I was curious about the look on Lord Blade's face but I did not dare look up at him. He wouldn't hesitate to behead me. “Look at me!” he commanded suddenly. I slowly looked up at him from my eyelids as my head was still lowered. Suddenly, I felt a hand under my chin and then, my head was lifted upwards. “When I say look at me, you need to turn your head up at me. Understand?” his light grey orbs bore into mine.

He looked absolutely scary when he was frustrated. “Yes sir…” I really needed to expand my vocabulary.

His hand then glided along my jaw and down toward my neck, sending shivers down my spine. Slowly, goosebumps erupted on my skin, making me aware of his touch on my skin. My breath hitched in my throat when he started to lean forward. I closed my eyes tightly and waited for him to release me. His hair brushed my cheek and then his hot breath fanned across the side of my neck. What was he even doing? I was getting anxious.

Lord Blade inhaled sharply, making my body tremble in unknown anticipation. “You will do anything I ask of you to do?” he murmured in my ear this time. “I will!” I answered. Suddenly, he snaked his one hand around my waist and the other was placed on my head as something soft and warm touched my neck, earning a gasp from me. My eyes shot open and I realised that Lord Blade had placed his lips on my neck. “Lord Blade…” I whispered to which he hummed and glided his nose along my neck. My body trembled again at his touch. No one had touched me like that. Not a single person. Except for…

“You will certainly do everything I ask of you, no?” his voice interrupted my thoughts. I nodded as his breath fanned against my neck again and then he turned to look at me. He raised his hand and I closed my eyes in reflex as I turned my head away. I thought I would be getting slapped for not speaking but instead, his hand cupped my face and his thumb slightly grazed my cheek.

“What are you so afraid of?” he asked me. I only looked away in response. He then got up and extended his hand for me to take. I took it and he pulled me out of bed. As I regained my balance, I pulled my hand away from his and lowered my head to avoid his direct gaze.

“Strip!” he commanded. I was stunned for a moment. Had I heard him right? “You just said you will do as I ask, no? I want you to strip!” he lowered his voice which became firm and deep. I hated my father for putting me in such a position. I inhaled deeply before reaching my fingers to the hem of my silk dress. Slowly grabbing the material, I pulled it upward; my bare thighs coming into view first.

Just like that, my red knicker came into view, then my flat stomach, my red bra and then lastly my collarbone which was almost popping out of my skin before the dress was completely off of me.

I felt completely exposed even though I still had my undergarments covering my nether regions. Before I could make sense of this situation, Lord Blade had closed the distance between us. His hand again came in contact with my neck, but this time, it glided down toward my collarbone. “Haven’t you been eating?” he asked. I kept quiet. I didn’t want to answer him. “Don’t make me repeat myself, Flora!”

This was the first time he addressed me by my first name. He was losing his patience. “I do not wish to answer this particular question, sir…” I sighed and took a step back in fear. “You’re underweight! Was it your good-for-nothing of a father who wasn’t feeding you? I knew he was up to no good!” he spat in such hatred that it sent a wave of panic over me. If I confess my father’s deeds, I will be in trouble. My father would certainly wish death upon me. I didn’t want that at all.

Tears stung my eyes but I forced them to not fall out. I cannot cry, not right now. “Did you at least eat properly right now?” he asked to which I answered gratefully, “Yes, sir. I’m full. Thank you for allowing me to eat as much as I could…”

I was truly grateful to this man for offering me food first and then letting me eat to my heart’s content. “A thank you won’t do it, Flora” his voice lowered even more. “W-what do you want in return?” I asked as a lump formed in my throat. “Your body” he replied with such ease…

My head shot up in surprise and fear. I took another step back but landed on the bed. His tall figure now leaned over me and I swallowed a big lump. “Would you offer me your body, Flora?” he almost whispered. I didn’t know what to do. But I did say I was willing to do whatever he asked me of. Even if I wanted to say ‘no’ to him, it wasn’t an option for me. I had to say ‘yes’ no matter what. “I will, sir” my voice came out barely as a whisper. He for sure heard that. Mages have sharp ears just like that of werewolves and demons. They were advanced.

Before I could look up to get Lord Blade’s reaction, he raised my head up with his fingers. “Are you sure? There's no going back from this” he had a straight face. I nodded and said, “Yes sir”. The hopes in his eyes increased and he started to lean in. Instinctively, I closed my eyes and waited for him to press his lips on mine, but it never happened. I was thankful.

He sighed and let go of my chin. I slowly opened my eyes to see Lord Blade running his hand through his shoulder length raven hair. “You can go back to your chamber. I will see you for dinner” he said and walked out of the room. Not wasting any more time, I grabbed my dress, wore it and went back to my room.

