CHAPTER EIGHT: LUCY

WRITER'S POV

King Rodriguez walked out of the hall with only one thought in his mind as he walked to the side of the palace where he loved to stay, to meet his queen Lucy.

He had always wondered why she was always calm and collected more than the other queens and ladies he had met as well, she never bothered to engage in an argument with any of the queens who would eagerly do so anytime, the other queens where a headache, and yet he loved how she shows them their place when necessary. She is calm and calculative and kind but not naive.

He could only smile as he remembered their first meeting, she wasn't a spoiled princess at all nor was she loose.

Other ladies that were present at that ball drooled at him and some shamelessly threw themselves at him but she was unaffected by his looks even as she complimented him she still acted maturely even though she was 20 then yet she acts wisely up till now, she is his and specially made for him alone.

EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO

A young handsome man with jet black hair and black eyes walked out of his luxurious carriage with his men right behind him as he swept the golden helm of his royal cloak across the marble floor of a huge elegant palace of greystone Kingdom elegantly.

KING RODRIGUEZ POV

Walking into the palace the workers bowed and a soldier directed me to the ball ground, the door was closed which the maids open upon my arrival and my presence was announced walking in all eyes were on me filled with different type of emotions, awe, fear, lust and many wishful thinkings from the women which only bore me I had come here for business, I saw the king who was with his wife and son I walked over to them instead of waiting for him to come over because those ladies won't stop feeding their eyes which was not enough as they bumped into me and tried to caress me and I regret not bringing Monica along so that she would help restrain them as she didn't want any lady around me.

“Good evening king Owen and to you queen Juliet how have you been” i said with slight smile on my lips “greetings to you King Rodriguez I am happy that you graced here with your presence” king Owen said with admiration in his eyes “let's drop the formalities Owen what is it you wish from me” I asked

“king Rodriguez I need you to help me win the war against the dark tribe they are attacking our people suddenly” he said and I wonder why witches are attacking them their queen seems to be peaceful “and what do you have to offer to me in return” I asked “ I will give you my daughter” he blurt out.

what does he take me for I've had enough headache marrying those two and he wants to add one more as well “and why do you think I need a woman” “she is unique your majesty you will love her” he is actually selling his daughter not knowing if that's what she wants, just then I felt a strong bond as a scent waft through my nose and I turned to find where it was coming from only to see a beautiful girl with blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair walking towards me she glanced at me once and looked away which actually surprised me it's rare to see a human lady comport themselves before me “greetings to you your majesty, greetings to you father and mother” she said and that was when I realised she might be the daughter he is talking about “king Rodriguez this is Lucy my daughter I hope you get to know each other and hopefully you consider my request” he said with hope “I will accept it if she agrees to it I don't force people to do my bidding” I said and I realised that I've subconciously accepted to marry her “father had discussed it with me and we agreed that I will get to know you first then I will marry you” she said filled with determination to save her people “then we shall discuss in a quiet place princess” I said with a small smile on my face and I couldn't miss the skeptical look on her face “I don't like to chat in a noisy place Lucy, you don't have to worry am not that way I keep my hands to myself” I said assuring her and I noticed how she relaxed but still cautious as we walked to the garden a bit far from the ballroom “why would you agree to marry me so easily” I asked “because my people are dying for what they know nothing about, father said they are witches and only you among other kings could he run to for help and I will do anything for my people” she said looking at the stars while I stared at her and the bond was becoming stronger, I realized that she is the one for me but why didn't I meet her earlier at least even if I won't get the throne I won't mind. Her eyes left the stars and turned to look at me I couldn't help but drown in those beautiful blue eyes and I'm sure she felt the bond too as she couldn't look away so easily but she coughed and regained her composure “your majesty will you consider helping us” she asked hopefully “I will for your sake if not for anything else, and if you don't want to marry me I will still offer my help and you should call me by my name” I said truthfully and that made her look at me again surprised but she smiled “it's fine i will marry you” she said firmly and I wasn't sure whether she had fallen in love with me or just because she is grateful “if you say so Lucy.
