Naomi's POV

My eyes darted at him in fear; there was something intangible going on in this house, and I was keen to find out. It was very annoying that I didn't know what it was. The only thing that I didn't understand was the fact that the maid was afraid of him.

When I mean fear, I was talking about sheer horror. It crossed her eyes when she was talking about him, and I was also a bit scared because it didn't just make sense to me that she would not want to talk to me.

"I'll be in my room, Master." She replied and walked, more like rushed away.

Hus eyes raj over my figure in curiosity, which was strange considering the fact that I was used to being stared at lewdly.

"Why am I really here?" I inquired. The room was luxurious, completely different from what I was used to, and it made me feel a bit weird and unworthy. I mean, I would understand if he kept me in a dungeon.

"I'm living in a luxurious room, which is really strange," I continued.

He walked towards me like a predator, and I was a bit scared. What was he about to do to me? My legs moved a step backward, and he kept on approaching me.

"You have a problem with instructions. How the hell did Alex cope with you?" He  dipped his hands into his pocket and stopped just a few inches from me. We were practically sharing the same air, and I was thinking of the best way that I could send him away without sounding rude. His deep eyes bore into mine. There was no attraction beyond the physical.

"What do you have for me?" He asked me and I froze, shook my head to get rid of the thoughts that had taken residence.

"Do I dance for you?" I inquired. I was used to dancing so it would set the mood. I took a furtive glance at the room, there was a pillar in the middle. I could make it work.

I placed my hand on his shoulders and he shrugged it away, and I felt humiliated. "What? You don't want that?"

"Do something else. Impress me."

I am still racking my brains about what he was probably expecting from me. I didn't have any skills nor did I think that he would be this unresponsive. My eyes wandered to his crotch. He looked like he packed a decent organ. "Are you impotent?" I blurted. My hands flew to my mouth to stop the words from spilling. My mouth suddenly lost control in his presence.

"I'm sorry about that."

"What can you offer?" He replied and sat on my bed.

"Sex? What else did you buy me for?" I replied. He was confusing me and I didn't like it. We were supposed to get down to business. Realizing that my tone sounded harsh, I smiled and walked closer to him, knelt in front of him and reached for his crotch again, but he smacked my hands away.

"Sex is all you offer."

Now I was pissed. "If you don't want sex, you can simply say so. Acting like I'm trash or as if you didn't know what I was up to right from the start is very bad, and I won't be a party to that." I snapped.

His eyes flashed dangerously, but I didn't care because he was the one who pushed me to the wall. I mean, who does that?

"I think I need to teach you a lesson."

"There's nothing new under the sun. What can you possibly do to...?" I trailed off, I was going to set this man into a fit of rage which wouldn't be the best thing to do for myself. "I'm sorry about that, I'm not just used to conversing with my clients. I don't know what else I can offer you since you don't want sex." I apologized, making sure that my face remained contrite.

"I need you to..."

My stomach growled in hunger and his eyes darted to mine. " You haven't eaten. Emma." He called again and a few minutes later, Emma appeared in the doorway.

Now this was strange. Does this mean that she was at his beck and call? I had looked outside and didn't see her, but she was here already.

"Make sure she eats." He ordered and walked out of the room.

Emma nodded and went downstairs, only to return a few minutes later, with a steaming plate of pasta and chicken. It was sautéed with curry sauce.

This was mind-blowing. I guess there were a lot of things that I wasn't aware of, and it was overwhelming.

"Good to see that you are settling in nicely." Emma spoke as I dug into the meal. I hadn't bothered to thank her because she had expressly said that she didn't want to be spoken to. I guess that was their rule in the house.

"Yes, thank you. Please pardon my bad manners." I apologized and she waved it off. She didn't take offense to that, so I guess I was free from any issues.

I glanced at her and noticed her glazed eyes. "Are you a witch?" I blurted again and shook my head. I guess I was on a roll today.

Her head tilted slightly sideways, and she began to laugh. "I see why he bought you."