There, I laid on the bed and stared at the dark ceiling. As I awaited the sleep to take over me, my father’s voice rang out in my mind. “You better obey Lord Blade or I will be in trouble. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to see me get hurt, right?” he linked me.

Blocking out mind-links was the only thing I was decent at but not very advanced; hence, I blocked him out. I refused to talk to him. First, he sold me to this warlock and now, he has the audacity to contact me just to tell me to obey the Lord. I ignored him and focused on getting some sleep. No more tears dared to leave my eyes. I couldn’t cry anymore. I just closed my eyes and turned to face the window; waiting for sleep to finally take over me.

After finishing my dinner along with Lord Blade, I waited for him to leave first since it would be disrespectful for me to walk out before him. He got on his feet and as I expected him to walk away, he turned to look at me and said, "I would like for you to come see me in my room in an hour". I quickly got to my feet and vigourously nodded my head to indicate that I acknowledged his words. "Words!" his voice became sharp. "Yes, sir. I will be present in your room on time!" I replied and kept my head lowered.Lord Blade walked away as I sighed in relief. Making sure that he had walked away far enough for me to not catch up to him accidentally, I started for my own room. Once I was in my room, I asked Grace for help."Lord Blade expects me in his room in the next hour! What can I wear to look appealing?" I asked her."I've readied a few sets of clothes for you in the cupboard as per requested by Lord Blade himself. I suggest you pick out a silk nightgown or a pair of lingerie and cover i

The sunrays fell upon my face through the huge balcony window. Slowly turning to my side, I opened my eyes and sat up. I rubbed my eyes and looked around in the room. It was slightly lit up with the sunrays falling through the balcony. It was also a reminder of what my father had done. He gave me away to save himself and his business. The sadness crept into my heart, daring to bring tears to my eyes. I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes for a few moments before deciding to proceed with my day.Getting out of bed, I directly went into the bathroom. Drawing a warm bath, I stripped and submerged myself into the calm of warm water. The tension in my muscles relaxed as my mind slowly started to clear out. As much as I wanted to confront my father for such a low move, I was also afraid of his response. Ever since I was a child, my father didn’t bother to acknowledge me as his own. It was as if he had this personal grudge against me which I never understood. He would be very calm and composed

We toured the whole 3 storeys of the manor before stopping in front of the door which was at the end of the hallway where my room was. "And lastly, this is Lord Blade's study and this room opposite to it is the library!" Grace said."Can I have a look inside the library?" I asked Grace as excitement started to bubble up inside me. "I'm sorry, Miss. Harper; but Lord Blade does not allow anyone to enter the library..." all my excitement shattered at those very words. I gave her a sad smile as I nodded in understanding."Well then, I will go back to my room. Thank you so much for giving me a tour of the manor; I appreciate it!" Grace smiled at me and followed me to my room, making sure I had everything I needed."I need to help some of the staff in the kitchen since we're expecting guests tonight. If you need anything, you can ring me. There's a phone right on the bedside table with the numbers jotted down on a paper. Just call the kitchen and I'll be at your service!" Grace said and left

As soon as I entered my study, Caspian followed me inside. "Had you not interrupted, I would've extracted the truth from her!" my cousin almost yelled in anger. "And how did you plan on doing that?" I raised a brow and crossed my hands on my chest as I leaned against my desk."I would cross question her. They usually run in circles and then give up when there's no way out" he answered. I shook my head and sighed."That's not how it works. Trust me, I'm as curious as you are; but this is not the way to extract that information from her. She is a timid little girl who just reached her mid-twenties. We need to be patient""You are being a little too casual about her. She is just your mistress, Blade!""I'm not being casual, but rather careful. Just think, if I were to start suspecting her almost immediately? She would try to come up with lies. But honestly, she's a weak mage. So the more we act nice, the more she'll be vulnerable. It gives us time"Caspian seemed to understand as he slig

The sound of footsteps running around the whole manor woke up from my slumber. I had passed out on the floor from crying. I got onto my feet and started to fix myself when I heard the sound of footsteps running outside of my room.I quickly rushed to the door and pressed my ear against it. "Lord Blade, Sir Artemis and his guests have arrived" I heard a female voice. The name 'Artemis' made my heart freeze as my blood turned cold. It couldn't be the same person! I thought. "I will be down in a minute!" Lord Blade said. Then, I heard footsteps walking away; assuming it was the maid. I waited a little longer, hoping to hear Lord Blade's footsteps walking away. The wait wasn't long and soon, the other footsteps faded into the corridor.I finally heaved a sigh of relief. My mind flooded with all kind of thoughts; especially after the mention of that particular name. I despartely wished for my thoughts to be wrong. Suddenly, my stomach growled, making me aware of the fact that I did not hav

