CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

"What are you saying?" Alessandro wants to know.

I sigh. Did I not make myself clear?

"I'm saying we're all in or we're out." I rub my eyes, frustrated at this situation.

"It's never going to work." He shakes his head. "My parents have been together for years, my mother is kept safe, and that setup works."

"No offense, but your parents are living a lie." How can he not see that?

"A lie that is keeping everyone alive." He looks at me like I'm the dumb blonde that showed up with him at the club last night.

"Listen, if you want to live like that, go ahead and do it. But I'm not going to be a part of it."

"So you'd rather be dead?" He asks in disbelief. "Or do you just really don't want to be with me?"

I throw my hands in the air. "That is what you took from this? That I don't want to be with you? After everything?"

He turns around and starts to get dressed.

"What, you're leaving now?" I laugh. "Again?"

"Well, we're not exactly solving anything, are we?" He throws his T
