Chapter 74

Brian's POV:

It's so bad that whenever I look into Kelsey's eyes, I can't tell what she thinks as she always avoids looking into them; it makes me feel more pain even though I refuse to show it.

Since the day she left, I feel like time has stopped. Every night I dream the same dream, the horror of four years ago replaying and haunting me every second, that completely disappeared when Kelsey appeared. She was like warm sunlight warming my cold, dying heart, but then she dumped me the same way my mother did before.

Yes, I am a terrible person and always have to live alone. I always thought it was true and didn't want to have a mate connection, but when I met her, that holy girl let me know there are still people in the world who care about me, but now she, too, chose to leave me.

We met again for the first time in a while; standing in front of Kelsey, I coldly hid my nostalgia, I looked at her coldly, and she refused to meet my eyes in fear; it was ironic.