I was about to ask Caspian and Artemis to finish their conversation and join me and the other guests at the dining table when I suddenly saw Caspian rushing up the stairs in concern. I went after him and realised he was heading toward the corridor of my chamber—as well as Flora's."What the fuck are you doing here?!" Caspian's angry voice made me halt halfway through the corridor."I just..." as soon as I heard Artemis' voice, I forced my legs to move."What's happening?" I asked as soon as I entered Flora's room. Then my eyes landed on Flora who was crying as she was in her bed with her mouth gagged with a cloth, her robe was spread open and her lingerie visible. I forced my eyes away from her and looked at Artemis who was groaning in pain as he rolled on his side on the floor. A mix of emotions overtook me and I quickly strode toward the vulnurable girl.Covering her with the duvet, I pulled out the white cloth out of her mouth. Walking through the corridor on the ground floor, I opened a door at the very end which led to the basement where the dungeons were. I didn't care about the dinner where my guests were still waiting on me to join them. Instead I mind-linked Caspian and asked him to handle it for the night.I would take direct reports tomorrow morning; meaning, I will need to have the guests stay over for the night. No one in their right conscience would deny my orders and requests since I've created that fear within everyone to not go against my words.Clearing my mind, I went to the cell Artemis was in. My rage started to take over as soon as my eyes landed on his ugly face. Even though he didn't look a day over 40, he was nearing his mid-fifties. I've had my fair share of interactions with handsome men and Artemis could never compare to those. Had same gender sex not been looked down upon by our elders, I would've already presented them a male partner by my side. Better than wasting time on some chi

Princess Marina's request caught me off guard at first. She silently pleaded with her eyes and occassionally looked around to check for any third person witnessing the encounter. "Okay, how about we talk in my study?" I suggested. The princess approved of it and I signalled for her to follow me. Walking upstairs, I led the way to my study and opened the door for her to enter first. "Thank you so much for your time, Lord Blade!" the princess said as soon as I closed the door behind us. "Of course! What is it that you wanted to discuss with me?" I asked. Princess Marina inhaled slow and deep before speaking. "Well, I was linking with my parents back in Adriosana and I learnt something about..." she trailed off, leaving me curious. I urged her to speak as my brain started to run with multiple possibilities. It didn't take a genius to know this was about Flora. "Could you give me your word, that you won't speak to anyone about it? Especially not my husband!" She seemed a bit frant

What we all just witnessed was something unexpected and equally surprising. "Caspian, stay here with her, I'll have a look!" I said and rushed out of my room.Running downstairs, I almost bumped into Lenox. "Lord Blade, did you hear—""I did! Come with me!" I instructed Lenox and went out the back door of my manor.I looked around at first, trying to find anything, anything that could tell me what just went down. After finding nothing, I decided to have a look at the area where we all saw the blood covered bloke.Upon reaching the area, I and Lenox stepped into the woods, not deep though. But we weren't able to find anything. Not even a trace of the events we witnessed. "Blade! Anything there?" Caspian called out to me from my chamber's balcony. I turned to look up at him and shook my head. "Shall I join? We can cover more ground that way!" he suggested. "We'll do that later. For now we have the demon prince to worry about..." I linked him."Almost forgot about him. Well, come back

I followed Blade's gaze and then turned to look at him again. "Well, I'm glad you have something left of them. Do you read it often?" "Not very often but when I'm stressed or not in a great mood. Their journal entries are a good refreshers and tells me more about their love for each other. Or other things in general" he answered. "Must be nice to know more about them..." I murmured and sighed.Blade smiled small and said, "Yes, indeed. So do you plan on reading the book right now?"I hummed in response and glanced at the book. "I don't want to sleep...not yet" The warlock just shrugged and started walking toward the door. I followed him out as he turned around to lock the library again. We went back to his room and I decided to sit at his desk to read under the lamp. I didn't want Blade to sleep uncomfortably if I were to have lights turned on for me to read.I insisted Blade to just get some rest whilst I continued to read the book he picked out for me. All of a sudden, Blade's expression changed from that of semi-satisfaction to extreme confusion with a hint of surprise. "Is something wrong?" I asked."Your eyes...they're red!" he replied. I furrowed my brows in confusion and slightly tilted my head. "What do you—" I got cut off when I heard a low voice in my head. I couldn't make out what it said but it spooked me too much. The longer I stared at Blade, the more erratic my heartbeats got. I felt a pull toward him, something which felt extremely natural yet unnatural."Must be my imagination..." Blade said and exhaled. "My apologies for the false panic!" "No, that's fine. You must be tired...I mean, I've troubled you enough..." I trailed off and looked away. But the beating of my heart quickened up, my subconscious forcing me to look back at the warlock.Blade shook his head and replied with a simple "No" before cupping my face. "Whatever this is you're going through, it is very serious. It's not something you can dust off!" he s

