Sienna
I managed to make my way through the school day without thinking of Cole at all. Ok, that's a lie, but I managed to make it through school on only a few hours of sleep. I sat with my friends at lunch and tried to concentrate on what they said, but I couldn't. All I could think of was Cole and the kiss he gave me before I left. Get a grip,Sienna. You won't see him again. I sighed and tried harder to pay attention to my friends the only one that was even looking at me was Bella, and I smiled to let her know I was ok. The rest of the day passed quickly, and before I knew it, I was driving Bella home, telling her I would phone her later before I headed home.
I pulled up to the iron gates outside my house, punched in the code, and waited for the gates to swing open. I drove up and parked in the garage. I walked in through the kitchen and could hear my brother's voices along with some of their colleagues. My brothers were in the mafia, as was my father before he died. I grew up not knowing until someone at school was badmouthing my family and told me everything, including my parent's car accident, not being an accident in the first place. I remember crying my eyes out to Bella, who took me to her house, where her mother answered my questions and told me I could always go to her with anything. I never told my brothers what happened at school and pretended I had no clue until they told me everything last year when someone made threats against me. I'm still not sure of the exact details as I didn't want to know, but Luca has been more overprotective since then. Luca was the oldest at twenty-five who took responsibility for all of us as soon as he turned eighteen. I never understood how Luca could get custody of us, but I'm guessing it wasn't legal, knowing what I know now. Matteo, or Matt as he's better known, is next in line at twenty-two. He's a lot more laid back than Luca but still as protective, and he's the one I go to if I need to talk as he listens and doesn't jump to anger as quick as Luca. My sister Bianca is twenty-one, with her and Matteo being Irish twins as there are only eleven months between them. Bianca and I used to be close when we were kids, but as we grew up, we drifted apart, made worse when her sleazeball boyfriend made a pass at me and when I told her she believed him when he said that I misunderstood him and she accused me of being jealous of her. My sister is beautiful, although a bit of an airhead. She is still with her boyfriend, sleazy Steve, as I call him, but I happen to know for a fact that when he's not here, she usually has one of my brother's friends in her bed and always a different one.
"Where have you been."
"School," I deadpanned, turning to face a fuming Luca.
"Where did you stay last night. I'm sure Bella was lying this morning."
"I stayed at Bella's but was up most of the night studying and nearly slept in for school." I reached up and kissed his cheek, walking past him, trying not to look at Matt because, unlike Luca, he can read me like a book.
"Heads up, sleazy Steve is here with Bianca," Matteo whispered as I walked past him up to my room.
I finished my homework and called Bella, who was bored at home as her parents were at work, so she said she would come to stay at mine and would be over in time for dinner. I waited until I heard the doorbell before I ventured down the stairs, and matt and Bella were chatting in the living room when I got there.
"Chinese," I asked, looking at the bags in her hands.
"Yeah, I got plenty, Matt, if you're hungry."
"No, you two go ahead."
We quickly grasped plates, then went into the media room and lounged about watching the new series of Brooklyn 99 before we went to bed. We slept in for school, which isn't unusual for us. Luckily I remembered to pack my gym bag for my boxing lesson after school.
School dragged on, and I was so happy when I finished school. I drove Bella home before I went to the gym.
I changed into my workout clothes in the changing room before entering the boxing gym, and I started stretching while I waited on Dean. Although a bit full of himself, Dean was a good teacher, you know, the type that thinks he's God's gift to women. I've honestly never seen the man wear a top, but he's harmless enough.
Someone cleared their throat behind me, and when I turned, my mouth fell open. I was expecting Dean, but instead, Cole was standing in front of me looking like a fucking model.
We stared at each other for what seemed like forever before I managed to find my voice. "Cole, what are you doing here?"
"I own the gym," he told me with a slight blush as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I um may have found out when you were coming in and told Dean to take the afternoon off."
