Jay was staring at Rose blankly. She had suddenly become obedient and pleasant. This call of ‘darling’ had ironed all the uncomfortable feelings in his heart and made him docile.

“Third Uncle is still a patient, so let him be.” A soft smile overflowed from Rose’s dark glazed eyes, laced with a bit of coquetry.

She had not looked at him with such innocence and admiration for many years.

For an instant, Jay felt like he had gone many years back when he and Angeline shared a peaceful time.
