Chapter 29. Admit your mistake to him

Wen Li was already angry, and when she saw Huo Yuanchen defending An Wen like this, she became even more angry.

Without thinking, he raised the other hand that was not held by him.

"Snapped."

The slap landed hard on Huo Yuanchen's face, leaving an obvious mark.

His face was gloomy, his eyes were dark, and his thin lips were tightly pursed.

Wen Li thought he would be angry and even slap her, but he did nothing. He just looked at her inexplicably.

Wen Li licked his lips and wanted to explain, but couldn't open his mouth.

At the door of the unit, Yu Jingchen also came down, and the sound of his leather shoes was particularly abrupt in the silence at the moment.

Huo Yuanchen glanced at him, actually smiled, and said, "Professor Yu is here too."

Although it was a smile, it was distant and cold, and even seemed to contain a hint of hostility.

Yu Jingchen paused and explained , "I came here with Professor Zhou. We will take the same flight tomorrow."

"Yeah." Huo Yuanchen nodded. "I've asked all the questions I need to ask. I won't disturb you anymore. I'm leaving now."

He stuffed An Wen into the car, and when he walked around to the driver's seat, Wen Li couldn't help but shouted, "Huo Yuanchen, I wasn't... I wasn't targeting you just now."

He didn't react much. He just raised his eyelids and looked at her coldly, then started the car and drove away.

That last look gave Wen Li the creeps.

Zhou Ying came over and asked her, "Are you okay?"

Wen Li saw the slap marks on Zhou Ying's face and felt guilty, "I'm sorry for getting you into trouble."

Zhou Ying shook her head and smiled bitterly, "Although I came down late and only heard a few words, I also guessed why Huo Yuanchen came to see you. An Wen failing the exam was none of your business, and this is an unprovoked disaster for you."

Wen Li's mind was now filled with Huo Yuanchen's glance just now. He felt uneasy and dazed, and was obviously not in the right state of mind.

After this commotion, the remaining people lost their mood to eat hotpot. They helped Wen Li clean up the table, then said goodbye and left.

On the way, Yu Jingchen said to Zhou Ying, "It's very troublesome that An Wen failed the elective course. She has passed the graduate entrance examination. If she can't graduate on time, her graduate admission qualification will be automatically cancelled. It's no wonder that Professor Huo is anxious. In addition to An Wen's identity as An Ran's sister, she is Professor Huo's student."

Zhou Ying said unhappily, "Do you also suspect that it was Wen Li who ordered me to murder An Wen? I tell you, Wen Li doesn't even bother to compete with An Wen, and I won't do anything that violates school regulations. You guys can check the matter of An Wen failing the exam. If there is any violation of the rules, I will immediately resign and kowtow to her in front of all the teachers and students in the school to apologize. She asked for her own death, so don't put the blame on others."

Yu Jingchen felt very innocent, he was just analyzing the matter based on facts, why were they all so angry?

He didn't want to argue with an angry woman, and quickly said, "Of course I believe in Professor Zhou's professional ethics. I just want to say that Professor Huo will most likely protect An Wen and won't let her lose her qualification to study for a master's degree because of an unimportant elective course."

Zhou Ying curled her lips and said disdainfully, "Most of the research funds of your School of Biology come from the sponsorship of the Huo Group. Whatever Professor Huo wants to do, will your dean say no? But the course that An Wen failed is a course of our School of Foreign Languages. Our school has not received a penny of sponsorship from the Huo Group."

Yu Jingchen felt helpless and amused. He had never known before that Zhou Ying, who looked like a well-behaved and weak girl, could be so strong when faced with problems.

After seeing off the guests, Wen Li sent a message to Huo Yuanchen tentatively, asking him, "Have you arrived home?"

Naturally, no one paid any attention to her.

She waited anxiously for two hours, but Huo Yuanchen still didn't reply to her. She called, and the other party didn't block her, but hung up as soon as the phone rang. This happened several times, and Wen Li became more and more uneasy.

She always remembered what Huo Yuanchen said, "I don't want to give you medicine. No one can give you medicine even if you beg in the whole Haishi."

Wen Yongjie's checkup sheet from last week is still on her bedside table. All indicators are not very good. The doctor gave many instructions and finally summed it up in one sentence, "The patient's recovery is not optimistic. You, as family members, should pay more attention and try to create a good medical environment for the patient."

Wen Li herself is not a medical student, so she doesn't know how to create a good medical environment for her father. The only thing she can do is to ensure that her father can continue to take Prat without any worries.

She took her coat and drove to Huo Yuanchen's house.

The window was dark, and he hadn't come back. But Wen Li didn't dare to leave, she had to let Huo Yuanchen see her sincerity.

She waited at his door.

When it was almost midnight, she heard the sound of a motor downstairs. She lay down in the corridor and looked down. It was Huo Yuanchen's car.

Fortunately, he was the only one who got off the bus.

She was really afraid that he would bring An Wen back. In that case, no matter how sincere she was in apologizing, it would be useless.

After Huo Yuanchen parked the car, he did not go upstairs immediately, but stood downstairs and made a phone call before going upstairs. When he came out of the elevator, his whole body was almost covered by low pressure.

There was a group of people huddled together at the door of his house. He looked over and his eyes met with the woman at the door. She gave him a flattering smile, but he pretended not to see it and looked away with a cold face.

Wen Li slowly stood up, holding onto the door. He rubbed his hands on his arms and looked at the man cautiously, "Are you okay?"

The man remained unmoved, his eyes were cold.

Wen Li took two steps towards him, raised her head, and her eyes fell on the slap mark on his face. She wanted to raise her hand to touch it, but she didn't dare to. She said in an embarrassed tone, "You didn't reply to my messages or answer my calls. I was very worried about you."

The man still had a tense jawline and had no intention of paying any attention to her.

Wen Li groaned inwardly. His reaction clearly showed that he intended to treat her as a stranger from now on.

She simply stopped talking and took a few steps forward, her body almost touching him.

She reached out and wanted to hold his hand, but he moved sideways to avoid her. Her fingertips only touched his wrist and she could feel a little warmth.

"I've been waiting for you for three hours. There's no heating in the corridor. It's very cold. I thought I would freeze to death here tonight."

Although her words were exaggerated, she did suffer from the cold for three hours. Her hands were as cold as popsicles, the tip of her nose was red, and her body was shaking uncontrollably. She looked miserable.

Huo Yuanchen sneered, "You can go back."

"no."

Wen Li said, reaching out to put her arms around his waist. Of course he refused, but she was stubborn and refused to let go. She shamelessly burrowed into his arms, her face pressed tightly against his chest, and only then did she feel a hint of warmth.

"I was wrong."

She spoke aggrievedly, her lips pressed against his shirt. Through the layer of cloth, he could feel the coolness of her lips.

She was really frozen.

"Huo Yuanchen, I was wrong. Can you forgive me?" Wen Li lay on the man's chest and apologized word by word.

The man's expression was still very cold. "Why should I forgive you?"

Wen Li unbuttoned his coat, pulled his hand, and pressed it against his chest.

It felt soft to the touch. It was obvious that she was in neutral at the moment.

"I didn't even change my clothes before I came to apologize to you. Isn't that sincere enough?"

As she spoke, she rubbed him with her chest.
