It has been over an hour since Anna called me to inform me that she has left her house, but she is yet to arrive. I walked around the hall, exchanging pleasantries with those who I knew. I used this opportunity to bond with Lucas, telling him about who they were.

Lucas would be my heir. Though he is not interested in learning anything about the company or how it is run, I do not mind. What matters now to me is that he and I have a good relationship. Then we can work together.

Thinking about the times we would spend together in the company and having him give suggestions at the board meeting brought a smile to my lips.

Though I was happy that Lucas was by my side, I wasn't happy about Nora, who kept sticking close. I wanted to push her away and remind her of her position in my life, but that would not sit well with Lucas. When she tried to snake her hands around my arm, I moved my hands, turned, and sent her a slight glare.

She didn't make eye contact. She pretended she d
