Chapter 39: Noticing Her Absence

"I have to meet with Elise tomorrow, I hope her plan is really going well."

"I'll be on my way soon, just give me a minute." Derek said to the caller, adjusting his tie.

"Okay. I'll reserve a seat for you before you get here." The voice at other end said.

"Yes, please. I'll meet you there." He hangs up, taking his briefcase in his hand, heading out of his office."

On getting to the car, the driver opened the door for him. Diana rushes to him. "How long will it take?" She asked.

This was the first time since Derek was leaving her alone since the both of them became a thing, and watching him leave felt like forever.

Derek stopped, turning to her. "It's just for a couple of hours and I'll be back." He replied.

Diana went to his side, she kissed his lips. "I'll be waiting." She said to him softly.

She watched him enter his car. She was waving at him until the car was out of the compound. She retreated back to her room.