I nodded as I bit the inside of my mouth so hard I could taste blood to stop smiling like a damn fool. I was determined to play it cool, even though I felt anything but relaxed.
"I'm fully trained." He continued. "Should we start" he walked to the ring and jumped in before holding the rope up for me to climb in.
We sparred for the entire hour, both of us sweating when we finished.
"You're pretty good," he said as we climbed out of the ring.
"Would have been better if you weren't going easy on me," I told him with a pointed look as he smirked at me.
"I wasn't sure how much training you had."
"I've been training since I was eight, and Dean is a great trainer."
"He's a bit cocky."
"True, but he doesn't hold back, so you work harder." I turned to walk to the changing room.
"Steak," Cole blurted out, then shook his head and took a breath as I turned to look at him. "I mean, do you like steak."
"I do"
"Do you remember how to get to the cabin?" He asked.
"I do"
"Would you like to come for dinner if you don't have anything else on?"
"I would like that, Cole."
"Ok, I'll meet you at the cabin." He walked out while I went into the changing room. I decided to shower there, then I got dressed and immediately wished I had packed something nicer. I had put on black ripped jeans with flat ballet slippers and a black fitted shirt. I look like I'm going to a funeral. I thought as I gazed at myself, but it was either this or my school uniform. Once I was in the car, I texted Bella.
Me: Cover for me. I will explain tomorrow.
She replied almost immediately.
Bella: I expect full details tomorrow.
I rolled my eyes as I put my phone away as I started towards the cabin. I was nervous and excited. Cole must feel the same as me, after all. He went out of his way to find me and to spar with me instead of Dean, then he asked me for dinner. I had butterflies in my belly the size of elephants as I drove to the cabin. Luckily the almost two-hour car ride gave me plenty of time to calm down. I was surprised how easily I found the place again, but I pulled up in no time at all. Cole must have been here as there was a light on. I knocked on the door, and it was opened straight away as if he was standing about waiting on me.
"Come in" he smiled brightly as he ushered me in, helping me take my jacket off.
I walked into the kitchen and was surprised to see he had a lot of pans on the go.
"How do you like your steak cooked."
"Well done," I told him, laughter escaping me as he shook his head and mumbled something about it being a waste.
I sat and watched him cook, and I shouldn't have been surprised, considering I barely knew the man, but I was. "Who taught you to cook?"
He smiled over at me. "My mother, she spent ages teaching my brother and me. She loves to cook and used to get so happy when we would help her." He laughed at the memory. "Can you cook?"
"Not really. I am a dab hand with a takeout menu, though. Bella's mum has started teaching us things lately because she's under the impression we may starve once we go to college."
"What about your brothers or sister? Don't they cook?"
"No, if I hear the smoke alarm, I know dinner is ready." I smile. "We have a meal service that brings food, and all we need to do is heat it.
He gave me a can of coke from the fridge and himself a beer. We made idle chit-chat as I watched him cook before sitting at the table and eating our dinner. He was so easy to talk to and funny, and I spent most of the time laughing.
After dinner, I cleared the table and did the dishes against his objections after explaining that the cook doesn't clean up. So instead, he drank a beer and leaned against the counter, watching me. I could feel his eyes on me the whole time as I fought to keep my gaze away from him as the butterflies were now back full force under his lustful gaze. After the kitchen was back to spotless, I could no longer keep my gaze away from Cole, who was still watching me, although his ice blue eyes had darkened considerably.
"So, what do we do now?" I asked, biting my lip as now the palpable tension in the room was set to overwhelm me.
He slowly put his beer down and was in front of me in seconds. "I have a few ideas."