"Why did he buy me? Me? Are there many that he bought?" I replied, trying to get the layout and blueprint of this place.

"That's not my place to answer."

I almost tore my hair out because of her answer. She was not ready to tell me anything. She suddenly stiffened and I looked at the doorway. Behold, the man of the hour had arrived.

This time, he was in a white tee-shirt and smelt heavenly. I guess he had just freshly showered.

"Are you done with your meal?"

"Yes?"

"It's time."

He stopped in front of me and tipped my head upward with a light finger and, for the first time, I felt a bolt of electricity run through my arms. I was feeling a certain way, but I couldn't move an inch. It was almost as though I was hypnotized staring into his deep green eyes."Time to get what I want." He said, while his eyes darted toward the clock in my room. I was a bit taken aback by his reluctance to get down with me. It was almost as though he was making an effort to converse with me. As a good judge of character, I deduced that talking to me was taking a toll on him and that he was going to snap very soon. I was pushed to speak more just to see how he would react. It would be good to see him maybe get angry or stuff like that. I touched his shoulders and ran my hands seductively down his chest but this time, thankfully, he didn't

Lucian's POVOne word came to mind as I drank from her neck. Delicious! How was I supposed to cope when all I could think of was draining this source. It was believably the best kind of blood I had tasted, and I continued drinking.Sweet, this was more than enough."You're going to kill her." I heard Travis' voice filtering in from the doorway."Get out." I groaned and continued feasting on the punctured neck, sighing softly as I enjoyed the way it trickled down my throat, cooling my insides and quenching my thirst. Where had she been all this while? It was a good thing to trust my instincts.A wood was slammed against my head and I groaned angrily. "What the fuck, Travis?!"He shivered and quickly threw the plank on the ground while watching me. "You're not supposed to kill her. She's dying." He pointed at the stripper."Get out, and don't make me repeat it." I warned him. If he didn't do that, he would regret the day he was born."I'm sorry, I didn't know that you planned on killing

My eyes landed on the white walls, which baffled me because I remembered where I was the previous... day? Or... 'Where am I?' I wondered and turned. My eyes made contact with my master and I jumped in fear. "How are you doing?" He inquired while looking up from his laptop just for a minute. "I'm not good. I feel woozy," I replied. He doesn't say anything, at least for the moment as I try to gather myself. I felt so weak to the bone, almost as if I was a pile of dirty clothes crumpled to the ground. It was exhausting. I felt a stinging sensation in my neck and I touched it. My hands came in contact with a material, probably a bandage. "What happened to me? Did I get into an accident?" I stared at him wide-eyed. "Why aren't you answering me? What happened to me?""Save your questions for those who need it. What else are you feeling?" He asked me and my mouth fell open at the audaci

Lucian's POVI was already restless from her blood and I wanted more. It took a lot for me not to drain her because I knew that she'd die. She was barely able to survive from the first drain. How would she survive the second bout? She was talkative, and it was very annoying to me because it made me feel like a jerk, which was a weird feeling for me. She had a problem with comprehension. She hadn't reacted the way I had expected, and I was a bit impressed. She wanted to know about my kind, to know whether we were going to drain her. Well, she was wrong about that because she was my pet, and I wasn't letting her go.Her blood was pure and sweet and could get addictive. I wanted all of it, to the last drop. I should have bled her in a bag instead of consuming it all at once.I would need it in the next three days, and I was sure that I would get it."You're smiling." She muttered and I stared at her in annoyance. If only she knew my thoughts, she would run for her life. I was tired of te

Naomi's POVMy eyes fluttered open when I smelt the distinctive smell of my captor or buyer. I think the befitting title was buyer because there was a way he was acting that made me feel very anxious. If I wasn't scared of him before, seeing the amount of people he had in this disgusting area made me change my mind. He was very wicked, if I did say so myself. I would rather have nothing to do than remain in this godforsaken hellhole. He took long strides toward me while I managed not to expel my intestines. "I see that you have become calmer. I know that it's not always easy seeing what you know right now. How do you feel?" He inquired, but I felt like bashing his face against a wall and redesigning everything that I knew about him. That was if I had the strength. I don't want to have to see this man anymore. After draining me, he took me to a slaughterhouse slash dumping site. The smell emanating from each cell was enough to cause me to puke out my intestine.Did anyone know that he

