"No," he said through gritted teeth.

"I will pay back what I owe as soon as I can." Jay sat up from the hospital bed, pushed back the covers, and left.

Angeline dropped her head, looking extremely defeated.

"What about the blueprint? Aren’t you going to take responsibility now that there’s something wrong with the blueprint?" Angeline yelled at his tall and straight back.

Jay stood at the door, his tone carrying a trace of acerbity. "I’m sure you know that I didn’t make that mistake. Don't use those dirty tricks on me just to get me. This will only make me despise you more."