Cole"What should we do now." She asked, biting her lip.I sat down my beer, and in two strides, I was in front of her. "I have a few ideas," I told her before cupping her face and tilting her mouth up to meet mine. The taste of peppercorn from the sauce she had with her steak lingers on her lips, and when I deepen this kiss, she moans in my mouth. As our tongues dance, my cock hardens, ready to finally claim her. Her arms wind around my neck, pulling me closer. I slowly pull away, and her eyes open, and I can see the desire in her eyes."You should tell me to stop," I tell her, taking a deep breath as I know if she doesn't say the words, I won't stop until she's mine."And what if I don't want you to stop." She tells me as she pulls my head back down to her claiming my lips.
SiennaMy head was still spinning, going over everything that happened last night. It was the perfect night, and I still couldn't believe that it had happened. I thought I wouldn't see him again after that first night when he kissed me goodbye, yet he went to all the trouble to find me and made me a fantastic dinner. When I opened the door and saw his brother Jace standing there, I didn't know what to do, so I just stood like an idiot while he looked me up and down like a rack of lamb. I felt relieved when Cole rushed to my side, and he assured me that Jace was annoyed with him and not with me, but I still felt unsure as something about the whole situation was unsettling. I pulled into the school parking lot and spotted my friends near the front door. As I made my way towards them, Bella spotted me and rushed over."Where were you last night?" She asked with a huge grin.
ColeAs soon as I walked back into the cabin, I knew my brother was spoiling for a fight. "So that's why you took off yesterday and turned your phone off. Not to mention showing up at the gym, Tyler told me all about it. You have businesses to take care of in case you've forgotten.""I haven't forgotten. I am on top of everything, and I'm sure you can take care of any emergencies, but if you think you aren't up to it, let me know, and I'll have Ryder take over for you," I warned."I can handle it. That's not the fucking point, Cole. You turned your phone off, and you do remember we were attacked a couple of days ago." He snapped at me. "We still don't know who was behind the attack.""I get it, Jace. I'll keep my phone on. Happy now?"
Sienna"Sienna, wake up," Cole murmured from beside me as he kissed my neck.I opened my eyes, and my breath caught in my throat; every time I see him, I'm taken back by how beautiful he looks, and although I doubt he'd like to be called beautiful, I couldn't think of another way to describe him."What time is it?" I mumbled into my pillow."It's early. Something has come up, and I have to leave. I didn't want you to wake up alone.""Haven't you heard of leaving a note?" He grinned at me as I sat up. "Sorry next time, I'll leave a note," he laughed. "You don't need to get up, and you can stay here until it's time for school. I only woke you so you wouldn't wonder what happened when you awoke alone."
ColeI was annoyed when Ryder had phoned me and asked me to meet him straight away as he had found something out. I hated waking Sienna up so early when she looked so peaceful, not that she minded she was happy enough to meet Bella for breakfast.I drove home and could hear Jace and Ryder talking in my office."What's up?""The guy I went to meet Craig didn't have a lot of information. All he knew for sure was that the hit was for payback for DeCosta, but he didn't know why." Ryder didn't waste any time telling me what he had found out."Do we trust him? I spoke to DeCosta, and he said he had no clue about the hit.""I was very thorough." I saw then that his knuckles were cut and bruised, and he had blood on
Sienna"Well, we'll well look who's finally remembered she has a best friend." "Haha, I saw you yesterday." I laughed as I flipped down on the bed beside Bella."Yeah, you ran in asked how the rest of my birthday party was, then you showered, changed, and ran back out the door back to the mystery cabin." She laughed. "I saw cash yesterday, and he mentioned Blake tried to kiss you, and some scary-looking guy scared him off.""Cole isn't scary looking. He's so hot," I told her, gushing. "I thought that maybe you two could meet after graduation.""I'd love to meet him, Sienna. Have you spoken to him about it?""Not yet, but I can't see it being a problem.""Are you goi
ColeWhen Sienna walked in the door to the cabin last night, I was happy to see her until I saw her face. I had this feeling that I wanted to hurt or kill whoever had put that look on her face, and quite honestly, it scared me as I had never felt that for another person that wasn't Jace or Natalia. As I sat and listened to her story about Steve putting his hands on her, I wanted to kill him more than I had ever wanted to hurt anyone in my life. If I thought for one second, she would tell me where to find him. I would get my gun and see him. I was also very proud that she broke his nose and kicked him in the balls. I gave her her graduation present, and the smile on her face was worth every agonizing second of panic I had about the inscription. I loved this girl, and it was scary because I knew it was fast, but I also didn't know how she felt, and I was terrified that she w