Naomi's POVThe next thing I heard was the sound that was becoming very familiar after being in there for too long. The sound of the monitors beeping loudly and all I could do was to just relax and stop moving. Having been in a state where one's life and everything about one wasn't intact, the best thing that one could do for him or herself was to just take life as it came."She's not responding to treatment." I heard an unfamiliar voice say. I was tempted to mutter that I was awake and could hear them, but I decided against it because it was better that way for me than to tell him that I was alive. He might want to bleed me more. The funny thing was that I wondered why they didn't know. The heart monitor should have been normalized by now unless there was something wrong that I wasn't aware of or something else that's stopping me from actually being awake. "I need to feed. I don't care if she's awake or not. It's even preferable that she's under the meds because that bitch is a piec

She was the most stressful person I have had to tame and, if truth be told, she was just here for a few days and was already turning things around. While I was lenient enough, Travis felt like something was wrong with me. I saw it in his gaze, but he didn't have the guts to challenge me about it. They would perish.I stalked toward her. Challenging people was my favorite pastime. The only difference between us was that I was on top of the food chain while she was at the bottom, which she failed to realize. Her heart was beating fast as I approached, but she kept staring ahead, not breaking eye contact with the wall. When I reached her bed, I took her chin in my palm and stared at her with a smirk on my face. I hoped that she was ready for whatever was coming already because it was going to be a bit stressful and I wouldn't take long to make my intentions known to her. • Sold To The Cruel Vampire King   Chapter One Hundred And Seventy Three

Lucian's PovYears had elapsed since Deluna’s fall, and despite the wounds of war, the world had begun healing. What once had been a country full of tyranny and fright lived with hope in its heart. Vampires, living under Deluna’s tyranny, were free at long, long last. And I, with Naomi, had sworn ourselves to seeing freedom stretch to each and every soul yet living in shackles. We fought together, forging alliances, destroying whatever of Deluna’s corrupt empire lay in its path, and providing refuge and protection to souls that lived for too long in misery and agony. And yet, even with all that we accomplished, the greatest transformation hadn’t been in the world at all—it had been in me. Naomi tamed my rougher corners, taught me in virtue of love, in hope, and most of all, in the fact that redemption existed. And I, seeing her sit out on our balcony, in sunlight and in gold, bathing in sunlight, I saw that my greatest purpose no longer lay in commanding a people, but in protectin

Naomi’s PovThe battlefield hung in a dead, matted quiet. Once, with a reek of death and sorcery, but now with a mere whisper of wind, it breathed. The sky, which was shrouded in Deluna’s shadow, seemed lighter.I turned and looked around us, and saw the faces of my companions who fought with us. Some I recognized, scarred in battle, with looks of both loss and relief etched onto them. Others… Others were not with me.Travis.Alexander.Bane.They'd gone, some dead, and gone, whose fate I could not say. But one reality I could not deny is that those who fought with Deluna, who fought to maintain Deluna’s tyranny, died with her. Some of them, perhaps, still lay in shadows, but if ever again… They'd have to answer to us.I breathed out, a slow, deep one.Lucian, noting my hesitation, stroked my hair behind my ear, out of my face. His fingers were rough but kind, a reminder of battles won, of wars won, and of love won in choosing him."We did it," he whispered, eyes bloodshot and intent

