Chapter Nine

When I opened my eyes, I noticed that it was getting dark already but where was I?

I got up and looked at the small room with fear in my heart. Was I kidnapped already? Who could have brought me here? 

Staring round the small room, I could feel my heart rising awkwardly. Suddenly, the door opened and a guy walked inside and stared at me.

I didn't know if I could describe the handsome and sexy god in front of me but I definitely did want to. He was half-naked and his body was smooth and sexy. His face was the most handsome face I've ever seen and I wasn't going to argue on that. 

Who is he? And why is he so cute? I didn't even know if he was a vampire or a werewolf. "What am I doing here?" I suddenly found my voice back as he continued staring at me. 

He ignored me and placed a bowl on the floor before he answered. "I saw your almost lifeless body and used my powers to bring you back to life."

How was it possible? How was he able to bring me back to life? Was he the Cursed Alpha?

"Thank you for your help." 

He frowned. "I don't like people showing appreciation for what I did for them. I don't help people who come to the woods. You're more than lucky because you weren't dead when I found you."

Why didn't he want me to appreciate him? "So you're...."

He cut in, rudely. "None of your business."

Now, that was rude. Who was he and why was he so rude? "I just wanted...."

He cut in again. "And like I said earlier, it's none of your business."

Since he wasn't going to tell me, it would be best for me to leave. "I'll be on my way now." I murmured.

"Do not stand up," he ordered in one of the most stern and authoritative voices I've ever heard that sent shivers down my spine. "You're a human and you shouldn't mingle with the other wolves. What are you doing in theAcademy?"

I was surprised. How did he know I was a human? I was still very much surprised but I reckoned he already knew since I was different from him.

"I've proved myself and I deserve to be here." I answered.

He laughed out loudly, intending to mock me. "You do know that this is a wolf academy and not a human academy."

I could feel tears in my eyes as he brought my efforts down. "I had to kill someone to be here and it wasn't easy. I wasn't even expecting it when the leader called my name out. I almost got killed so I deserve everything." I told him.

His expression showed that he didn't care. "Well done, wonder woman. What do you want from me? Why were you in the woods?"

I clutched my shirt nervously as he asked those questions. He quickly picked up a black T-shirt and wore it. 

Looking at his body, I became more confused. How could anyone be this sexy and cute at the same time? He definitely didn't deserve his cuteness because of his pride.

"I...."

He cut in, his voice hard and demanding that it made me yelp. "How did you get lost in the woods?"

"I was sent here on punishment. Someone locked me up in the female's restroom and I missed the attendance." I gave a quite explanatory answer.

He chuckled. "You must be having a hard time with bullies, I can't wait to be back there again."

"And you? What are you doing here in the woods?"

He glared at me. "It's none of your business," he paused and stared at me for a while before continuing. Maybe he gave it a second thought. "I'm the Cursed Alpha and I do serve punishment from time to time. I was cursed by the moon goddess."

I had a lot of questions to ask him but I figured out he wouldn't answer. "So I've finally met one of the strongest Alpha, when do you shapeshift?"

He frowned and I could see the pain in his eyes. "I can't shapeshift..." He finally revealed

My eyes widened. "You can't turn into a wolf?" I inquired. Was he one of the weak ones? Why couldn't he shapeshift?

"Yes, for now .... but I will be able to shapeshift when I find a mate."

Ohh, he must be going through a lot, I couldn't imagine being a wolf but not able to shapeshift into a wolf. It was probably the most annoying experience ever for him.

"I'm sorry."

He cocked an eyebrow at me. "I don't think I've seen you before in the academy. Are you new?"

"I- I'm new,"

"Funniest thing is that you're a human. Believe me or not, you clearly don't deserve a spot here. What do you want to do when the war starts between us and the vampires? You don't have powers, you're useless."

I felt his words as they stung me. "I'm here because I deserved it." I repeated my words.

I didn't know what his problem was but it was so obvious he had problems with humans. It was so obvious in his voice that he hated humans.

He grunted in annoyance and gripped my chin, making me shiver in fear. "I'm worse than those bullies, I'm someone you don't want to mess with because I hate humans. I don't even know why I helped you from that monster. I could have let you die but I didn't know you were human until I treated your wounds." He said, angrily and walked towards the door. 

I felt really bad about his statement. Why did he hate humans so much? I could sense that he felt like killing me if he had the chance to. I remembered the party but I wasn't even eager to go, I just wanted to stay in his small house.

"Why do you hate humans?" I took a bold turn to ask him and he growled and stepped back, his eyes turned black as his wolf was almost taking control. 

He managed to restrain himself. "You should leave now," he suggested, without looking at me again.

And what if I could help him? I sensed his pain and I knew he was going through a lot as a Cursed Alpha. I wondered why he was cursed by the moon goddess. I probably still had a lot to learn so I didn't want to say anything that would put me in trouble.

But I couldn't deny the fact that I could help him by becoming his mate. I couldn't deny the fact that I fell in love with him just by seeing his face. What was wrong with me? "I'll become your mate." The words popped out of my mouth before I could stop myself.

He stared at me and chuckled. "I, Alpha Blake, reject you as my mate." 

The pain slowly hit me and my heart came crumbling down like a wall.