Chapter 11SiennaWhen I went to stand with my brothers and locked eyes with Cole, I was so happy to see him until I saw how shocked both he and Jace looked. Then when my brother told me they were acquaintances, I couldn’t think straight. The only thing I could focus on was Bella’s arm in mine as she steadied me. Then to make matters worse, Bianca waltzed in and announced to everyone that she had slept with Cole. I had wanted to punch my sister in the face many times in my life but never more than right at that moment; in fact, I think if I hit her once, I wouldn’t be able to stop. The icing on the cake was when Steve walked in drunk, making a scene. Cole jerked forward as if he was going after him, and I knew when he saw the broken nose that he had put two and two together. I didn’t even think it was as if I was on autopilot, stepping in front of C
ColeI was still climbing the walls when Jace returned and filled me in on his meeting with Luca and Matteo, and even more so when he told me that Sienna had been followed by someone other than Ryder. I felt sick when he told me that Bella had brazenly walked up to the guy with a coffee and told him she knew he was following them. Anything could have happened to her. She then went up to Ryder and asked him if he had even noticed the other guy, which he assured me he did.Luca told Jace that he and Matteo were sure they had taken care of the guys behind the hit on Sienna. Perhaps the hit wasn't just about getting revenge on them. Still, as the months passed and nothing else had happened, he put it to the back of his mind but now, with what happened to me or at least what they think happened to me, Luca agreed to look into it again for Sienna's sake more than anything as he knew she was hurting. He also wanted to make sure she was out of danger. Still, Luca always thought our presence a
SiennaI felt emotionally exhausted, like I could sleep for a month, and it still wouldn't be enough. On the other hand, my brain wouldn't stop running in circles. Bella and I had done nothing but lay in her bed in silence since Jace had left after deciding we would go back to my house tonight. Jace hadn't been gone long when we heard banging at the front door. We both jumped from the bed, and like with Jace, I grabbed the baseball bat, and Bella grabbed her phone, both of us freezing when the front door opened and someone started walking up the stairs."How easy is your house to break into?" I hissed to Bella."I don't know; no one has broken in before tonight," she hissed back to me."Sienna, Bella, it's Ryder. Can I come in?"We both breathed a sigh of relief as Bella opened the bedroom door. "What the fuck are you doing? I have a doorbell,""I didn't want to scare you," he replied with a shrug."Then don't break into someone's house, you moron. You ring the doorbell and wait to be
Cole"How was she?" I asked Jace as soon as he walked back through the door to the cabin.Jace motioned for me to move out of the doorway and let him in. I sighed as I watched him slowly peel his jacket off and hang it up before sitting on the couch. I knew he was purposefully taking his time to annoy me, knowing I was as wound as a coiled spring. "She's fine now that she knows you're alive. She thinks Luca and Matteo may be behind this, and she tried to batter me with a baseball bat. I told her that you would phone her. I think she will be much better when she hears your voice. I also told her that you wouldn't be able to see her for a while." he told me as he threw his phone at me. He stood from the couch, placing his hand on my shoulder. "I'll give you some privacy.” I waited until Jace had left the room and closed the door before I phoned Sienna. I was desperate to hear her voice, but truth be told, I was scared to listen to the grief and suffering that she had been through, thin
SiennaI crumpled to the floor with Bella's arms around me when I heard the news broadcast that Cole was dead. I could hear my family talking around me, but I couldn't make myself understand. Cole's car had been found. Someone had run him off the road, and the fuel tank had ignited, and there was no way anyone inside had survived. They were saying he was dead. Cole's dead. No, that couldn't be true. I had just seen him last night, and we were meeting tonight. I was going to the cabin tonight to see him."Sienna, look at me." Bella snapped as she held my face in her hands, and I realized that this must not have been the first time she tried to get my attention. I focused on her tear-streaked face as she asked me if she could help me up. "Who" I mumbled as she shook her head and held me close. I was dimly aware of my three siblings
Cole As soon as I dropped Sienna off at her house, I immediately wanted to drag her back out again. I knew that there was no way Luca would sit back and keep his mouth shut now that Sienna was safe and he didn't need me to look after her anymore. I also knew there was nothing he could do to stop it, but I didn't want him giving Sienna a hard time about it, even if she was adamant that she could handle Luca. The past few days with her were amazing if we just ignored why we were hiding. We were getting closer and closer. It was almost like we were back in our own wee bubble like it was when we were at the cabin when we first met before we found out about each other, and even with Bella and Jace hanging around, I loved it."How was the big romantic dinner last night," Jace asked from his spot on the sofa as soon as I walked in the door.
