CHAPTER-11

Knox P. O. V

When I went to the library My mother was sitting on the chair behind the desk, her head was down . She was deep in thought, when she heard the rattle of the door opening she raised her head and looked directly into my eyes.

Victoria has not aged a lot. Being a tribrid has slowed her aging process. She has a warm and motherly expression on her face. Her eyes turned softer when she saw me. My mother is a member of the wolf council so she has to travel a lot across the world. I thought she had gone for a long like always.

"Knox, son I heard what happened. Are you alright? Did you get hurt? Why did the rogues suddenly attack? We had a deal with their leader that they will stay away from our land and we will be theirs".

Victoria's face was covered in concern .

" Yes I am fine. Rogues attacked and killed about twenty pack warriors but we managed to eliminate them. We captured a few but did not survive and he did not open his mouth". My mom had a calm expression but there was worry in her expression.

"Oh that's awful. Make sure there will be a funeral in respect for their deeds. Every pack member should attain along with the warrior's families. The warriors will be buried with honour. We should again talk to the leader of the rogues.It needs to be stopped".

"I do not think it is Roger's doing. Somebody else is behind all this".

" What? Whom do you suspect? "

"I suspect none but whoever is behind this will not live long" My mother hum in agreement.

Silence stretches between us. Victoria broke the silence fast.

" You know soon it is going to be hunting season. The hunters are going to be here from all over the world".

My face turned gloomy, hatred shines in my eyes and expression.

"I will kill every single one of them before they can even harm any one of my pack members".Something crossed through Victoria's expression but before I can figure out she masked it with a smile

" I am so proud of you ,son. The alpha you have become after your father's death. Wherever he is now he is so proud of you" .

At the mention of my father I forgot everything. It has been twelve years since he was killed by the hunters. His death changed me completely. My father would be ashamed of the person I have become. My mother did not know what I did in the dungeon .

My father wanted to raise a kind hearted alpha instead. I have become a monster that everyone fears but I can not control my demons . My father's death broke me in the worst way possible. I hugged my mother tightly and she returned the favor.

Kimberly P. O. V

"It seems like your Bella has Canine distemper. Dogs typically develop runny eyes, fever, snotty nose, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and paralysis".

The dog owner start crying. I looked at the dog and the dog looked at me who is sitting on the bed. It seems like we both are thinking same.

Her owner is being over dramatic.

I give her owner a tissue . She dabbed her eyes and blowed her nose in it loudly. She handed me the tissue. I hold it with my index fingure and thumb with a expression of disgust on my face and throw it in the dust bin beside my desk and quickly wip my fingure with another tissue and return to attend my client.

" Is there anything can be done to save my baby? ".

" Please Mrs Morish do not cry.It is entirely possible to recover from Canine Distemper Disease. Recovery is usually dependent upon the strength of the dog's immune system and the strain of distemper they have contracted. It can take up to 2 months to fully recover".

"You just have to bring her twice each month here for her vaccination and she will be perfectly fine in no time".

The elderly woman stop crying after hearing that. Her face is now delighted. She turn to Bella with a smile on her wrinkle face.

"O that's good. Bella my baby you will be fine now. Mommy loves you".

We both stand up from the chair. I went to Bella and patt her head. She nuzzle her face in my hand from where she is laying. I scratched her head lovingly. Mrs Morish stand by the bed and look at our interaction but do not say anything.

" I will see you both in two weeks ".

We bid our farewell when she is living the examination room. The door close behind her.

I was looking through some reports when the door of my room burst open. Evelyn is standing there. I looked with a raised eyebrow silently demanding what the hell is she doing here.

Seeing my expression she just wave her hand in a dismissive manner.

"Finally that old hag is out with her Chihuahua ".

" She was not that bad.Yes a little over dramatic but it's nothing new. "

" Little over dramatic! You had not seen what tantrum she was throwing. You were late so we recommend another vet but she started speaking nonsense".

"So this was all screaming about. When I entered the hospital I thought someone has brought a wild bear in the hospital after hearing the screaming match but did not look at it and came directly in my room".

Evelyn is my co-worker. She works as a receptionist. Her family lives in Chicago. She is staying with her boyfriend here who is a doctor here. They meet through common friend and soon hit off. She is also in her senior years of college studying hospitality .

"So did get any call or message from your boyfriend? When is he returning? I want to meet him ".

Before I can say her anything my phone beeped. I look at my phone's screen and it is a message from my boyfriend. I opened the message and read.

'Hi babe I will be returning on Friday'.

A happy smile break on my face.

" What are you grinning at".

Before I can say anything Evelyn take my phone and read it.

"Oh my the lover boy is returning. We should all fix a date so we can meet up".

I agreed with her " Yes, I will send the date , time and place ".

" Ok I must go now. Bye ".

She left the room closing the door behind her. I am still grinning like a fool. Friday can not come any sooner.
