fell to the ground. My hands wrapped around my neck as I struggled for air. “Lucia, are you alright?” Bruno asked, walking to me. I tried to s

*Lucia* He sensed me coming with the rope, but it was too late to duck as I wrapped it firmly around his neck. He wiggled, trying to turn the table, and sure, he was strong, but I didn't want to give him the pleasure of seeing me weak or thinking he was stronger. The light dimmed. “How do you feel now?” I asked. He was low, and his hand was on the rope. I held him tighter. If I allowed him to overpower me for just one moment, I didn't know what he would do. He stopped wiggling. “Having fun?” He asked. His hands were still on the rope. “You bet,” I responded. “You may have to tighten this rope to kill me,” he says, struggling a bit. I liked the fact that he was struggling. “Okay, fun time is over,” he said. His hands moved to mine, and he pressed my hands. His grip was tight and solid. Then, one of his hands moved to the rope, and he easily moved it over his head. I put up a fight. I wasn't going to allow him to get away so easily. So, I quickly wrapped my hands around his ne

*Lucia* His hands fell on the side. He ended the call before Bruno could ask for the location. I struggled on the chair where I was tied. “How did it feel to see your love? I know you've missed him, but don't worry, I'm sure he does too and will soon come to pick you up,” he said. His voice rang in my head. “I never knew your voice could be so irritating. Do you think Bruno is stupid? He will come for me, and you better be prepared,” I said, one side of my lips lifting to the side as I stared directly into his eyes. He didn't react to what I said. He tilted his head to the side and then straightened it. He burst out laughing, his laugh piercing the air. He flung his head from side to side, a big, wide smile on his lips. He was indeed a psycho. “You are being delusional. I wish there was anything I could do to help you. You think Bruno will come for you?” “He will. He always has,” I said, puffing my chest out despite the rope he tied me with. “Don't tell me you are scared of him com

*Bruno* I furrowed my brows when I saw his message. This bastard, my grip around the phone tightened. “What does he want?” Rave asked, stepping close to me to take a look at the text. I extended the phone, giving him a better view but not leaving it completely. “What? He wants to talk over a video call. The nerve of him,” said Rave, his voice a little bit over the top. I dropped my hands to the side. “Let's give him what he wants,” said Jason, standing at the side. It's just a video call; it shouldn't change much.” He sounded sure that there would be changes or that the call would lead us somewhere. The curtains by the window on the other side danced in the air. “Do you even know what you are saying? You want us to agree with his terms, no. We are not going to make him feel superior. He won't tell us what to do," said Rave at the same time. He was facing Jason, who didn't seem to want to stop. “So you say we ignore his message and keep searching for Lucia ourselves?” Rave raised a

  • Sold To The Mafia Lord   Chapter 75

*Lucia* My body felt sore all over. The last thing I remember was that I was hit on the head with a gun. Where the hell am I right now? I was laying on something hard and rough. I turned slowly; my body felt trapped in the white gown that I was wearing. I wanted to get rid of the gown. I opened my eyes slowly. It was dark. Wherever this place was, there was no single light. It was pitch black—that dick. I'll skin him alive. I cursed through gritted teeth as I tried to sit up. And the gown was making all my movements uncomfortable. I may not know where I was, but one thing was clear: it wasn't somewhere I'd like. And the smell. It smelled so much like rotten meat in condemned kitchen water. I almost threw up but held myself. I'll kill this idiot. He should wait and be patient. I won't end up here. I refused to give up. I believe that Bruno would come for me. I am confident. Bruno. I sigh at the thought of him. I sat, holding my legs to my chest and laying my head on it. I can

*Bruno* I felt sore all over my body. I was lying on something soft. I wanted to open my eyes, but I couldn't. Opening my eyes felt like a chore. I moved my fingertip. From the smell of the bedsheets, I knew I was in my room. I had a hard time trying to remember why I was lying here. Fuck. My memories came flooding back to me. I was supposed to get married to Lucia. We didn't get married. I opened my eyes. It wasn't as hard as it was before. It was as if I was filled with a different energy. The room was bright from the bulbs that hung in the middle of the room. I blinked twice in succession, adjusting to the light. Lucia Where was she? Why was I here? The last thing I remember was being shot and Lucia; I couldn't see her; I didn't know what happened to her. Did Rave come to save her? And that bastard, Steve, I'll rip him limb by limb. I sat up slowly, my shoulder aches to my hand. My hands were bandaged. This wasn't the first time I was shot; it wasn't much of a big deal to me

  • Sold To The Mafia Lord   Chapter 73

*Steve* Since I watched Sarah die in front of me, I have always envisaged how Lucia would die. Although I had gotten the report from the autopsy done on Sarah, and they claimed that she had died from something other than the stab, I still couldn't bring myself to accept it if she hadn't met Lucia that evening if Lucia hadn't stabbed her. If she had not been pushed by Bruno, I believe she would still be alive. Someone needed to be blamed for her death, and Lucia would. I left Jason. Once he knew that Lucia didn't kill Sarah, he would surely take a step back and refrain from helping me. I didn't know what I wanted from him yet, but all I knew was that he was still very useful to me, and I didn't want to lose him yet. I bid my time. I was waiting for the perfect time to attack them. When I heard about their wedding, I thought that was the best place to visit them and settle the scores, so I went to the wedding. I didn't need to be invited. It was sufficient that I knew the venue. No