SiennaThe past few days had been hard on all of us being cooped up in Jace's apartment. On the one hand, lying on the couch ordering takeout with Bella and Jace watching Grey's anatomy wasn't considered a hardship, but on the other hand, I was starting to get cabin fever, and Cole couldn't sit still. He was agitated, almost pacing around the place, constantly bringing me food and drinks, and I was going to slap him if he asked me if I was okay one more time. I told him to go out and get some air and take care of his business before I killed him. "Thank god you told him to leave", Jace commented seconds after Cole got on the elevator. "He was starting to get on my nerves with the fidgeting.""Me too," Bella laughed with him as she watched the telly. "I was going to slip some Valium in his coffee to give us a break."
ColeI promised Sienna I'd try harder with Luca, and I would because I know that we have the same end game, and that's to keep Sienna safe, but by fuck it wasn't going to be easy. He was pushing my buttons, throwing his weight around as if I was just going to stand back and let him walk in here and take Sienna away from me to god knows where, as if this wasn't his fault, to begin with. Acting like this was somehow my fault instead. After Sienna was dressed, we walked back out, and I quickly saw that Luca wasn't any calmer and was still insisting that Sienna and Bella leave with him as he wasn't happy about them being in the middle of nowhere if anything happened. He had spoken to Bianca and made her promise not to tell anyone, not even Steve, about Sienna and me, but he wasn't sure if she had already blabbed to anyone once she had worked out why Steve was attacked. Luca sa
Sienna"I need to talk to my sister alone."I looked at Luca, and I knew this was coming, and I was surprised at how calm he was. "Follow me," I said as I stood up and walked through to the bedroom, closing the door behind us."How are you doing?" He asked as he gently pulled me into his arms."I've been better," I told him honestly as I returned his hug."Why didn't you tell me any of this. We used to be so close." Luca looked sad."I didn't think the shooting had anything to do with me. I thought it was a case of wrong place, wrong time, and I didn't want you to go overboard again. I didn't know who Cole was, but I liked him, and I thought if he knew who I was, he might not be interested, so I didn't tell
ColeThis month has been the longest month ever without Sienna. We've texted all the time and have spoken every night, except for the night Natalia opened her big mouth and told her about Bianca's visit to my office. She was so angry that I hadn't told her, and I think it stemmed from jealousy, but once I explained that I had planned to tell her everything once she was back from her holiday, she calmed down. She sent lots of photos, and it looked like she was having a great time, but she was back tonight, and I couldn't wait to see her tomorrow. She phoned me earlier tonight to let me know she was home safely and told me what Bianca had said, and I honestly thought that killing Steve was my best bet because there was no way he would be in her house. Sienna somehow managed to calm me down, which I was still unsure about because no one could calm me as she could. I had a meeting in the afternoon with her brothers ab