Lucian's PovThe seconds ticked in slow motion as I saw Naomi’s delicate form move towards me. The whole scenario seemed dreamlike, a nightmare I couldn’t awaken from. And then, in a matter of a split second, her form collapsed onto the ground. Everything else melted, my eyes refocusing onto Naomi's dying form at my feet. My heart thudded savagely in my chest, a thudding beat drowning out everything else. "No… Naomi…" I faltered, dropping onto my knees at her side, my shaking hands extending out towards her. “No, no, no. This can't happen.” I touched her face, and her face was dispiritedly cool to my fingertips. Something deep and suffocating took over, its talons closing in my heart. Her eyes shut, her mouth a little apart, but no sign of life moved in them. My voice died in my mouth, taken over with horror. "How far are you willing to go, Deluna?"A faint echo of laughter sounded over my head, Deluna’s mocking laughter, sharp and cutting and rough-edged, like broken glass. How

Naomi’s PovThe battlefield lay covered in shadow, thick with smoke, burning wood, blood, and residues of lingering magic. Under my feet, the earth shuddered minutely, unsure whether this war had actually reached its conclusion. Deluna was a distance of a few feet, her black cloak fluttering a little in the evening breeze, her eyes squinted in observation of me. She yet seemed powerful, untouched by events transpired about her. But I could detect it now, the tiniest tremble of doubt in her eyes. She was starting to understand. Understand that she wasn't as unscathed as she long convinced herself to believe. I breathed in, slow and deliberate, then moved to speak. "What request?" Deluna questioned me, with a taint of distrust in her voice. I jerked my head, raising my chin a notch. "What way would you like to breathe your last?" Her mouth twisted in a cold sneer, but I could detect tension in her shoulder. "You can't do that," she taunted me. I took a pace in her direction. "I

Lucian’s PovI'd long been convinced wickedness took a face and one I'd seen in both monsters and in men, too. But tonight, with dusk consumed and sunset gone, I saw an atrocity that challenged my definitions of wickedness and forced me to redefine them. I'd seen evil I could hardly have dreamed in my most fevered imagination. The sky wasn't at its radiant best, but one contrast alone remained: one silver glow of the moon painted everything with an eerie, dark radiance, and I could almost feel its vigor. I kept moving onward, a burning fury in my heart burning brighter with each pace I took. "Your face, moon," I whispered in a snarl of anger, "tonight, your face bore witness to my friend’s murder." Travis’s dying memories looped in my head forever: laughter, soft comforts, and a shocked cry of betrayal that took him from me. I hadn't seen him coming.Travis, a man who firmly insisted wicked souls bore a glimmer of virtue, lay dead, robbed of life at our hands through a wickedness I co

The taste of blood and regret was in my mouth, and I could barely breathe. The silence after the fight was louder than all the noise before.I staggered back, my limbs trembling as I tried to steady myself against a shattered column. Every heartbeat throbbed in my ears, a cruel metronome marking the passing of a moment I could never undo. The pain consumed me deeply; it was as though the very essence of my soul was being torn apart. I felt as if I might die from the weight of my own remorse. For a long while, I recalled our fight. Travis, even in his final moments, had pressed me with questions that now haunted my every thought. His eyes, full of anguish and bitter disappointment, burned into me as though searing my skin. And now, that promise lay shattered like glass on cold stone.Lucian looked into my eyes, and for a moment, the anger in his gaze shifted to sadness. "Naomi," he said softly, "we can't bring him back, but we can make sure his sacrifice wasn't wasted." His words felt like both a blessing and a burden. A reminder that this war's cost was counted in blood and lost love. The thought of Deluna, the traitorous witch who caused Travis’s death made me burn with a need for revenge. "Where is she, Lucian?" I could barely remember the morning, only broken memories of the night before the screams, the clash of steel, and the grief still twisting in my chest."Travis...?" I whispered, my voice breaking. My mind spun with disbelief. Travis Scott, my dearest friend, the one who had always been there to watch my back, to make me laugh even in our darkest moments, was gone. Gone, as if snatched away by some cruel fate. And all because of this cursed war and the betrayal that has splintered our lives. My heart thundered as I took in the chaos. The hall transformed into a nightmarish tableau: broken bodies strewn across the flagstones, heads severed, and crimson pools of blood pooling around fallen soldiers.“Has she forgotten who she’s dealing with?” I spat internally, anger coiling inside.