Soft whimpers fell onto my ears which made me wake up. As I opened my eyes, my gaze fell onto the lass beside me. She was whimpering and shifting uncomfortably in her sleep. There was a deep crease between her eyebrows. A nightmare...I thought."Flora...Flora?" I called out to her and slightly gave her body a shake, hoping she'd wake up. But there was no positive response so I shook her a little more and called out to her again. This time, her eyes opened in a panic as she sat up and looked around. Taking in the surroundings, her eyes landed on me and a sigh left her mouth."Was it that bad?" I questioned. Flora nodded and buried her face in her hands.I slowly placed a hand on her back and gave her a gentle rub. "Would you like some water?" I asked."Yes" she mumbled. I quickly grabbed the glass bottle off of my bedside table and handed it to the distressed lass. She quickly took the bottle from my hand and took small sips until she was content. "Feeling any better?""A little, yes.

Amusement took over me when I saw Lord Blade smile at me. I never expected to ever witness him smile—let alone at me. His chuckle was even more deep and attractive which I found difficult to resist. So I did the first thing that came to my mind. I traced my fingers along his jaw as I placed a soft kiss to the tip of his nose. My heart flipped in my chest when I heard him chuckle.I pulled away when he went silent and looked into his light grey orbs. "I love your eyes..." I muttered.A light red tint spread across the warlock's face as he averted his gaze from me for a moment. "Thank you...I've never gotten that before so my apologies if I—""It's fine, really!" I said and laughed a little. My hand hovered over my mouth as I yawned small. Sleep was slowly starting to take over me."You should sleep now. It's getting late" the warlock said and placed the stray strands of my hair behind my ear. I nodded in agreement and tried to get off of his lap but I realised that his other hand was

I looked at Flora silently, waiting for her to change her mind, but she didn't. It seemed like she was ready to open up about her past. "Are you sure?" I asked."Yes, I am. It's about time you know about it..." she said."Then we can get in bed and talk. I want you to be comfortable" I pointed at the bed with my thumb.Flora nodded and joined me in bed. She pulled the duvet over her lap as she got comfortable on the soft mattress. "Where do I begin...?" she questioned—more like to herself."Whatever you're comfortable with. I wouldn't want you to go through another trip down the fucked up memory lane" I said. The lass looked up at me briefly before averting her gaze elsewhere. "It all started when I turned eight. My mother wouldn't be home almost all day and my father would be at work. My mother would drop me at school and from there, one of my peers' mother would take me to their home upon my mother's words..." she started and inhaled slowly."It's okay, take it slow" I assured her a

A low growl left my mouth when I heard the knock on my bedroom door. I had just been getting comfortable when that stupid knock ruined it all.Getting out of bed, I walked toward the door and opened it slightly to see who it was. To my surprise, it was Prince Luke standing at the door. "Your highness? How may I help you? Do you need anything?" I asked and opened the door a little wider so I can be in his view."My apologies Lord Blade, for showing up at such an hour but I wanted to mention something!" he said. "Could I come inside and talk?" he asked which made me freeze."Uhm..." I trailed off, unsure of how to reply. I turned around to glance at Flora who was now sitting upright in bed."Am I interrupting something?" Prince Luke asked. "N-no! Don't worry!" I immediately replied and stepped out of the room. "We can talk in my study!" I said and gestured toward the door to my right.Prince Luke nodded and said, "I also need to have a word with your mistress. So if you can ask her to

I was too terrified to go back to sleep alone in my room so I had to bring myself to ask Lord Blade if I could at least stay in his room for a little while. I wasn't expecting him to agree to do so easily. As I lied down on the soft mattress, I struggled to fall asleep again. Turning to face Lord Blade, his eyes met mine and held me captive. "Can't sleep?" he asked, his voice deep yet whispery."No..." was all I could mutter. I bit my lower lip, not wanting to work upon a newfound thought in my mind. The handsome warlock being in the same bed as me wasn't helping either.I almost gasped as soon as the warlock reached out to my face and brushed his thumb across my lips. Slowly and carefully, I moved a little closer to the warlock and saw his expression changing into something I couldn't read and make out.His hand slowly rested on my cheek, his thumb leaving my lips and starting to make circles on my face. I leaned into his touch as my eyes closed and a small smile rested on my lips.
